My wife and friends and I came to India for the first time. Before leaving, everyone told us: Goa is not India and where are you going? There is mud and disease! ». But, as we say, "hunting is worse than captivity" - I really wanted to look at the country of Mowgli (although Kipling Mowgli wrote in Ceylon, where we were already).

But, as we say, "hunting is worse than captivity" - I really wanted to look at the country of Mowgli (although Kipling Mowgli wrote in Ceylon, where we were already).
Why Goa is not considered India, the guide Glory told us on a tour of Old Goa. And after visiting Hampi, we agreed with this statement. But the Salt Vacation Hotel turned out to be just wonderful.
Personnel. This is the first thing we encountered arriving on a night flight. We were accommodated without waiting for 14-00 (check-in time). Then they moved at our request. The first room smelled strongly of mold and we were able to endure it for only 2 hours. Then we went to change. There were no free rooms and we were moved to the villa without taking any extra charges.
In the restaurant, by the pool, security - everywhere the staff was also very friendly, but in Indian language slow.
We quickly got used to the slowness and asked for further help from the staff only where we could not do it ourselves.
Restaurant, food. A very pleasant surprise for me was the restaurant with its buffet menu (or as they are called "buffet") for breakfast and dinner. Our food was on. Therefore, there was some risk that the food would be conditionally edible. But the menu exceeded all expectations. Even traditionally poor breakfasts offered local edible dishes of potatoes, pancakes, legumes. Fruits of 3 types (pineapple, papaya, watermelon), 2 types of juice (one of them is fresh watermelon), sweets, cereals and more. For dinner, the menu allowed you to choose from local cuisine chicken, fish or vegetables. The dishes changed a little day by day. So in 10 days I did not get bored.
Surprised by the lack of fresh vegetables for breakfast and their meager offer for dinner (usually one salad "Greek Caesar", which had a very distant relationship with the original of the same name).
The soups and dishes on the menu for lunch were also very tasty. So before the siesta we returned from the beach and preferred to have lunch at the hotel restaurant.
Location. It turned out to be very successful. The road to the beach took us 5-7-10 minutes to crawl. We did not go to the central beach, but turned twice to the left, went to the beach neck Boomerang. In the neck they occupied the deckchairs under the canopy by ordering three cups of coffee for five (that was enough, and the coffee was excellent). There is an Ayurvedic pharmacy opposite the hotel. People even came to it from other settlements. It was also close to the fruit shop: from the hotel on the left and on the road without returning approximately as to the beach.
Well, for an evening walk after dinner it was more interesting to walk past the shops in the center.
Numbers. Standard. Our friends' triple room was twice as big as our double room. The villa, where we were initially accommodated for a few days, can accommodate 5 people.
2 rooms. One huge with a bed of immeasurable size. The second is small with 2 beds, but with a separate toilet in the room. I can't complain about the cleaning of the rooms, we cleaned regularly regardless of whether we left a tip on the bed or not (a couple of times we forgot to leave more the next day). The soundproofing in the hotel is normal. We could not hear loud neighbors from above. Yes, and our room was with access to the pool, which at first scared the possibility of high-profile companies. But it all worked out.
Summing up the impression: I will be happy to go to this hotel if the opportunity arises.

Nice hotel, no problems. Checked in even earlier than expected without additional costs, as our room was free. They cleaned the room every day, it took about 10 minutes to walk to the beach. We rented a scooter, rode all over Goa, so we only spent the night and had breakfast in hotels. I recommend him, in Colva he seemed to me one of the best.

Hello everyone, well, the road from the airport to the hotel takes about half an hour, the hotel gave a chocolate bar and instead of a deluxe they gave a luxury room - I don’t know if it was an accident, or the power of chocolate, but I was very pleased. I will say that the reception itself and the entrance to the hotel, of course, are not impressive, BUT - the territory of the hotel IS, unlike many others in Goa, and secondly, the hotel is simply buried in greenery, beautiful shrubs such as ferns and palm trees.

Quite a good pool, which is very warm even without heating - to be honest, it could even be cooled, the sun loungers near the pool are pretty good, new and 4 white ones a la pavilions, but with beds - a strange contraction, but interesting ) Cleaning: everything is like clockwork with this - they clean well and every day - regardless of the tip - left, the result is the same if nothing is left, +2 bottles of drinking water, coffee, cream, tea, sugar in the room are replenished daily. Breakfasts: fruits - watermelon, pineapples, papaya - every day, fruits do not change much, omelettes with bacon or sausages - fried in front of you, instant coffee - nescafe - it's amazing how little coffee is in a bag, you need to pour at least two, there is a paid custard - it seems like a buck for a cup, in general breakfasts are more or less, there is food, not very varied, but you won’t leave hungry - there are tables on the summer playground, there are inside, just be careful on the street in terms of crows - they yearn for food there without ceremony) To the sea : go from the hotel to the right to the main road, again to the right and you are at the Arabian Sea - that is, in fact - well, in 5 minutes with slow walking you will reach - but I think that the hotel is closer to the sea than they write about it about the terrible 400 meters - it is close to the beach and at the same time removed from the bustle and from the main road, where cars rush endlessly - so I think that the hotel is just ideally located. Regarding excursions - we decided not to bother - and asked the receptionist to go with us for 20 ye and act as a guide + taxi - he ordered - 50 ye - but we went all day from 10 to 7 - to north goa. We were on 7 beaches in North Goa, and to be honest, there is simply no more beautiful beach than in Colva, such white, yellow, snow-like sand, rustling, and I was also very surprised that it was impossible to go to the end of the coast and that in within a radius of 100 meters - either there is no one on the beach or there will be one family, since mostly Indians swim near the main entrance to the beach. Very beautiful sunsets - the sun really sets before our eyes. It's amazing how this is possible, but it's real)) Regarding food, we went to Sukorina and Silver Spoon, at the entrance to the beach - Silver Spoon to the right, Sukorina to the left, prices are slightly cheaper in Sukorin - slightly, + spend there every 2 day, a disco (Russian music is everywhere) and fireworks, and in Spoon they take out tables directly to the sea with candles - and it turns out very romantic, for two to have dinner and alcohol - 12 dollars is enough. Freshly squeezed juices for a dollar, and on the street by the road it’s even cheaper) Have a good rest, positive impressions - if you forgot something, write - I’ll be happy to share my observations) And Separately Thank you to the Marenychs)

We rested at the hotel from 1.02. 2012-12.02. 2012. We arrived at the hotel at 5 am and after half an hour we were already settled without any additional payments. Room on the ground floor next to the pool.
Room amenities: TV, DVD, air conditioning, fan. refrigerator, kettle-cups. Every day they gave water - a bottle per person. Cosmetics were updated every day (gel, shampoo, soap, hand cream. )
Beach-4 min. Hasty step. The first half of the day was spent at the Boomerang shek, there were very few people near it, quiet and calm, unlike Silver Spoon and Alexa, where noise and movement begin in the morning. We dined and dined mainly at the Alex cafe and Silver Spoon - very tasty, excellent service, Alex has great prices : ). - The average price of a dinner with fish and alcohol for two is $ 20-25, in Boomerang a little more expensive. We went on excursions with taxi drivers - very cool. I recommend GOA, Colva and Soul Vacation to everyone! Have a nice rest!

I was vacationing in South Goa at the Soul Vacation Hotel in the second half of November 2009. I would like to note the fraudulent actions of the Intourist tour operator. When selling the voucher, the duration of the holiday was indicated as 13 days / 12 nights, while the time of departure of the aircraft was not indicated. Subsequently, it turned out that the flight there was at 23:00, and back at 6:00 in the morning. That is, firstly, I was really only 11 days at the resort. Secondly, 2 of the declared 12 nights were spent on the plane and the airport, after which the day became nothing.
We were unlucky with the weather: contrary to long-term forecasts, it rained for the first few days, there was even a thunderstorm.
The hotel consists of 5 two-story buildings, 2 of which do not have balconies or terraces. It is in them that the Russians are settled. I had to dry my swimwear either on the beach under an umbrella, or near the pool on the bushes. Foreigners book their seats in advance. Many bags of tea, coffee, dry cream, sugar and 2 bottles of drinking water are brought to the room daily. It's free. On the first day, they also fill the refrigerator with drinks and various drugs - for a fee. Demand an inventory of these products or even remove them immediately. Otherwise, when leaving, local scammers will say that you owe something. Inexpensive, but for what? On the beach every day you can ask for towels at the reception or take them from the sunbeds near the pool. Hairdryer, iron, breakfast cereals (on excursions and early departures) also ask at the reception. The fumigator in the room was not turned on as unnecessary. There were no ants, although crumbs from food remained.
The hotel is located in the village of Kolva, on a street parallel to the shore and abutting the main one overlooking the beach. There are always a lot of locals at the exit point, there are water rides for them. Tourists disperse to the right or left to catering points (necks), near which sunbeds with foam mattresses, umbrellas, and tables are installed. The guide recommended me to go to the left to the neck of Sucorina. They have their own massage therapist Dani. The cost of massage is 500 rupees for about 40 minutes. In the Ayurveda salon opposite the hotel, in 80 minutes they do the same massage with the same oils, but for 1500 rupees. True, at the same time, something is poured on the forehead for 5 minutes and you sweat in a barrel (sauna) for another 5 minutes.
There are many shops in Colva, currency exchange offices (the exchange rate was 68 rupees per euro, 44.5-45.5 rupees per dollar, at the airport - 40), pharmacies, cafes, Internet access points with telephone booths. You can buy textiles, souvenirs either in the village or at the weekly flea market in Anjuna by haggling no more than 200 Russian rubles per unit of goods.
Nutrition. In all cafes and necks, the menu is almost the same, but the prices differ. The menu sections: Chinese cuisine, Indian, Goan, etc. And in each of them, the names of dishes are duplicated: rice with shrimp, shrimp with rice, etc. In fact, they differ in the presence and amount of spices. Therefore, to demand from the waiter, for example, Chinese shrimp without spices is as stupid as Russian vodka from rice. If you don’t want spices, don’t look at the menu, just order what you would like.
Many attribute their indisposition to bad food, although the main reason is solar radiation, which penetrates the stomach and intestines not only through the skin, but also through clothes, an umbrella...
A $60 waterfall/spice tour is a bit pricey, but the guide told us a lot and answered all my questions. The road itself is not comfortable, especially on the off-road nature reserve in a jeep (40 minutes one way). The trail to the waterfall is full of monkeys in different places - do not linger at the very beginning. If you don’t plan an excursion to the elephants separately, you can take pictures with the elephants (ask the guide) on this excursion as well. The local spice guide tells a lot of useful things - it’s better to write it down, you won’t regret it. Women were especially focused when they showed a plant, 2 pinches of which excite a man, and 4 pinch them to sleep.
