I didn't really like the hotel. Of course, a chic hall, not bad rooms. The bath is not leaking, the kettle is not working, the Internet is disgusting, I didn’t like breakfast, at least because there are practically no fruits! And where is this? ! In Cambodia! Baking is also a problem. We woke up at 7:30 in the morning to clean the room! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never go back myself.

The Golden Sand Hotel is one of the few establishments in the Ochheuteal beach area that meets the status of a Hotel. Near this beach, of course, there are several other establishments of a similar level, but there are not many of them. Most places for tourists are nothing more than Guesthouses with a room cost from $7 without hot water and $8 with it up to $12-20, depending on comfort, proximity to the sea's edge, air conditioning, fan, etc.

Most places for tourists are nothing more than Guesthouses with a room cost from $7 without hot water and $8 with it up to $12-20, depending on comfort, proximity to the sea's edge, air conditioning, fan, etc. P. Therefore, against the background of the surrounding guesthouses, the Golden Sanda status, declared as “three stars”, seems to be somewhat underestimated. It deserves a "four", given the good interior of the rooms, the very beautiful design of the Ground-level, where the reception (everything made of mahogany is very beautiful) and the restaurant are located. Near the main entrance to the hotel there are cute redwood elephants and other characters. In addition to the specified floor, the hotel has 4 "residential" floors. There is an elevator. Almost half of the rooms on all floors have a sea view. Although it (the sea) is 500 meters away, it can be seen well from above. I'm not sure if you can see the sea from the 1st and 2nd floors, but from the 3rd and 4th you can see it for sure. The same half of the rooms have a view of the pool. The maximum depth is -1.60 m. The second half of the rooms allows you to see neighboring guesthouses (I would not call them hotels) and 2 roads: towards the Otres beach and to the Golden Lions Traffic Circle. By the way, it is quite close to the Golden Lions, as well as to the sea - 500 meters, no more. It is possible that the best rooms are located on the 2nd floor, there are even signs “Do not disturb” and “Please make up the room” - in electronic form, however, there is nothing to confirm this fact (not about the signs, but about the best rooms), since he himself lived on the 4th floor in room 408 overlooking the close pool and not very close sea. The room has enough space for two people. For more crowded accommodation, there are two-room rooms. Rooms are cleaned and towels are changed daily, the staff is not fussy about dollars left on the bed and is very efficient. There is no stationary hair dryer in the bathroom, but it is available upon request without deposit. The room has an electric kettle, a supply of instant coffee and water in factory bottles is updated daily. The mini-bar is paid, but it is not necessary, there are plenty of drinks in nearby shops at very low prices.
Nutrition. Breakfast is included in the price and is quite varied in terms of choice of dishes. The assortment of fruits is not very wide: watermelon, pineapple, papaya, "dragon's eye". Coffee (boiled, not instant) of local origin, slightly unusual, but tasty. It is accompanied by condensed milk directly in cans (unusual, but nice - for lovers, of course - banks like in Russia - 380g). A feature of the restaurant of this hotel is the fact that if less than 50 rooms (out of 132 available) are occupied by guests, then the restaurant, which usually offers a full breakfast (full - in the Asian sense, of course, but soup, second, snacks, drinks , fruits, cakes - usually available), turns into a "buffet". In this case, several types of omelettes, fruits, drinks are offered - but there are no hot dishes. Fortunately, this does not happen often (for 14 days of stay, the "buffet" was only 2 days, but in a row). Then there were more guests in the hotel - and the restaurant began to work as usual.
The territory of the hotel is small, it consists of the main building, swimming pool and parking. While staying at the hotel on the opposite corner of the territory, right by the pool, something was being actively built (similar to a bar or a shop). Near the pool there is a small shower building with toilets. However, a mandatory shower before entering the pool can be taken just under a tree (a very unusual design, shower heads are built directly into the branches of a decent-sized plant), beach towels are provided near the pool, but the staff carefully monitors that they are not carried away from the hotel to the rooms and to the beach.
The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly, professional. Staff at the reception speak English. Transfers in any direction (not only to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampot and Cap, but also to the islands) can be ordered anywhere, but it is more reliable (albeit somewhat more expensive) to do this at the hotel reception.
