Disadvantages: the main disadvantage of the hotel is its beach. The beach is uncomfortable, very cramped. A lot of sun loungers, pressed one to one, back to back. Only a monkey can squeeze into the middle. The pier saves the situation. It is very convenient to go to the sea from it, there is a lot of shade on it, you can also sit on a sun lounger right on the pier. But, unfortunately, the service is paid (5 euros or 6 dollars per day). The pier is used by all hotel guests, but a sun lounger for currency. In early June, between the beaches of "Golden Lotus" and "Astoria" (neighboring) a ladder was installed for entering the sea. You can enter from the shore without slippers. . .
The food at the hotel is typical for this price range - chicken, soy. . . powdered swill. There is practically no meat and fish. Fish on Wednesdays, at dinner (one fish per plate). The advantage of the hotel in the dining room is that the hotel only uses glassware, no paper cups. I love it. The bar has special dishes, coffee, cocoa - in cups and on a plate. Coffee, tea, cocoa - no restrictions. This is a big advantage of this hotel. Replenishment of water without restrictions. Other hotels are not friendly with this.
Well, what else is good. . . there is a pool in the basement (with sea water), but I didn't get to the basement, like last time. There is no bar on the beach. There is a private bar (beach bar) for an additional fee. Ordered juice and ice cream. A glass of juice (oranges are crushed, honestly crushed... a lot of oranges per glass) - $ 2, ice cream - $ 2.
I am satisfied with the rest. The hotel has not become noticeably better in two years, but it has not become worse either. The level is the same. The price of the hotel has increased, but this is a general trend this season. . .
I'll list the downsides:
- unfriendly hotel staff;
- lack of internet
We paid extra $10 for the internet (for seven days), but that didn't make it any easier - there was also no connection;
- due to the small territory, the layout of the rooms is planned very inconveniently, most of the rooms have an exit and windows! to the stairwell.
We paid an extra $70 (for seven days) and they gave us a room with a sea view.
- a very small beach, places were occupied at 6 o'clock in the morning;
- sun loungers on the pier are paid (5 euros per day);
- entrance to the sea from the beach only in special shoes, very large pebbles;
- at 17.00 there is no sun on the beach, as the buildings are very close and the shadow falls;
- They steal from the rooms. Everything of value was in the safe, but all the same, cigarettes disappeared from the travel bag. Not nice
Hotel pros:
- located in a very! beautiful place. The sea is clean, the mountains.
- the food is varied, a lot of fruits and sweets, they cook very tasty;
- the hotel is located in the city - you can walk (a bunch of shops, nightlife, walking alleys)
- proximity to the sea
the hotel is very close to the sea;
We will not be returning to this hotel. Although some have been going to this hotel for decades.
When the outside temperature is up to +40°C and 100% humidity, the air conditioner in the rooms is turned on by the hour: from 13-00 to 17-00 and from 23-00 to 06-00, but the cracks in the doorways and window frames are such that all the cool air it immediately flies out through them. In the dining room, lobby, lobby, in the bar, the air conditioner is not turned on at all! All this is explained by the fact that electricity is very expensive and needs to be saved, while the cost of the hotel is almost like a five-star! which is impossible to get rid of!
Safe $ 3 per day, a sunbed on your own pier $ 10 per person, it's good at least on the beach for free.
Freshly squeezed sour orange juice $ 2 a glass, in which there will not even be 200 grams, those juices that are in the machine for free are solid chemistry.
To get a room with a sea view +10$ for each day of stay.
From fresh fruits, watermelon, melon (sweet); nectarines (none); oranges and apples (sour), there were no other fruits. For the sake of interest, we went to the food market - all kinds of fruits are a real abundance and cheap.
There is no animation either for children or for adults (there is nothing for children to do there at all).
The food is generally not bad, but we have never seen oriental sweets on the sweet table.
The staff is good, friendly - they tried as best they could, always neat and friendly - there are no complaints about them (the territory is clean, tidy), but you can’t argue against the owner of the hotel!
Conclusions: the owner of the hotel is a redneck, the number of stars on his hotel is clearly not true - a maximum of three stars, without any claims for four +! There is definitely no point in going there a second time, as well as recommending it to others! There are hotels in the area with the same conditions, but at a much lower price!! !
The hotel is smartly built, even in the most intense heat you can sit by the pool in the shade and a cool breeze will blow. While eating, they turn on large fans on the ceilings and walls, so the heat is not felt so much. The beach is clean, the water is warm, you can go down into the water on a special bridge near the shore, or from the stairs on the pontoon. There were enough sunbeds for everyone on the beach.
The food is normal, a lot of fresh and stewed vegetables. But breakfast still seemed a bit poor to us.
The rooms are ok, but the furniture is a bit tired. Room cleaning is normal, sometimes they clean it before dinner, sometimes after. For accommodation on the 4th floor with individual air conditioning, they paid $ 50 extra, for a full-fledged Internet for a week - $ 10. For the use of sunbeds on the pontoon, you will have to pay $ 6 per day.
There is only one minus - the noise from the night discos, which are located near the hotel.
Just got back from Turkey where I spent my summer vacation!
In the period from May 31 to June 21.2017, he was in Kemer, at the "Golden Lotus" hotel. In general, the trip was pleasant, and the rest was a success. I'll start in order.
I purchased a ticket a week before the trip through the tour operator TPG
(Travel Professional Group). This company has contractual relations with a number of hotels, has its own airline "Bravo", a meeting party in Turkey. Everything works well and without failures.
Upon arrival at the hotel (08:00.05/31/17), I "warmed up" the reception manager by giving him $20 to quickly find a good room. I must say that by this time (beginning of June) the hotel is completely filled with vacationers. By the way, not all rooms in the hotel meet my requirements. A number of rooms of the hotel "Golden Lotus" have an internal layout. They are located inside the perimeter of the hotel with windows opening onto the interior of the hotel. This number, it is also standard, did not suit me. After breakfast, thanks to the "heating", I already got my room, No. 418, in which I lived for 21 nights. The room is good, with a balcony, located on the outer perimeter of the hotel... no complaints. Everything in the room worked well throughout my stay. TV - a small screen on the wall, two Russian channels and a music box. The minibar (refrigerator) is one-time filled with drinks. New plumbing, hot water at any time... always. There is a hair dryer, shampoo, soap. .
Dining room: Feeding is typical for hotels of this price category. A lot of chicken, turkey... little meat and fish, although they are also present in the diet.
It should be noted positively that the hotel does not practice the vicious practice of dispensing drinks in paper cups. Always only branded glasses for beer, glasses for wine and different glasses and glasses for drinks and juices... I liked it. Lots of different desserts. There were few fruits, there were practically none, only watermelons and melons every time for lunch, breakfast and dinner. Maybe by July, August the picture with fruits will change. Ice cream is missing.
In between lunches, additional snacks... these are sausages, and french fries, and gozleme cakes, and pizza. You can always drink coffee and tea. I also liked cocoa with milk, hot chocolate and chocolate with coffee (a hot drink that resembles both cocoa and coffee at the same time)... In general, something will suit everyone.
Beach: In my opinion, the beach looks cramped and hectic. There are a lot of sun loungers, they are almost back to back, there is not even a place to approach the sun lounger from the side. To deploy a sun lounger in the sun or in the shade is out of the question, there is no place on the beach for this. The beach is narrow and slopes towards the sea. All sun loungers are on a slope. This is also a disadvantage of the beach. There is no flat and empty place on the beach "Golden Lotus"!! ! Nearby hotels have a similar picture. The beach is better at "Valerie Beach", where each fungus has only two sun loungers (left and right), there is room for variations.
Pier: There is a pier (big plus for those who don't want to go over the rocks in the sea). The pier is used by all hotel guests, as well as other holidaymakers who want comfort. There are sun loungers on the pier. They are provided to everyone (not only hotel customers) for a fee. The cost of renting a sun lounger for the whole day is 5 euros! The beach bar is paid!
There are many smokers on the beach. Smoking everywhere, including lying on sun loungers. This is a big disadvantage in general for Turkey.
Those who prioritize the requirements for the beach should look for another hotel. Good beaches in the Camyuva area... excellent beaches in Konyaalti (Antalya), in Oludeniz.
Location: Classic city hotel in a resort location. The hotel is located on the first line in the center of Kemer. Almost on the beach and in the center! This is a big plus. To the left and right of the hotel (very close) there are buildings of other buildings. Count on a beautiful view from the window, from the balcony is not necessary. Frontal rooms, with a view of the sea, go only to the lucky ones. There are few such rooms.
I did not build any illusions, I knew all the charms and disadvantages of "Golden Lotus" in advance, not the first time in Kemer, so I made the choice of the hotel consciously. I am satisfied with the rest.
Disliked: a large number of Muscovites, too much noise day and night!
.
Airline - UIA. Tour operator - Pegas Touristik, no complaints. Clearly met at the Antalya airport, clearly sent back. All in white shirts, neat and handsome.
We arrived at the hotel around 10 am, waited for the settlement until 14:00. For $40 we got a room with separate air conditioning, a side view of the sea and the roof of a neighboring hotel (before paying, we could count on central air conditioning, which works until 3 am). When we were leaving, someone paid $100 for a frontal sea view.
STAFF
Waiters and cleaners plowed like bees from 7:30 to 00:00. Bucks didn't beg. There were tip jars near the bar and kitchen. Very friendly people. I liked the night attendant at the reception (a young man with glasses), he responded to all our requests very quickly. Removed normally.
If you don't want the cleaner banging on the door, hang a "Don't disturb" sign outside, otherwise it will distract you at the most inopportune moment.
SEA
The main impression of the trip. It is really fabulous: transparent and mega warm (about 30 degrees). The sea breeze really helped to endure the sweltering heat (+29 at night).
BEACH
Horseradish, in August it was very reminiscent of Sudak. Places were taken at 7 am, or sunbathing on the pier for $ 6 from 1 belly.
FOOD
There were no poisonings. We liked the food. There was no seafood, but there was meat and regular fish. I really liked cheeses, olives, pomegranate syrup, cakes, watermelon and grapes. Did not like sausages, juices from concentrates and melons. All the tastiest things were prepared near the pool: omelettes in the morning, something meat or fish in the evening. Always ate. On Saturday there was an evening of Turkish cuisine - they barely crawled away from the table ...
BAR
We drank dry white and red wine, beer, Pepsi, Fanta, Sprite, tea and coffee. Bought orange juice for $2
. I don't recommend drinking anything else.
ROOM:
When the balcony was open, the air conditioner automatically turned off. At night, at full power of 18 degrees, it barely cooled the room, in the morning we woke up from the cold. There are no blankets in the room, but they gave us one.
WATER
Always hot and cold. Take good hair balms with you - the water is very hard, it is difficult to comb your hair without a balm. Shampoo, shower gel and soap were provided free of charge.
SPA
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, a short girl caught us and offered to conduct an introductory tour of the hotel's SPA area. We went to the -1 floor, where she showed the sauna, the pool with sea water and said that they have a tradition: on the first day of your stay at the hotel, peeling and foam massage (hammam) are free of charge, subject to ordering one massage at the price list. Minimum price: $20. We took the total for $30. I liked it, but then other services began to soar to us, we refused.
By the way, it is not for nothing that this young lady catches vacationers on the first day - then you realize that their prices are too high.
HOTEL GUIDE (Pegas Touristik)
Since we did not come to the information meeting and did not buy excursions from him, he refused to communicate with us ...
TOURS
Bought from Ginza. In Kemer, this is the largest tour operator. Their offices: to the left of the hotel, near the clock tower, near the yacht parking, etc. Air-conditioned buses, compulsory insurance. Everything is civilized, do not be afraid of the horror stories of hotel guides. Prices in each office are called different (or rather, they are entered in an advertising booklet). To the left of the hotel, an employee named ISA gave us the following rates:
1) Pamukkale-Hierapolis = $35 (for the whole day: one way bus ride 4 hours).
2) Myra-Kekova-Church of St. Nicholas = $ 25 (all day: ride the bus + walk on the yacht).
3) Istanbul = $220 (all day, fly by plane).
4) Jerusalem = $300 (all day, fly by plane).
5) Jeep safari = $20.
6) Quad safari = $20.
7) Fishing picnic = $30.
8) Cableway Olympos = $50.
9) "Anmaltsya Akvartsum" (the world's largest aquarium) = $45.
10) Turkish bath (hamam) = $15.
11) Rafting = $12.
12) Aqualand Water Park = $30.
We chose the tour "Mira-Kekova-St. Nicholas Church" from 08:00 to 20:00. I really liked the guide Aigul from Kyrgyzstan. Aunt with humor, fluent in the material and very cordially treats tourists, St. Nicholas plays a big role in her life, even though she is a Muslim.
Through a hotel guide, any excursion costs at least 40% more.
LEATHER AND FUR COATS
The hotel has a small shop that organizes shopping tours to its trading base, where "SUPER DISCOUNTS". They promise to deliver back. On the street or where you buy excursions, you are offered to drive 3 minutes to a specialized market. They take you there and dump you without warning. There are no price tags on the products sold, prices are set after the “face control”.
If you are from Moscow, you will be sold a leather jacket for $1.500; if you are from Kyiv, the price for the same jacket drops to $400. The market itself is a huge major store.
GENERAL CONCLUSION
It is better to go to the hotel in June or September, when there are fewer people: you can choose a good air-conditioned room and not fight for a place by the sea. Trade everywhere. They themselves take off the prices, which they have previously cheated. Say that here (in Ukraine, Russia... ) it costs less, they are immediately inferior in price.
