Everyone thought that some kind of harmful people look at life with prejudice. But in vain. Among all written, the most important and unpleasant is the location of the hotel, its remoteness from the sea. I saw somewhere, the girl wrote "the legs let us down. " Three times ha - there you can not only pump up the legs, but also tear your heart and ruin your vacation. And also visit the emergency room in the city of Yalta, which we did on the first day of rest. The road to the sea runs through an abandoned park - in such a park you can make films about maniacs without surroundings)). First you need to go down 90 steps, then down the park, then down the winding road all the time, then the killer iron staircase awaits. We go down to the beach along it. The steps at the stairs are located far from each other, so at a height of five meters you have to cling to the handrails and not look down. There is another entry to the beach there, along wooden walkways, but it is far from Cedar and the bus station. Return back along the same road, only all the time up, in the heat. We went to the beach only in the morning or only in the evening, because going there twice a day is hellish hell. I don’t know who wrote that not everything is so scary with the rise - maybe it was the athletes who wrote? Rainbow Beach is the closest, it is narrow, maximum people lie in two rows, one row right under the mountain. On the beach, pebbles mixed with stones, mud, gobies, dried corn cobs. By the way, the corn is delicious, it costs 80 rubles. There are several sunbeds on the beach, the struggle for which is not a joke, one sunbed costs 50 rubles a day. A unkempt beach, what to say, all the sunbeds are gouged, and they will not get it. What are the designated smoking areas? Someone posted this in a review. All the places are allotted there)) I saw only one urn. There are large boulders in the sea and if you swim without slippers, it is easy to beat off your legs and toenails, some boulders are covered with algae and slippery. It is especially inconvenient when it is stormy, and it often storms. For several days we didn’t go to the beach at all, there was a strong storm. During the storm, boulders and a concrete slab washed ashore, I think it will lie there for a long time. There is no one to take care of the beach.
Now about the hotel itself. The rooms are renovated, the furniture is Ikeevskaya, there is a laminate on the floor, there is a refrigerator. On the balcony, a plastic table and two chairs are barely squeezed in. I had a room on the fourth floor overlooking the bushes. The room is small. He may be 14 meters, but everything is back to back, it seems the kitchen is larger at home. The TV set is tiny, often ripples, but there are a lot of programs. Housekeeping is good, everything is clean. The maid is friendly and pleasant. They clean, as already mentioned, every three days, on the fourth, then they change the bed. Foot towels are changed every day and the trash is taken out. Squirrels are jumping around the territory, so cool, nimble. Only for the camera - they were gone.
The night at the hotel starts right after dinner. There is darkness and silence. You can't make noise. Orders in the hotel camp. Those. You feel like you are in a pioneer camp. A wonderful-looking security guard-pioneer leader walks around the territory and controls who goes to bed at what time and conducts conversations about the dangers of smoking. If you go up to the roof, where the tables are, it's right there. He controls who sits, how he sits, what he drinks and how much, what they talk about, you need to talk in a whisper, children are strictly forbidden to laugh after 23.00. You can’t smoke on the balcony, a fine of a hundred thousand - his words. Where this number comes from is unknown. I wonder where he goes when women carry their suitcases upstairs themselves? But tongue scratching is easier than helping.
The mattress in the room is hard. It may be useful, but it is uncomfortable to sleep. Springs are felt on all sides. Hearing is lousy. The air conditioner on the opposite side of the bed, if turned on, blows straight into the head and nothing can be done. The balcony was opened. The door must be supported so that it does not close. The conversations of neighbors, squeaks and screams of children, coughing - all this is heard, as if everything is happening in your room. You won't be able to sleep after dinner. In the morning you wake up with the early kids, at half past seven. Down the corridor, if someone passes by - a roar. Everything is somehow crowded, the balconies are side by side (that’s why you can’t smoke, it’s understandable), the walls are thin, telephone conversations are heard by everyone. We have to adjust to the children's schedule. Get up at seven, at nine "Good night" and sleep. Here is a pioneer camp for you. You can’t sit with wine in the evening, you can’t talk, you can’t laugh - everyone can hear everything. Hence the silence in the evening in the hotel, everyone is talking in a whisper.
The price includes breakfast, but it's not. For example: semolina casserole with minced meat inside - it's not possible to eat. Or scrambled eggs, but they are dry. Or mashed potatoes. Cottage cheese casserole. Chicken cutlet and coleslaw. I don’t remember further, but the menu is designed for a week, then it repeats. The meals are very tasty. I can’t forget borscht with donuts, okroshka, chicken soup with noodles at home, pilaf - everything is very tasty. A little friendliness would not hurt the chefs. But, on the other hand, do they have to smile and say hello to everyone? )) Sometimes it was inconvenient to come to eat, they all look like “all sorts of people walk here, they interfere with sleep. ” The cost of lunch is 250 rubles per person. Dinner can be ordered from the menu, but we didn't go. Nearby there is a cafe "Veterok" - you can have dinner there, the cost is about 1000 rubles for two. You can walk into the city center. Center is one thing. Walk not far, 10-15 minutes. Through an eerie-looking abandoned sanatorium. In the center there is a restaurant "Karamba" - good, but expensive. You can't eat there economically, that's for sure. There are a lot of cafes there, they make pilaf on the street, they fry something... Economically, these are street eateries where you don’t want to go at all. Everyone will choose something suitable for themselves. There is nowhere else at the station besides Veterok. Something was closed, something was in the process of opening at that time. There are shops at the station, tents with various souvenirs.
In the evening, when darkness sets in, there are places where you cannot pass without a flashlight. Or without an iPhone)) In short, whoever has something, turn it on, it's very dark, you can't see anything at all except the stars.
We went on excursions through An-Tur - Bakhchisaray, Livadia and Massandra palaces. They themselves took a taxi and went to the Swallow's Nest - it cost 1000 rubles both ways, the driver was waiting. We also went with a driver to Ai-Petri and back, and there we went up on the cable car. The beauty. Buses were running, but crowded. I did not dare to ride in them. But people went, someone is fine. Excursions are well organized, everything is interesting.
In general, Crimea is beautiful, but I won’t go again. Maybe I chose the wrong place, mountainous. It's kind of abandoned. There is still a lot to invest in to put in order. Repair roads, fix steps, improve parks, clean beaches. Nature, mountains, sea views from the mountains - it's great, but that's all. The sea is dirty, who wrote that it is clean? Waves bring some garbage. If in the morning it is still clean, after an hour it is already cloudy, something is floating. Unpleasant.
In total, the trip cost me and my daughter 100.000 rubles for two weeks at the beginning of August 2015. Plane tickets 24.000 round trip Moscow-Simferopol-Moscow, accommodation 32.000, the rest was spent on excursions, transfers and trips. When planning finances, I advise you to count on 3000 per day for two people, no less. Everything is very unreasonably expensive. The price-quality ratio suffers.

At the bus station there are several hardware and grocery stores, stalls with local fruits and vegetables, souvenir shops. As well as several restaurants and cafes. At the bus station, you can order an excursion to almost anywhere in the peninsula. To the Vorontsov Palace - 15 minutes. To the pier, from where the boats go - 20 minutes. To Yalta by boat - about an hour, by minibus - 40 minutes. In principle, I liked everything very much. Recommend to lovers of a quiet relaxing family holiday.

By the way, we ordered both lunch and dinner there, so that we had no problems with food, which is quite important on vacation! Everything was very tasty, home-style, the dishes are quite simple, but VERY satisfying, and yes, what I want to note is that the portions are very large, so that we didn’t go hungry for a minute =)) Just some kind of sanatorium. Thanks!!!
And the air there, mmmmm... , is just wonderful, and the cedar in the yard, and Mount Ai-Petri is nearby, and what an open observation deck there is, the view is just wonderful at the sea!
The most important thing: the house of the sea is 10 minutes on foot, through the square, back longer, because. uphill (Alupka - almost all of it), but these are trifles. But by the end of the vacation, the legs become so pumped up that it’s a pleasure to look at! =) And rest and fitness.
Within walking distance of the Vorontsov Palace, it's worth a visit!
And the staff are absolutely wonderful people, thank you very much for our such a wonderful vacation, it’s only a pity that two weeks of this bliss flew by so quickly.
The hotel provides a transfer service, which we used, we were met, and then taken back to the Simferopol railway station, by an absolutely wonderful driver - Dmitry! Dima, thank you very much!
So we all liked it very much, we recommend it!
P. S. Thanks again and we hope to see you soon!!!

Everything you read in the reviews on this site and others is true.
The room is small, but not cramped, snow-white towels and bedding.
Daily change of towels for feet and removal of garbage.
Every three days wet cleaning, change of bedding and towels.
The manager is very clear about everything.
The cafeteria is beautiful and the food is delicious. Prices are reasonable compared to other cafes in the area.
I would not say that large portions for breakfast. Normal. My husband always supplemented himself with butter / cheese / sausage sandwiches, and we also bought additional vegetables from the market. For breakfast, bread is served in unlimited quantities - and it's very convenient! And the cost of bread is never included in the bill for lunch or dinner. A trifle - but indicative! : )
In the dining room there is a large kettle-thermos with hot water, which can be filled at any time during the day and in the evening.
The pearl of the hotel is the terrace with solarium on the roof. We had breakfast there every day, sometimes sunbathed, or just rested and admired the GORGEOUS view. Our view from the balcony "into the bushes" was more than compensated by the beautiful terrace!
Municipal beaches with a large stretch can be called equipped. Sunbeds for a fee. The toilet on the beach "Raduga" is a dilapidated "hole" toilet, located behind the cheburek stall in the mountain. I must say that garbage is constantly taken out on the beach, more or less clean, there are smoking areas, and most importantly, people adhere to this order. In September there were terribly many people and children.
The location is good, near the fruit market, there are shops, near the bus station. And of course the magnificent Alupka and Vorontsovsky parks.
With children, in my opinion, going to the beach will be tiring. And a small segment of the way you have to go along the road without a sidewalk. It’s not convenient at all with strollers, because. many dilapidated steps, pits and curbs.
In Alupka, one must always be attentive and careful on the road, because. there are no sidewalks for pedestrians, cars rush quickly.
As cons, but with a very big stretch, we can name the following. In the form of a wish:
1. I want the presence of blankets. The sheets and blankets given out for sheltering caused strange unpleasant feelings.
2. We ask the administration to have a conversation with the cook and the waiter about goodwill, smiles, friendliness! This is the dining room! They are wonderful people, but I always went to the dining room with the feeling that I was straining the staff very much (especially when taking an order for dinner). The chef's comments from the kitchen were heard in the hall.
After the rest, I recommended this hotel to all my friends!
Good combination of price / quality!

I was looking for a hotel for a long time, so we decided to go to Alupka thanks to the reviews about Kedr and were not mistaken.
Cedar did not disappoint, everything is as presented on their website. By the way, there are really 2 sites, but as I understand it, one is located on the Ukrainian server and was created for residents of Ukraine, and the other for Russia).
We booked a one-room suite with a sea view in advance (in April), without any problems, sent an advance payment for 1 day to the Sberbank card, upon arrival, this amount was naturally credited in the final calculation.
The hotel is really close to the bus station, the building is new, furniture, plumbing, air conditioning, hot water (water heater) everything works, everything is fine.
The view of the sea is amazing, but since this side is south, it is hot, we had to close the curtains during the day, so from the window the view of the sea is only in the morning and in the evening. In the evening we often went up to the observation deck on the roof, there are tables, chairs, sun loungers, you can bring dinner there and arrange a romantic evening.
The staff is polite, friendly and unobtrusive.
Cleaning and change of linen with towels (white! ) after 3 days, garbage removal - daily. Which is quite enough.
Meals in the cafe, which is located on the 1st floor. Breakfast is hearty and varied, quite sufficient, my husband ate his fill. Chefs are great! They cook very tasty, at home, many thanks to them - I took a break from the kitchen, and my husband was full and satisfied (every time we ordered a new dish for dinner, my husband tried it and was surprised that EVERYTHING, without exception, was delicious). I really liked the barbecue and fried red mullet, pizza and donuts are incomparable! (((I tried to cook meat with eggplant at home upon arrival - it didn’t work out just as tasty...
Dinner is prepared according to a custom menu, for two we cost about 110-14 hryvnias, lunch is prepared the same for everyone, the menu is posted daily at the stand, the cost of lunch for 1 person is 55 hryvnias (lunch consists of salad, first and second courses and a drink, white bread and black). Once again, the portions are large, quite sufficient for an adult man.
In general, the hotel is really good, the price matches the quality, without any frills, everything is simple, but everything is VERY HO-RO-SHO!! ! If we gather again in the Crimea, we will only come to Kedr-West, which I recommend to everyone!

The hotel is clean and tidy, rooms are cleaned every three days, garbage was taken away daily. At the hotel there is a cafe with average prices for Alupka, (complex lunch 55 gr. ), If you wish, you can find it cheaper, but you don’t need to go anywhere and everything is quite tasty. Breakfast was included in the price, as I understand it, the menu is divided into a week, so every day there is something new (scrambled eggs / pancakes / milk porridge). It is quite possible to bring your own alcohol or products to the cafe. Of particular note is the presence of an observation deck on the roof of the hotel. There is a small parking lot. We liked the hotel everything that was promised on the site, and then received. To the sea from the "Cedar" go min. 10 slowly, back, of course, longer. Although if you choose Alupka you need to be ready to walk up and down all the time. The hotel is located 5 min. from the bus station. It can be seen from the city that a lot has remained since Soviet times, and it could have been cleaner. Of the advantages of choosing Alupki, it is the Vorontsov Palace with a beautiful park, Mount Ai-Petri and the picturesque nature of the surrounding nature (as elsewhere in Crimea). Outside the hotel, we dined several times at the Veterok cafe, the prices are quite reasonable and, most importantly, delicious, but lunch at the DJ cafe on the beach was not impressive. We took several excursions from An-tour (you can buy it at the bus station), we liked everything, we did not regret it, I can’t say anything about others, we didn’t apply.

Cleaning every three days is not enough, because on the 3rd day you can already paint on the dust on the furniture and the floor. Beds and towels are white, changed every three days, which is quite enough. Everything is cooked fresh, the kitchen is practically open, you can see the process, lunches and dinners are ordered, you can be sure that nothing is heated, but cooked especially for you. The road to the sea passes through an abandoned square, where there are heaps of uncollected garbage and the remains of the life of dogs and people, which are constantly replenished. Even in front of the entrance, a local bum was constantly sitting on the stairs, who smelled accordingly. Therefore, walking to the sea and back is not a test for the faint of heart, there are places where old cedar trees interrupted bad smells and it was really aromatherapy. Go to the sea for about 7 minutes, to the beach, steeply down, back, vice versa. Vorontsov Palace 10 minutes walk. As for parking, it is located below, under the windows, the cars are propping each other up, so every morning you have to know whether you will go somewhere or not, it was very annoying.

4) Regarding "they don't clean every day" from the last review. . . I think that the rooms and the territory are very clean, the towels didn't have time to just get dirty, and the bedding is just snow-white. I was pleased with the mattress and the cleanest mattress cover. Do you clean your house every day?
5) By the way, we asked for a kettle and we had our own. And we also left later than the check-out time, because. Our train was in the evening. Thanks to the owners! We have already recommended the hotel to all our friends.
6) Take rooms with a sea view, with a view of the mountains, always in the shade and actually with a view of the trees : )
PS: The child told me all the way that he didn’t want to live at home, he wants to go back to the sea, I think this is the highest review : )

Disadvantages:

2. Clean, after all, not every day (every 2-3 days, you see, they go and look at the degree of contamination). In general, this does not spoil the overall picture, as I already said, cleanly.
3. Suite (second floor, overlooking the sea) is not inhabited by some. The most expensive room in the hotel, but there is no comfort, the furniture is not comfortable, the TV is small, there is not enough carpet on the floor. Before that, I lived in ordinary rooms, there are no differences. The sense of luxury disappears.
4. There are few tables on the upper platform of the new building, there are disputes between vacationers, especially in the evening.
5. We stopped in the arrangement of the hotel, but this cannot be done, we need to grow further.
Conclusion:
A good C grade hotel (probably the best in Alupka), worth the money. Been there three times already. Do not take a suite, expensive and not comfortable.
