I'll start with the good (and there are a lot more good ones than bad ones). We arrived at the hotel around 13:00, we were given a room in about an hour, although formally they should have been given after 15:00. There were no problems during check-in. The room was good, as in the picture, quite spacious.

I'll start with the good (and there are a lot more good ones than bad ones).
We arrived at the hotel around 13:00, we were given a room in about an hour, although formally they should have been given after 15:00. There were no problems during check-in. The room was good, as in the picture, quite spacious. The furniture and plumbing are new, the room is clean, bedding and towels are changed every day. The room had a hairdryer, a kettle, all the time the maids added tea, instant coffee, sugar.
The hotel has a convenient location. 5 minutes walk and you are near Russell Square tube station (Piccadilly line). By the way, there is always an employee on duty at the metro station who will help you use ticket machines. He helped us buy an Oyster Travel Card 7 Days (that's what it's called). You pay 35 pounds, and you can travel for a week without restrictions on the underground within zones 1 and 2, and this is the entire historical center of London, as well as by bus. And then you can add money to this card, and at the end of your stay in London you can return it (again, the duty officer at the tube station will help) and get back 5 pounds for the card.
There is a bus stop near the hotel, and bus number 91 will take you to Trafalgar Square in 15 minutes (you need to go towards the Russell Square metro).
London sightseeing buses also depart from the nearby Royal National Hotel.
I will add that there is a pleasant square right opposite the entrance to the hotel.
There is a Tesco store near the metro station itself, and a little aside (but also nearby) there is a very large White Rose supermarket. In general, there are many cafes near the hotel, including the huge Royal National Hotel. So the issue of nutrition can be easily and quickly resolved.
But the food in the hotel itself is the only thing that is not very good. The continental breakfasts included in the price are very poor. You will be given cereal (2 types), toasted toast, not very tasty buns, very cold milk, juice, tea, coffee. There is really a solution to this problem: pay extra 5 pounds per person, and get access to English breakfast. It will be additionally oatmeal, eggs in three states (scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, just boiled eggs), fried ham and sausages, sometimes fish and something like stewed vegetables. This can fill you up well, but that's an extra 5 pounds a day. And this food may not suit everyone. Although we took an English breakfast, and it suited us just fine.
By the way, you can order a taxi at the hotel (you need to say "mini cab"), and it will be cheaper than a traditional black London taxi, by about a third.
So I recommend the hotel. If I were in London again, I would settle in it
