In my personal opinion, one of the most decent hotels in Patong.
And so the standard Ibis: clean, tidy, convenient location.
There is no deposit.
5 minutes walk to Patong Beach.
On the territory of the hotel there is a machine with grain (! ) coffee.
The pool is not very big but clean.
Cleanliness everywhere and in everything, delicious food, dined at the hotel.
For children there is a section in the hotel.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the territory.
We looked at the Standard and Family rooms. Standard, maximum 20 sq. m, it has a bp safe, a small balcony, flooring - tiles. Water, tea and coffee are replenished every day in the room. There is no mini bar in the room.
Standard - Family is a little larger, everything is the same, but there are bunk beds for children.
The hotel is well suited for those who are not very interested in the size of the rooms, but the location to the sea is extremely important.
We had no problems with the return of the deposit.
Don't be put off by the first impression: yes, the rooms are small, but very compact and cozy.
In a standard room: a large bed, a wardrobe, a safe, a mini-bar, a TV set, bedside tables, a bathroom with a toilet and a shower.
The room also has a tea set and an electric kettle, hair dryer, bath accessories: soap, shower gel, shampoo.
There is a small balcony where you can dry your swimwear and beach towels. Smoking is only allowed on the balcony. The restaurant, lobby and lobby are non-smoking.
The hotel has: a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool with sun loungers, a lobby with a free wi-fi zone, an internet corner with several computers (for a fee).
There is no porter, so roll your own suitcases to your room.
The room has good air conditioning: 3 modes.
Every day, 2 glass bottles of mineral water are placed in the minibar. Towels are changed regularly - throw dirty ones on the floor. Beach towels are changed at the reception upon request.
If you are afraid of insects, do not leave food in the room, put it in the minibar or throw it away immediately.
At the reception there is a notice board called "Message". Look at it, sometimes there may be messages for you. The room number is usually written on it, and the message itself can already be obtained from the managers at the reception.
Tips for maids: we left 40-50 baht a day.
Standard breakfasts: juices, tea, coffee, milk, cereals, buns, toast, fruits (watermelon, pineapple, bananas, papaya, dragon), eggs (fried eggs and scrambled eggs), rice, pasta, vegetables, pancakes, ham, 2 types of soup .
It seems that on Tuesdays and Thursdays they arrange Italian dinners (for a fee - 250 baht): buffet - 3 types of pasta, 4 types of pizza, lasagna, toast, salad.
The room suited us just fine.
By the way, the hotel is international, there are not so many Russians there.
Swimming and sunbathing went to Patong beach, from the hotel go left along the road for 5 minutes. Once we went to Karon Beach by tuk-tuk, where, of course, the water is cleaner and more transparent, and you can see how the fish frolic, but the entry into the sea is steeper and the waves are stronger, and then we didn’t find a toilet with a shower there, and their necks are generally terrible.
But back to Patong Beach. Umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach for a fee of 100 baht. The beach itself is free, if you don't want to pay - throw your towel right on the sand and settle down there, no one will tell you anything.
Beach boys are friendly and helpful, they will clean your sunbeds from sand, move umbrellas, run away for drinks, of course, they will not refuse a tip (20 baht).
Water activities: parasailing, jet skiing, banana and tablet riding (average cost 1000-1500 baht).
There are toilets and showers on the beach (for a fee).
Be sure to try Coconut milk (coconut milk), as well as a wide variety of fruits and necks: pineapple, orange, mango, watermelon, melon ...
It is possible that you will soon get tired of necks: too much ice and water. We bought fresh juices only in two places: from fruit merchants. Fresh juice is not served in restaurants, even if you say "fresh juice", they will pour it out of a bag for you).
You can and should bargain with merchants on the beach, with the exception of food and drinks, where prices are fixed. Do not buy souvenirs on the beach - they are cheaper in souvenir shops.
You can safely buy food, drinks and fruits on the beach. We didn't get sick during our entire vacation.
One cool merchant walks along the beach: he sells fresh juices in square plastic bottles, be sure to buy something from him, he has very tasty juices: carrot, passion fruit and mango.
There is also one cool merchant, he walks along the beach and sings: "And yu hangri?
"(like: are you hungry? ) he has good shrimp and battered chicken and a very cheap - budget lunch option on the beach.
There is a cafe near the beach. Fish restaurants are located across the road from the beach. True, we didn’t eat in them: firstly, next to the road, secondly, the brazier smokes too much, and then we don’t like fish fried to coals, and it’s not clear where they wash their hands and dishes there. In short, we are squeamish. Therefore, they either bought ready-made food in a package, or went to a restaurant with a normal "stationary" kitchen.
By the way, on the way from the hotel to the beach there is a good and not expensive restaurant (on the left), beautiful paintings with naked girls hang there, and the Germans love to eat in this restaurant, the portions are huge.
A good fish restaurant is a little further, look left again. There is live music in the evenings, and they serve: lobsters, lopsters, crabs, shrimps, mussels, fish, they also have very tasty salads and coffee.
In the evening, a cheerful Thai sells pancakes near the hotel, with your choice of toppings. Very tasty - must try.
In the evening we ate fruit. We bought sliced mango, watermelon, melon, pineapple and also took fresh juices. This dinner is good for those who are afraid to get better. Because we ate in fish restaurants.
Nightlife on Bangla Road.
Bars: drinks are cheap, prices are different everywhere, the list of drinks is about the same for everyone. In the bars you can play various board games, compete in driving nails, meet Thai girls. In some bars, girls are dancing at the pole, though they are dressed.
Go-go and ping pong clubs: strippers usually dance in go-go, and ping-pong is an amateur spectacle, it’s probably worth seeing once than telling.
We went to different clubs. In some frank brothel. In others, the girls danced in two pairs of underpants and two bras (it was very chaste).
Of all the clubs we were in, we liked: Ekzotika (by the way, there is a ping-pong show there) and Suzy Wong.
Even on Bangla road you can see an unlucky magician, take pictures with trances or with a baby gibbon (little monkey) - this is closer to someone)).
Discos: honestly tried to find a club where people would have fun and dance, but did not find one. They have NO disco. Neither in Tiger, nor in Tie Pan, nor in any other place (I don’t remember the name of the club), people did not light up, they mostly stupidly drank their “drinks”, just like in street bars.
There is also Thai boxing. But we did not go to it, this is an amateur spectacle.
Thais have a strong accent, they speak English somehow in a singsong voice, so it is sometimes difficult to understand what they are saying.
Tip: take your hotel business card with you to show the taxi driver where to take you from Bangla Road.
Tours.
If you are in Thailand for the first time, then you will be offered a free sightseeing tour.
In fact, this is a shopping tour: a rubber plantation - you can buy pillows and mattresses, a snake farm - snakeskin bags, traditional Thai medicine and cosmetics, a fruit market - fruits, a jewelry factory - jewelry made of gold and silver, pearls.
Be sure to go to one of the islands: Similan Islands, James Bond, Pee Pee, Coral. Beautiful nature, snorkeling (swimming with a tube and a mask), relaxing on the cleanest beach and swimming in clear water. You can take very beautiful photos.
Khao Lak: If you want to ride elephants in the jungle and ride a raft on the river. This is an amazing adventure.
Farms: snake, crocodile, pearl.
Phuket gardens: orchids.
There are also tours of Buddhist temples.
Your guide will surely provide you with information about possible excursions. We did not buy excursions from locals, because we heard bad reviews about them from other tourists and decided not to risk it.
If you want to bring fruit home from Thailand, then they sell special baskets for them. Take bananas still green, they will ripen in flight. The mango will go bad while you are carrying it. It is better to take fruit in your hand luggage or carefully pack it in a suitcase and check it in your luggage.
What to bring from Thailand: souvenirs, tea, Tropicana cold-pressed coconut oil (take more - a cool thing, you can take it orally, you can use it for cosmetic purposes).
Silk - that's just high-quality silk things in souvenir shops are not sold, and at the airport silk scarves are priced from 2000 baht.
Handbags, wallets, belts made of snake or crocodile skin.
Jewelry, if finances allow.
Flowers - in duty free they sell orchids in boxes, it is quite possible to bring them home.
