Hello everyone, I don’t even know where to start the story, either about the city itself, or about the hotel. Well, all the same, since this is a review about the hotel, I’ll tell you about it. The hotel is good. Well, that is, this is not the Ritz and the Plaza - but for those needs - like sightseeing - it is quite suitable! It is located in the old city, right among the shopping streets, so to speak, it is very convenient - from it you can walk close to the Grand Bazaar - one of the oldest and largest in Istanbul - it is very interesting to walk along it, buy all sorts of dryuks, souvenirs, Turkish goods, sweets. … More ▾ Hello everyone, I don’t even know where to start the story, either about the city itself, or about the hotel. I highly recommend sweet Turkish cotton wool, which is called halva for some reason, it is not expensive - but our Russian residents have only a positive effect - all these delights have already become boring. So, within walking distance there are also a lot of cafes, restaurants, shops - in general, everything that can take your evening.
I especially recommend the Chagri restaurant (here you can see about it: cagrirestaurant. com), it is a little down the street from this hotel - they serve excellent fish dishes. You can also walk in 15 minutes to Top Kapa, to Sofia, to the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome Square. Of course, it is better to take a guide, or join a tourist group already recruited, everything is very interesting, you will get a lot of impressions, useful information. The hotel itself does not have a pool, I’m just saying, just in case, there’s nowhere to swim in Istanbul - they don’t swim in their seas, you never know who wants to freshen up in the summer - in this hotel, well, except in the shower. The rooms are good, urban type, a very beautiful lobby, small - but all in gold - sort of like frills). At the expense of food - the food is monotonous, however, as in all of Istanbul (I mean purely Turkish cafes), it is monotonous - it's chopped shawarma and rice with salad. The breakfasts are good.
Dinners are not very good - but in principle, what's the difference - it's better to take the concept of eating only breakfasts - so as not to become attached to the hotel - and visit the city itself more, because I must tell you Istanbul is a magnificent monument of cultures, Byzantine, Ottoman, oh what only You will not find historical artifacts there. I highly recommend visiting the palace - Dolmabahce Sarai, this is a more modern palace of the rulers of Turkey - not like Top Kapi, but already with chic chandeliers, carpets, paintings - it’s very beautiful both in the garden and inside the palace itself - in general, you will make a lot of photos - impressions railway carriage. We also visited the largest mosque - this is the mosque of Sultan Suleiman, where his grave is also located next to Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska-Roksolana. It is very interesting in terms of architecture to look at all this. Gorgeous. We visited the kitchen at this mosque - you can have lunch there - but in a strictly Muslim style - i. e.
without alcohol - well, you know, they don’t drink alcohol on the territory of the mosque - you can also attend cooking classes there, where they will teach you how to twist some kind of cheese sausages, then they will cook them, and eat them yourself - in principle, interesting and entertaining). Well, the most important thing is the BOSPORUS, this strait is unique in its beauty, the views that open here when you sail it on a boat - this is just a must-have item on your trip - namely, a boat trip along the Bosphorus - preferably in the evening - so that you start exploring the coast beyond the light, and returned back after the dark - so that you could see how the bridges across it were illuminated - indescribably beautiful.
And you can also go to another area not to old town, but... to a new city - there are many discos, bars and other entertainment - taxis, buses, trams go everywhere, there are no problems with movement there. And moreoooo. .
you can go to dinner at Galata Tower - this is the famous lighthouse in Istanbul - tourists spend their evenings chic there - in addition to dinner there is an entertainment program - with oriental dances, songs, contests, karaoke and other things - I recommend it, and there are many nationalities as visitors there - which gives a certain charm to what is happening, the more I remind you that this is a lighthouse and you dine almost under the sky - very high! Well, probably that's all - if anyone has questions, write - I will be happy to answer).
