I chose Lombok as a beach holiday, inexpensive, but serene and comfortable, even "vegetable", on a busy tour of Southeast Asia, so it was very important for me how the hotel was located, because I planned to spend five days on the seashore. Long hesitated between the Sheraton and this hotel. The decisive factor was marine diversity. The Senggiggy Beach Hotel is located on the spit and guests get "three in one" - on the right is a sandy beach with sun loungers, a restaurant and live music, but the sea is worried, I don’t really like that; on the left - smooth as glass, the sea with a beautiful reef and underwater life - if you want to swim, if you want to dive; in the center, at the end of the spit, there is a sufficient wave for surfing. On the left and in the center, the coast is concreted with beautiful round stones. There is no place to lie down there.
There is a pool, but I found it boring.
The hotel consists of two-story buildings, one-story bungalows and luxury villas with a separate area.
We took a simple, inexpensive room, but with a sea view. The sea, unfortunately, is practically invisible from the room, the view is limited by lush vegetation. It was possible not to overpay.
The room is quite spacious, all wooden, not new, but not shabby either. On the balcony there are armchairs with soft seats, a table, a clothes dryer. But nothing dries, because it's wet. We rented clothes for washing, they wash very well. They bring clean or on a coat hanger, or in a wicker box. Inexpensive and fast. Pick up in the morning - ready for dinner.
Vodichka, tea, coffee replenished every day. With cosmetics tension. Either shampoo or shower gel - there was 1 bottle. And something on the little things - soap, a shower cap. Weak with this, as for 4 stars. 2 towels, not the best quality. But not the worst, as we later managed to compare in Bali. There are slippers. Very interesting flip flops with rubber soles.
They clean it up for a blunder, there was such dust behind the refrigerator that we went nuts, it seems to me that it should have been accumulating there for at least a year. The cleaner was told he cleaned it. I didn't see it myself. Although it was he who moved the refrigerator to us and showed us the socket, otherwise we didn’t have enough.
Breakfasts were included in the price, normal breakfasts, a lot of fruit, everything is delicious. I ate pancakes almost all the time and can't judge other food. We had breakfast at the restaurant by the pool, and on the last morning by the sea. Tried to dine at the hotel - quite expensive, much cheaper in the village. We ate in the village. I really liked Mentez art kafe, very close to the hotel, almost a couple of steps. They have chic, inexpensive seafood (200.000 for 10 fairly large shrimp), but you need to order the day before. There is also good cuisine in the Sendok bar&hotel cafe.
Tried durian. Oh, God, why did you let me do this?! ) The smell is so nauseating that it haunted us until we flew to Kyiv) We didn’t taste the taste of heaven. Sweet, tasty, but not super-duper-how-to-live-without-it now. The taste, or rather the terrible smell, remained in the mouth all day and it was impossible not to clean, rinse, or seize it.
Room service at the hotel around the clock, we had to use a couple of times. Food prices were the same as in the restaurant. The bill that we received upon departure also did not say anything about the fee for delivering food to the room. Therefore, I can cautiously say that the Russian service is free. But not sure)
The staff, like people in Lombok in general, is very friendly and attentive.
We went for a massage to a salon, not far from the hotel, inexpensive, good, on the last day I fell asleep on a facial massage))
We took a trip to Gili Meno and Gili Air for snorkeling for 600.000 rupees. Approximately 1 hour sail to the islands. The sea is restless and a little scary. Gili Meno walked around the perimeter on foot, a very colorful island, a little unkempt and provincial, but there are gorgeous snow-white beaches with azure water. The reef at Meno was not considered, we had problems there, we tried to snorkel for the first time and it was scary, it was not clear how to do it . . You need to learn right away) We tried to learn from the coast.
And they didn’t land on Gili Air, they just snorkeled. There we already succeeded, but fear did not allow us to enjoy it.
We bought this trip right on the beach, we gave the money after the fact. The aborigine who sold us the tour did not travel with us. A day later, we took equipment from him for 150.000 rupees and a snorkel lesson right at the hotel. He quickly taught us and that's where I already caught the feeling of flying. The reef and fish near the hotel seemed better to me than those near the islands, but I can be biased due to emotions. Maybe if it was this person who sailed with us to the islands, then we would consider all the beauty there too)
In general, I advise those who have not tried it yet to learn from the hotel with an instructor.
Separately, I want to say about the sun. You need to snorkel in a blouse with sleeves. The sun is very active. Huge hotel umbrellas or scarves on the head, shoulders and arms, glasses are the most necessary things to protect yourself, especially when walking at the water's edge. And cream! On the face-110 SRF! On the body - 70 SRF. We had from home with a protection of 30 and 50 - for Singapore, this is normal. But in Indonesia, the sun is much stronger and you don’t need to joke with it. Even my hands were on fire, although in Singapore they were open all the time and managed to tan.
There is a souvenir shop in the village, it is very cheap there, everything is more expensive in Bali. Everything is cheaper on Lombok.
In the previous report I saw a photo of the villas (POOL VILLA CLUB) and I really regret that I didn’t go there. The area there is wonderful. Will have to come again)
