Even with an advance payment of half of the total cost of living, you can be an uninvited guest. This is almost exactly what happened to us… they were waiting for us… but on a different day, in a different room, and in general, apparently, in a different universe. The room is good, clean and comfortable. True, there is no kettle in the room, and you have to go with a mug to the main building of the hotel to ask for boiling water in order to drink tea, thereby running into another portion of negativity from the administrators out of the blue...... well, since your guests enrage you so much... so put kettles in the room... so that they do not disturb you once again...
And by the way, (at the request of the hotel manager) we want to thank the hotel administration that we were not woken up at 7 am by a lawn mower... this is very sensitive of you)
Izborsk Park itself is a good place, it is clear that those who created it put their soul into it, it is a pity that due to the incompetent manager and staff there is no more desire to return there.

I always like to spend the May holidays outside the city. Usually in May, stable warm weather, everything turns green. And after a hard, long winter, it’s just a rest for the eyes. They offered to go to Izborsk for 2 days. Never been there. It's good that there was an opportunity. We left at about 4pm on Friday.

We left at about 4pm on Friday. We arrived without traffic jams in 3.5 hours. Settled in a 2-bed room one. A room on the second floor in the Izborsk-Park guest house, and on the first floor in a rustic style Refectory, where I was heartily fed on the road: amazingly delicious pork with herbs and home-style potatoes. After the road, I could not wait immediately for air. Uncle Sasha offered to accompany me to the fortress. An extraordinary weekend has begun.
The fortress was next to the hotel. Having passed the shopping arcade, not noticing the souvenir hut in which it was necessary to buy an entrance ticket, we went to the entrance to the fortress. On the way, Uncle Sasha talked about Izborsk, his life (very interesting).
I experienced extraordinary joy inside. In the photo you can see how my face is blurred. With such a physiognomy, I rested for 2 days.
The next morning, I still wanted to plunge into the deep history of the surrounding place and went to the Museum of Local Lore. Bored girls reacted animatedly to the purchase of the tour. It began with a museum exposition, then we went to the fortress and pictures of the Middle Ages floated in my imagination. The conversation with the guide lasted 1 hour. And then I myself went to the springs, the lake, and went to the Truvorovo settlement in the evening. The soul was filled with delight and silence. Slept like the dead.
And in the morning they offered me scrambled eggs from chicken eggs, semolina porridge with jam, coffee and sandwiches with cheese and sausage. Pretty, yummy!
I went out to the courtyard of the hotel and examined everything in detail. In the courtyard there are 2 places for a large company to relax with awnings, a Russian stove, an interesting brazier, reminiscent of a steam locomotive. Next - a house with 4 rooms for 8-10 people. And behind him is a bathhouse. And behind the jar is a chicken coop.
In the morning I met my neighbor, a 24-year-old boy. After talking, we decided to take a bus to the Pechora Monastery. On the way we talked with the guide Victor. Only 30 km, 25 minutes and we are in front of the monastery. The monastery is very unique. It is in a lowland, almost all the temples are visible from the viewpoint, bright and colorful, a stream flows out of the far monastery wall. Pechory from the word cave. We didn't go to the cave. And they saw the bell ringing. We went to the temple, put candles.
I was strongly impressed in the monastery shop by the large faces of the Mother of God, they are all different, filled with love. Photographs were not allowed.
We returned from the bus station to the hotel. After the stew, juicy meatballs and fruit drink, I wanted to go back to the springs. This is an extraordinary sight: from the sandstone wall, water from different places beats with great force, connecting into a turbulent stream that flows into the lake, along the surface of which white swans swim.
My husband called that he had come from Novgorod and I once again walked around the neighborhood with him.
Thanks to all the people who helped me make this unforgettable trip and to the employees of Izborsk-Park, who provided such delicious food and were so hospitable!
