In a nutshell - marvelous nature, delicious Italian food and very nice people. The three of us went: me, my husband and a child of 1.4 years, for 14 days, from September 14 to 28. We found very few reviews before the trip, about the hotel, one is scarce and not at all rosy. The resort is ideal for older people and young people who want privacy.

For families with children, and even with small ones, in my subjective opinion, it is not the best option, although we did not regret that we went here. In general, everything was great! Despite a number of inconveniences, emotions are the most positive.
1. The road - I was most worried about the flight, because this is the first trip with a baby, but it was worth worrying about the transfer from the airport, this part of the journey turned out to be the most difficult. ? We were picked up by a bus and circled along the serpentine for about an hour and a half to the destination (the views are amazing, but I had no time for them), the child was hard and of course he was seasick.
2. Hotel - we chose Torre Ruffo Robinson, we didn’t know about it, absolutely nothing. Except that it supposedly meets our basic requirements: a kitchen in the room, a sandy beach (the agent "slightly" lied)) no more than 50 meters away (but this is true, a few steps away). “I'll start with the staff - they won us over, wonderful, everything, from the reception to the waiters and drivers. ? The territory is large, well-groomed. Lots of greenery and flowers. Of the minuses: ? The paths are gravel. Walking is not convenient, about the stroller, I will not say anything. “The whole territory is, as it were, on a hill, there is a fence made of rods, but through it, a child can easily climb or simply fall out, in general, it is not very safe. ? Beach...., sandy, you can’t even call it sandy. Stones, many stones. . , not very many stones. Not suitable for small children in my opinion. It was difficult for us. Every second control was not included in our plans on vacation, I would like to sit down at least for a while, but with our “awl in one place” it was unrealistic. The little one constantly ran to the stones, tried to climb them, lift and throw a pebble, 3 kilograms in weight. It got a little tired. The problem of small sharp pebbles was solved with the help of aqua shoes for everyone. The sea - maybe we got there, or maybe it’s always like that there, but the water was with small brown algae and sparkles, it looked dirty in places. ? Infrastructure is zero, just zero. Shop 3 km from the hotel up, on foot with a child or a stroller (there is no sidewalk, so it is inconvenient), in the heat, so-so pleasure. With a cafe / pizzeria / restaurant - the same story, around, nothing. ? Here is a huge plus for the staff, they solve any issue, quickly and inexpensively. Their transfer from the hotel to the market and back cost us 5€.
3. What to see- ? We were highly advised to go to #Tropea, which we did and then repeated this trip three more times, we liked it so much; ) We went in the morning after breakfast, returned at 18:00-19:00 for dinner. We had a nice lunch there. Taxi called at the reception, for 28€ round trip? That's where the beach was really sandy and the sea turquoise clear. They lead to the beach, a crazy number of steps - with a huge bag, a stroller and a baby in their arms... but tuk-tuk- decides everything. 10€ (also 8€) and in 5 minutes you are on the beach. ? Narrow streets, cozy restaurants with seafood, local wine and fragrant pizza. While the baby had a siesta in the stroller, we enjoyed lunch. Of course, Tropea is not suitable for shopping, only a souvenir and a couple of sluggish clothing stores “for tourists”. You can also go to Capo Vaticano on the famous Gratocelle beach, but this is just a beach, there is nothing to see there and nowhere to go. We decided not to go, Tropea attracted us more : ) ? For those who have older children or no children at all, there is an amazing option - Sicily! We all figured out how to do it easier and cheaper and faster... but we didn’t dare, it was too tiring, even for adults, we didn’t want to torture the child. Ideal - without being tied to an excursion, go by train (run every 30 minutes, travel from Ricadi 1.5 hours) to Villa San Giovanni, take the ferry there and after 30 minutes, are you in Sicily ? ? Even easier on a rented car + ferry, but it is longer, more difficult and more expensive.
4. Car - we tried to book it for the entire period, even from home, but a number of difficulties and doubts forced us to cancel the reservation, we decided to take it on the spot if necessary. What a blessing that it happened this way, I don’t even know why in our case and in this place there is a car, probably to stand in the free parking of the hotel; ) You can get everywhere by taxi or hotel transfer, not expensive and without binding.
5. ? Food - we had the usual European breakfasts and wonderful dinners, with an abundance of seafood, meat, vegetables and local wine. Desserts in Calabria, just surprised, and not only in the hotel, sweet and tasteless. Croissants - mmmm, no comment : ) We dined either in restaurants in Tropea, or cooked ourselves. ? Vegetables in Calabria are magical. “For a year, there is nothing and nowhere to buy, except for yoghurts, from the sweetness of which, the cheekbones are reduced. I did not listen to anyone, I took everything with me, from the mixture to jars and cookies. And it saved us.
6. ? Public - mostly nice German, Italian and French pensioners, a few families from Switzerland, Norway and Italians from the north. Friendly child so much that when we left, they kissed the little one and almost cried: ) Everyone understood each other, regardless of the language. The pensioners helped entertain my, well, very active child so that we could have dinner. Even older Italian kids played and carried away the little ones. My son is so accustomed to everyone's attention and crazy positive that I even worried about how he would adapt to our realities after arriving home.
7. Bottom line: returned happy and a little tired??? ?

The first race for "ours")) was 1.06. 18. I'll start with the airport, it's very small, the Italians are in no hurry, everything is very long (( Brought to the hotel. Everything is ok here, they settled earlier, which was very pleasing, the hotel itself was built as separate houses, its own entrance, cool) Everything is very green around, beautiful flowers, in general, you walk like in a botanical garden, well, very cool! BEACH Sunset is bad, big stones, special slippers are needed, with small children it is not suitable, but the sea is clear, beautiful.

FOOD we had breakfast and dinner, we were quite full, breakfast is the same every day, and dinner is varied. We went around to dine, I repeat with small children it is not suitable, walking up, a steep climb, it is difficult for an adult to eat. It’s better to take a full ration or just breakfast and go somewhere too lazy to have lunch and dinner, and only sleep at the hotel, well, this is an option BUT there is no public transport, so a transfer from the hotel (and it’s not cheap) is better to take a car rental and not be dependent at all.
There is animation, but no children, not a popular region yet. There are no ours at all, Germans, British and Italian pensioners. In general, for a relaxing holiday, relax, swim, admire the beauties of the sea and around - suitable. There is nowhere to hang out here, the adult animation is weak, there are no discos.
All good mood and pleasant rest! : )
