Great hotel. Located next to Kata Beach.
Lived in a deluxe room. Very good number not a record size. Large balcony. On the balcony, to paraphrase the obscene saying, "there is no panty dryer. " Therefore, everything is on the railing and the view is appropriate. As I already wrote in one of the reviews - "the view of the Odessa courtyard from the film" Liquidation "". Badly! However, the room itself is very good. The bathroom was especially impressive. Wonderful. Safe, TV, refrigerator, umbrella, ... everything is standard. Just new and very good quality. Good hotel.
Quite a large, two-level pool. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas. But also packed with vacationers to the eyeballs. All day. From morning to evening! There are no seats! Later you will understand why.
Close to the sea (Kata). No more than 300 meters. But what! To the sea it seems to be nothing, but back! The mountain is just unbearable! I climbed a maximum of four times in all the days of my stay. This is a real mockery! That's why the pool is full.
At the exit of the hotel "helpfully" they offer to use a taxi service, including to the beach. Many take a taxi "to the beach", that is, three hundred meters. There is also a rental of mopeds, which I took advantage of.
Breakfast at the hotel left a mixed impression. To one side is a large, well-appointed restaurant. On the other hand, an extremely poor assortment. I have never met worse. At the same time, food warmers are placed at a great distance from each other, apparently to create the illusion of abundance. But in any case, you won’t die of hunger, and in ordinary life hardly any of us have such a variety for breakfast. I just compare with other hotels. Poorer really did not meet, especially considering the price of staying at the hotel.
The same three hundred meters from the hotel to civilization. Shopping, food. But the mountain is the same!
There is another reason why the pool is full of vacationers from morning to evening. For unknown reasons, Phuket has banned sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach. Previously, for 100 baht, you could rent a couple of sun loungers and an umbrella. At the same time, the entire infrastructure was attached in the form of WiFi, panicles for sweeping sand from sun loungers, simple food in the form of shrimp, corn, beer and other things. So this is all banned. And the Thais who handed over these sunbeds and umbrellas to vacationers left. But after all, rakes and brooms and garbage bags “gone” with them. Gone. But the tourists stayed. And all the rubbish of tourists remained. The coast and the sea are terribly dirty!
We used to go swimming on a small beach in the south of Phuket. Between the wind farm and the lighthouse. There used to be sun loungers, umbrellas, toilets, showers, changing cabins, food and more. We came this time and were amazed. The dirt is impassable. There are very few tourists. Who wants to wallow in this mud? At low tide, all the garbage is on the shore, and the sea is cleaner. At high tide, it's full of horror. At least a two-meter strip of garbage floats in the water! It really doesn't even come close to the Andaman Sea before the ban on sunbed rentals.
But everything has disappeared. Not only an umbrella and WiFi but also toilets. And people come to the beach for a long time. Is the answer clear? Catch up with Sochi is called. It's disgusting.
That's why people in the pool.
Now I will look for the website of the Ministry of Tourism of Thailand to write my bewilderment.
It was my first overseas trip. So I have nothing to compare with, just describe the impressions.
The lobby seemed very beautiful to me: cozy sofa beds, a nice fountain.
Our family decided to take a superior room with two beds. As the agency told us, we will have a room with a sea view. upon arrival there it turned out that they do not have such rooms at all. For example, the view from my sister's room was much nicer (over the pool) and it cost less.
The rooms are beautiful, with a large loggia, TV, refrigerator.
Upon arrival, it turned out that something had happened to our room and they gave us another room for the night and treated us to a free dinner for this. Dinner, however, was Thai (I did not really like it).
Then we were moved to our room. Every day you left a tip of about 20-30 baht, and the agency also promised us that for the tip the staff would give us various figurines from towels, but this was only on the day of arrival. They didn’t clean our room any cleaner, and in general they didn’t change the accessories very carefully, they constantly forgot something.
As for nutrition. Breakfast, like everywhere else, was a buffet. I liked the breakfasts, lots of choice and, in principle, delicious. Sometimes we also dined at the hotel, but for lunch they cooked there so-so, and it was also expensive. I would especially like to note the staff of the restaurant: very smiling and hospitable.
About the territory. There are three swimming pools, one large (relative to the others, in fact, not very large), one smaller and one paddling pool, there is a children's room (also so-so), a gym, a games room (with table football and billiards).
And the most important feature (I don’t know, minus or plus) is that in order to get from the beach to the hotel, you have to walk decently uphill, and this is hard, especially when relaxing, in the heat and with children.
Well, a few words about the beach. I have never met such a good beach before (later, however, during excursions around the islands, we met even better). The sand is white pleasant, the water is clean, the sea is moderately wavy.
Well, excursions. It seems to me that you should not spare money on them, Thailand is worth it. Unusual nature, incredible beauty of the island and interesting culture. I fell in love with Thailand. This is truly a magical land!
1. Steep hill. Rest better without children.
2. Working pool at night. Noisy.
3. Style. Lots of black. The waiters are all in black, tables, walls, foyer are black with dark brown. All of this is a bit overwhelming. 4. you need to work with the staff. The staff is not well trained, sometimes too intrusive and friendly. They say hello in English, although I think they should in Thai.
4. I think it is necessary to completely replace the bed linen, there are already mended holes on it and in some places spots that are no longer washed off.
4. to the beach 5-7 minutes walk, but it is to the edge of the beach. Boats park there and few people rest. You need to spank at least to the hotel club honey. It's better there. See google map. 5. upon arrival at the reception, sometimes it smelled of kangaroo. True, then the air was filled with aromatic oils.
Advantages.
1. Location next to the two beaches of Kata and Karon. also not far from the kata noi, which we liked the most, along with the katani. 2. there are many good restaurants nearby. Two chefs, Mali, Buffalo, Sorento. the two chefs are the best. 3. numbers are normal. Everything works, clean and on time. 4. food is ordinary. No poisoning, as they wrote in some reviews. 4. attentive, responsive manager Elena. Work for 5.
In general, a solid four. You can go.
The Avista Resort & Spa 4 hotel just zashybis.
Friends, relax in Thailand and do not think.
1. The first point of the trip was Fr. Phuket. In the first four days we lived at the Avista Resort and Spa 4 * hotel, picturesquely located between the beaches of Kata and Karon on a hill. I really liked the hotel - new, clean, the rooms are simply gorgeous, the food and service are at a high level.
2. On the fifth day, we move smoothly to the center of Phuket's active life - Patong. The choice of a hotel here was not easy and eventually settled in Poppa Palace. For the most part, the name of the hotel corresponds to its level ...especially in contrast to the previous Avista. We stayed in Pope for two days...: )
3. The seventh day was marked by departure from Popa and moving to the picturesque island of Phi Phi. Here is a settlement in Banyan Villa.
Banyan is a sacred tree among Buddhists, the tree under which the Buddha received enlightenment. Well, so we got here, although not enlightenment, but we saw the light from the beauty of the island and the comfort of the hotel, which is located on the island simply luxuriously - between the two main beaches of the island on the very isthmus = in the center of the life of the island. You can write about Phi Phi for a long time, so let's move from this paradise on earth, in which we stayed for two days, further.
4. Swim to Krabi. Accommodation at Phra Nang Inn. A good hotel of the Inn chain, with decent service, very interesting rooms (the room is not far from the big bed with a bathtub hung with canopies : ) and the best location on Ao Nang.
5. Further flight to the capital and check-in at the Navalai River hotel. A good city hotel with a rooftop pool, located right at the water tram stop number 13, which greatly simplified and speeded up moving around the metropolis.
The hotel restaurant is located on a floating pantone, which is also quite funny for people who do not suffer from seasickness.
That's all in a nutshell. Hotels interested us the least, but about the most interesting thing for us - excursions, travels and wanderings, I didn’t write in this review at all ...maybe in a separate review, if anyone is interested. . .
