Apart-hotel Amaryllis Hotel Apartments 3 * has a very high rating, especially on booking. com. Indeed, everything is very good. Large room (30 sq. m. ), a bedroom with a separate entrance, two air conditioners, a living room with a sofa, a kitchenette with a set of necessary utensils, a large shower in the bathroom, a hairdryer. The functional balcony with furniture offers a wonderful view of the sea and part of the village, everything is clean and not worn out, daily cleaning with the change of towels, bed linen is changed every three days, standard breakfasts: cold cuts, fruits, vegetables, there is hot in the form of omelettes with different toppings, sausages and ham. I consider the presence of children in large numbers as an indicator of the high appraisal of the apartments, more than half of the rooms were occupied by families with small children. Amaryllis also has its own large parking lot, which is important for Tolo, where this problem exists, a deep pool with clear water and free Wi-Fi throughout.
The apartments have only one drawback: the building is located very high relative to the sea, only two hundred meters from the shore, but you need to descend or climb steeply along the road at an angle of forty-five degrees. This should be taken into account if you are going to rest without a car, but you are physically not very good or if you have a child with a stroller.
The beach in Tolo is very long, I think a couple of kilometers. On the right (facing the sea) there is a small port, then there is a very narrow coastline, the waves reach the foundations of some hotels, then the city beach begins on the left, it is wide, sandy, gently sloping into the water, equipped with all kinds of beach and sports paraphernalia. Even more to the left is the “wild” continuation of the city beach, there are no sun loungers and umbrellas there, but there are few people, we went there in the mornings to swim, the water is very clean, warm, it’s always calm before lunch.
We traveled by car to the east and southeast of the Peloponnese: Nafplio, Mycenae, Argos, Acrocorinth, Epidaurus, Monemvasia. The town of Nafplio is only 10 km away. from Tolo, a very picturesque ancient city, known since the Mycenae period, filled with old houses of various styles, with its Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the sea fort of Bourtzi. The city is very interesting, we have been there several times, by the way, at the beginning of the 9th century it was the first capital of independent Greece. The ancient theater of Epidaurus left a great impression, I read a lot about it, but somehow I couldn’t believe that in fact the miracles of exceptional acoustics have survived to this day, but all incredulous tourists checked it, in different languages, everything works! The trip to Monemvasia left the deepest impression. It was the longest trip: 3 hours and 240 km along the toll national highway through Tripoli there and 200 km in 5 hours back along the mountain serpentines along the sea. Monemvasia was founded in the 6th century AD, the old city was built on the steep slopes of a huge rock that stands in the sea. The impregnable city quickly turned into the main port and commercial center of Byzantium. And the Venetians called it the "Gibraltar of the East", since in the distant past it controlled the sea routes between the Mediterranean countries. Many noble Byzantine nobles lived here and there was a large wine trade. At the very top of the cliff in the so-called.
