“We urgently need to change the situation, ” my wife said before the New Year. - Well, how long can you run in a vicious circle: home - work, work - home...
In the old days, at the peak of such crises, we traveled abroad, most often to Europe. And here, literally the year before last and last year, the company in which the wife works also experienced terrible shocks: in connection with the global economic crisis, the authorities carried out a general purge of the ranks of employees, firing almost a hundred.
Fortunately, his wife's workplace survived, but she was pretty nervous.
In addition, we safely skipped the vacation in the summer.
How to be?
- Let's go to the hotel on New Year's Eve... - the wife suggested, however, not very confidently.
- Why not? But where, if we live in Tel Aviv and a ten-minute drive from the house Embankment with its luxurious five-star hotels.
“Let’s go to another city, ” the wife insisted.
- In which?
- Yes, at least in Haifa. We'll get a hotel room and I'll be idle for two days: no kitchen, no washing up.
I got on the Internet. There is nothing to go to a huge five-star hotel: we have already seen enough of this stuff abroad. As for Israel, boutique hotels have appeared here in recent years. Such family hotels. Very original, completely different from each other. And if we celebrate the New Year - then only in a special atmosphere - so that the holiday is remembered.
Soon I came across a name that fully matched my imagination: Villa Carmel. Called and booked a room.
December 31 in the morning we arrived in Haifa. The hotel is located on Mount Carmel. Outwardly, it resembles a fabulous house, but inside! . . Even if my wife, a very demanding woman and a great esthete, was delighted with a cozy room, it means that I was not mistaken in my choice. Tasteful furniture. Comfortable bathroom. Balcony with glass table and chairs. TV with huge plasma screen.
The restaurant is a separate song: gourmet French cuisine, you will lick your fingers! European service: friendly patient waitresses, a bar with a huge range of drinks.
We don’t remember such an unusual meeting of the New Year. Closer to midnight, the guests - Americans, Japanese, Germans, Russians - gathered in a restaurant. And we all met the New Year with flowery toasts and a gourmet dinner (French cuisine did not disappoint).
The next morning, my wife went to the sauna and I went to the jacuzzi. Then, while I was watching an action movie in the room, my soul mate was given a massage in the SPA.
On January 2, we both had to go to work, but we didn’t want to leave Haifa: it turns out that in order to have a wonderful time and really relax, it’s not at all necessary to book air tickets and fly to London, Paris or Venice: you can get all the pleasures in a Haifa hotel- boutique Villa Carmel. Serve in European style.
After returning from a short but romantic trip, my wife and I felt like we were in our 30s again.
