There is a tennis table, a volleyball court, a swimming pool and even a small slide. You can sunbathe in a small garden, the sea is 15 meters across the road, the entrance is pebbly - it’s better to take corrals with you, but you can do without them, sand starts in a meter, water is chest-deep 50 meters, further deeper. Opposite 15 km - Turkey (Marmaris).
The wind blows decently all the time, but there was never a storm. A lot of people ride on a flying wing.
Not far from Rhodes, a taxi 20 EUR, if ordered at the reception, they brought it back from the city for 15.
On Sundays there is an agricultural market, it takes 10-15 minutes to walk, near the large Orthodox church in the village. Kremasty.
Airplanes very often come in to land over the hotel, it’s very uncomfortable these minutes, after 22 and before 7 they almost don’t fly, but sometimes it happens that we had to close the balcony at night and turn on the air conditioning. Room is clean, cleaned regularly and change towels too.
The staff is friendly, there are a lot of beggar kittens at the restaurant, they are fed and no one is chasing them.
In general, we managed to relax despite the noise of the planes normally.
Advantages? They are not here!! !
We rested at the end of July.
1. Room cleaning. The room was not cleaned for us, the maids, in principle, did not enter the room, the towels thrown on the floor were not changed. On the third day, I changed the towels myself at the maid's. On the fifth day, we could not stand it, went to the reception, where they promised us that in 10 minutes the maid would come and clean up. After half an hour of waiting, we collected dirty towels and bed linen and put them at the reception. The maids were called again. For about 20 minutes, the discussion between them and the administrator continued, instead of bringing already clean linen, they heatedly discussed something, apparently, who should do it and how ....
I'm not talking about stains on mattresses and towels ...
2. Pool. Look at the color of the pool, you can easily pick up something in it ....It blooms and smells. It was cleaned today on the day of our departure, for the first time in a week.
3. Service.
They work, if they work at all, as if they are doing a great favor. Absolutely disregard for the requests of guests. Tonight at 4 am in the next room they yelled at the whole hotel from the balcony. It was impossible to sleep, the neighbors did not respond to the request to be quieter. At the reception that night there was an administrator who spoke neither English, nor Russian, nor German, only Greek. When asked to help, he said that he would not do anything, he would not go anywhere, the boss would come at 7 in the morning, so tell him. And what to do from 4 to 7 in the morning? ...No one cares ...
They asked to fix the sink, the plug for it was broken, it fell through and the water did not leave. Instead of fixing the system itself, they pulled out this plug with a look, as if we had broken it in general ...No plug - no problem.
4. Chief. This is a completely different story. He did not answer questions, he simply sent to the reception. And he said that he was not the boss ....
He collected money from people and that’s it, you won’t go anywhere, so live in such conditions. The show was on the penultimate and last day. Apparently, either a check arrived, or "special" guests, reserved tables appeared in the so-called "restaurant" of the hotel. This is how the hotel was divided into "first" and "second" classes. Only these days there was tolerable food for dinner.
5. Hotel restaurant. This is not a restaurant. This is a canteen of some Soviet sanatorium in the worst sense. Yes, you have to stand in line at the entrance ...Otherwise, a crowd forms at the food and drinks. They let you into this canteen in doses. The food is always the same. And at the same time it is tasteless, there is practically no choice. They also take out food in a dosed way, it ends quickly and people stand and wait with plates. The most common fruit was watermelon. For lunch and dinner there was always only one kind of fruit. Again, if you can. They endure little, people grab, mostly with their hands, grabbing everything in a row ...
then sit and wait until they deign to take out more. Normal dinner was twice when the owner brought some guests....In the center of the dining room there is an additional kitchen, in which, in theory, they should make pancakes for breakfast and meat for dinner. But why do this if the people will not run away. Savings on EVERYTHING! .
6. All-inclusive power system. Well, I wouldn't call it that...It's more like full board. Breakfast lunch and dinner. They don’t offer any snacks, only drinks, and then if the plastic cups 0.2 do not run out. They put them out in the dining room until they run out ...
7. In the photo and in the description there is a sauna and a jacuzzi - they really are in the pantry, under the reception, BUT they are abandoned. In the next room there is a warehouse of incomprehensible things, filled with a pool or pipes apparently flowing from above.
8. Sunbeds. The description of the hotel said that the hotel on the beach has free sunbeds.
This was very pleasing, because we have not seen anything like this in Greece. Of course, this turned out to be a lie. There are less than 10 sun loungers and they are not by the sea, but across the road. Yes, there are ten times more vacationers than sunbeds, until they slept because of the neighbors, they had the honor to see how people take places by laying out towels for themselves and the whole family since the night.
If you have already bought tickets and decided to read reviews, then I advise you to rent a car, the island is very beautiful, castles, acropolis, villages, monasteries, a lot of heights from which gorgeous views open, beautiful beaches, bays and of course the city of Rhodes itself. In general, do not get upset, the main thing is not to sit in the hotel. Nearby there is a cream donuts cafe, there is free Wi-Fi, and the password is written inside on the board, and donuts are also okay, after dinner at the hotel, I want to have dinner again.
Also 10 minutes from the hotel there is a fish shop where you can buy freshly caught fish, shrimp, squid and cook them on the coals. All the locals buy and eat there.
And if you are still thinking where in Rhodes to relax, then we liked the opposite part of the hotel, the opposite coast. Faliraki, Lindos, Kolymbia...There is no such strong wind, sandy beaches and calm sea.
I would like to share my impressions about the Ocean Blue Hotel and the Tez-Ture company through which the ticket was purchased.
Rested, so to speak, from 1 to 15 July. The hotel leaves much to be desired, there can be no question of any 4 *. When planning a vacation, we chose another hotel, but 2 days before departure, Tez Tour offered 2 other hotels, one of them was Ocean Blue. After reading the reviews, we decided to stay on it, because the reviews of another hotel were even worse. Arriving at the hotel, we were offered to leave our things either at the reception desk or pay 2eu and close to the camera, I was surprised that there is no room for luggage in 4 *. Internet was offered 5eu per day or 20 weeks, but as it turned out later there were problems with it, the signal is weak or not at all - is it their fault that they have such a provider? They took the passports for registration the next day, but also with adventures - they could not find them! Found with a collaborative effort.
When we saw the room, we realized that we were in the 90s, old furniture, a 37 cm TV - goodbye youth, and most importantly, a broken shower, which they didn’t fix for us in 2 weeks. The mattresses on the beds are hard, the doors are paper - the audibility of what is happening in the corridor is excellent. In addition, black cockroaches live there, you can even tame them and bring them home as a souvenir. The room was cleaned badly, sometimes they forgot to leave toilet paper and hand towels. There is no talk at all about shampoos, etc. , although, after talking with vacationers, someone was lucky and sometimes a minimum of shampoo appeared. There are 5-10 sun loungers on the beach, so I had to buy air mattresses and towels, because they don’t give them out either. Canteen-restaurant it can not be called like a game Quest: 1-be the first to stand in the crowd at the entrance because they launch 10 people each, 2 - get food (the food is monotonous), if you managed to break through, 3 - get forks, knives, glasses, 4-find the cleaned table.
At first we thought that these were single shoals, but it turned out not - this is a system. The most offensive thing was when they turned to the representative of TEZ-ture Valentina with a question, what is happening here? Followed by the answer - What do you want - a budget hotel. The question is why such a large tour operator works with such a flawed hotel, why does it spoil its reputation? There was a fight in the hotel near the pool, glass flew, where is the guarantee that they did not get into the pool? And there are children swimming. It’s not very pleasant when you go to the beach to see traces of blood that you didn’t bother to remove. Do not think that we find fault, we rested in 3 *, but this is something with something. The only thing that was pleasing was the sea and the sun - worked for all 100. Excursions can be bought near the hotel at Sigma at affordable prices, the tour operator is much more expensive. You can go to Rhodes yourself by bus, you just need to walk to the main road there is a stop opposite the supermarket, the bus runs every 15-20 minutes, the driver has a ticket 2.
