My family and I stayed at the Donau Hotel (Rimini) in August 2017, we went to rest from Natalie Tours. On the first day (Tuesday) we were not settled in Donau, as the girl at the reception Irina explained, there was some kind of misunderstanding, and they usually check in on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We also had check-in vouchers from Natalie Tours, and they had tours starting on Tuesdays for that period, and a hotel booking confirmation from the host tour operator. We were escorted to a hotel on the nearby Villa Derna street, the resettlement issue was resolved in just 10 minutes - very quickly. The Villa Derna hotel is lower class, according to information from the Internet, two stars, but they have three stars on the sign, so we didn’t immediately understand where we were being moved, besides, we wanted to quickly drop our things, go plunge into the sea and have lunch. There were fewer amenities in the room compared to what it was later in Donau, the room in Villa Derna is much smaller, there is no air conditioning, there is no shower in the bathroom - just a shower and a drain hole in the floor, everything was very tasty at breakfast (coffee , cereals, various pastries, yoghurts, cold cuts). Comparing these hotels is incorrect, and I am writing all this only to emphasize that Donau relocated to worse conditions. The next day we are still settled in Donau. The room is generally normal, there is air conditioning (free of charge), the TV is small under the ceiling, the wires are wound on the bracket, it looks very sloppy, in the bathroom the shower is right next to the toilet, you won’t fit normally, Wi-Fi costs 5 euros for the entire stay (we were given free of charge for the inconvenience with the relocation and this was the only compensation, so to speak, and then only after we raised this issue), Wi-Fi in the room of the device on the android caught normally, the iPhone was intermittent, the refrigerator was shared at the reception, breakfast - coffee, cereal, croissants (not very tasty), sausage cutting, melted cheese, the same thing every day. Now about why I give such a low rating to the hotel. The case with our relocation is not the only one - in the following days we repeatedly met people with the same problem, they were a young couple from Romania (we saw them once at the reception), a couple from Russia (they were moved to another hotel for three days, and when they returned with suitcases to Donau, there were no free rooms again and they were moved somewhere again), at the reception periodically there were conversations in raised tones, somehow they witnessed how a middle-aged man said that he had also been forced to live in another hotel. A total of four cases in a few days, including ours. I would like to note that the behavior of the hotel staff, relocation issues have already been worked out, the cases are clearly not isolated and the practice of relocation to other hotels is on stream - Donau confirms bookings for more places than they actually have, so when choosing this the hotel has a chance to get into a similar situation - not the best start to the holiday.

It seems to me that some people's expectations do not match the category of the hotel they have chosen. In fact - the room is small with a tiny balcony (1 chair was placed there and that's it - it was already impossible to bypass this chair). I lived alone - I was not cramped, but the bed in the room is double. I think it would be too tight for two. The bathroom is small, the water from the shower pours onto the floor, but dries instantly. Everything is fine with water - it was hot at any time of the day, and with good pressure. Air conditioning in the room is free, worked fine, for Wi FI they took 5 euros for the entire stay. It was possible to connect directly from the room. There was also a TV in the room (I didn’t watch it, but I know that channels in Russian were also received there. Italian sockets with 3 holes, you can turn on a regular plug without an adapter - everything works. Breakfasts are ordinary, cheese and ham and bread have always been fresh, the coffee machine worked fine. There were also all sorts of croissants, muesli, etc. - quite enough. Dinner I did not take. The room was cleaned every day, towels were changed on average every other day, in my opinion, normal. The hosts are very attentive to the guests, always ready to help and go forward. Antonio speaks only Italian, but there are always at least two Russian speakers - the hostess of the hotel and another girl. A big plus is the location. Less than 5 minutes walk to the sea, discounts on the beach. Lots of cafes and shops nearby. Walk to the old town for 25 minutes (slow)

It was a wonderful holiday. The hotel is quite a three. Friendly host Antonio and wife Svetlana. We lived without a balcony, I got used to a cramped shower room for a couple of days), but by the way, there was much more remarkable. 5 euros cost wi-fi from the room for 7 days (I caught only in the lobby, but in the hotel I caught wi-fi of a neighboring hotel with a password for the name of the hotel), they brought us a safe for free (albeit with their own code, but nothing was lost), it is advisable to settle on the upper floors, as on the first one they can be robbed (enter the room from the street), the air conditioner worked, although it didn’t hurt much lately (apparently due to the fact that we actually didn’t turn it off at all), the owner of the hotel cooks, the dishes are amazing, and most importantly with a smile and a soul! We could hardly get out of the table) Tax at the hotel for 7 days 11 euros. … More ▾ It was a wonderful holiday. The hotel is quite a three. Friendly host Antonio and wife Svetlana. On the beach there are 2 sunbeds and an umbrella 10 euros (separately a sunbed 4 euros, an umbrella 2 euros), we went to beach number 50, although Svetlana told us to go to the 52nd from the hotel, but we came to the first one there immediately bargained for the same prices, as on the 52nd and remained. On the beach there is a Russian-speaking boy Vlad, for ease of communication. The distance from the beach is a minimum couple of minutes of quiet walking. In general, of course, Antonio and Svetlana pleased me the most, they are very helpful. On the beach they also go offering all sorts of rubbish to buy the price is doubled. Well, I hope someone will come in handy info))) Just on vacation I decided that I would definitely share my impressions, since there are not many fresh reviews about this hotel.

Breakfast is very cheap and monotonous. the staff responds to requests only the third time. Not a hotel, but a complete misunderstanding. The only plus is the location in the city center, although the free beach is at least 30 minutes walk away. It is very strange how a hotel like this can survive in the tourist services market and receive tourists. . .

My husband and I were lucky enough to visit this hotel on our honeymoon thanks to a tour company. We were very tired after the excursion, and in principle, the maximum that we wanted from a "transshipment" hotel, before checking into the one ordered according to the program, was a clean bed and preferably the same bathroom. . And we didn't get either. . See for yourself on the photo. . In this room it was scary to touch everything. . Complete unsanitary conditions. . The safe, of course, did not work, by the way, on the day of check-in, we met Russian tourist girls who left their key at the reception, and this is usually what is done in decent hotels, and as a result, their room, and a few more, were robbed that day! The keys were simply taken from the counter when there was no staff behind it, this was later found out when viewing surveillance cameras. . Another couple with a child who settled on our floor was "lucky" no less. . In principle, their key was not found, it was lost, and at night, tired tourists who had a plane in the morning, along with the hotel staff, broke the locks to get at least their things. . And all this happened in just 1 day of being there. And in the end, I’ll say a little more about our room, we were settled on the top floor, out of 4-5 rooms, I don’t know exactly how many there were, only two functioned, because The floor was being renovated, and in order to get into the room, it was necessary overcome the "opened" concrete floor. . Judge for yourself from the photo. Breakfast is insanely synthetic, they were completely afraid to eat sausage. for 2 weeks of staying in various 3-star hotels, we had something to compare with) In general, friends, if for some reason you decide to stay at this hotel, it’s better to think a hundred times, and even better look for another one. Have a good rest!

The rooms are cold, although there are built-in air conditioners. There is no sense, just cold air. Bed linen was not changed once in a week. The breakfasts are terrible. How many traveled to hotels have not seen this. Two kinds of salted sausage, bagged viola-type cheese, and croissants bought a month in advance. And it's the same every day. Well, the coffee machine is normal, although it pleases. There is only one channel on the TV and there is no way to set up the TV set, the remote control only changes channels. Shampoo was sometimes not put, so I had to run to ask. In general, the hotel is very lame. I do not advise anyone to rest there, look better at the reviews and decide. Do you need such a rest.

I will only return there.
