From the hotel you can reach the Heroes' Square, located in the City Park on the shore of the lake, in a few minutes on foot. The square is located at the end of Andrássy Avenue, about 2 km from the city center. After reading the reviews, I asked in advance for a room with a double bed, a balcony, Wi-Fi, Russian TV channels (2) and a view of the square. That's exactly what they gave. Plus a free fridge and safe in the room.
Cleaning level, towels are changed clearly after putting them on the floor. The air conditioner worked - and warmed and cooled, if necessary.
A pleasant surprise was the free gym and sauna - was twice. You just need to report an hour in advance to be prepared.
In a word - the hotel is better than unwashed Budapest, in which there is nothing to do for more than three days. Especially during the Christmas holidays.
And the staff presented their capital much more advantageously than the unfriendly and excessively proud Magyars, who for the most part do not speak any language other than their native language, only they understand.

On the morning of 08/05/2015, a few hours before departure at about 8:40 local time, a handbag with a decent amount of money and an iPhone was stolen from his wife during breakfast. The wife managed to remember a suspicious middle-aged man with a black bag, sitting at a nearby table, who could be a possible thief. He, according to the video surveillance camera at the reception, left the hotel at 8:42.
All this could have been a common occurrence, if not for a few suspicious coincidences.
On the morning of departure, the safe suddenly stopped closing, and I had to take all the valuables with me for breakfast.
The video clearly shows how the alleged thief is carefully watched by the security guard standing at the reception. Moreover, he even went to the window to see where the alleged thief would turn after leaving the hotel. And literally 20-30 minutes later, he told us, and the policemen called by us (at the reception refused to do this) that he did not remember anyone. Although the professional could not help remembering the person he had been looking at for so long.
Also, the girl at the entrance to the restaurant, who recorded the data about the visitors, refused to even watch the recordings on the video, they say she doesn’t remember anyone, although she looked at everyone very carefully and made notes about the living room.
Output:
The thief was probably not from among those living in the hotel, as the hotel workers tried to present him, but came from outside. Why he was so freely able to get into the hotel restaurant during breakfast, if it is not related to the involvement of some hotel employees in what happened, remains a mystery.

It seems that we visited a Soviet (not the best) sanatorium. Location: I don't know what's good about the proximity of the hotel to the dilapidated railway station and tram tracks (as well as a gathering place for local homeless people). What is this center? We call it the industrial zone. Rooms: tiny (you can't turn around together), with dirty walls Breakfast: we ran into a queue (people stood in the corridor and waited for admission to the room where the food is displayed) This room itself is small. … More ▾ It seems that we visited a Soviet (not the best) sanatorium.

Breakfast: we ran into a queue (people stood in the corridor and waited for admission to the room where the food is displayed) This room itself is small. People with plates in their hands crowd, trying to get their own food. It turns out very uncomfortable. Didn't like breakfast. The products were not fresh.

Worst hotel I have ever seen. I did not find any charm in the vicinity of the railway station, I went to look at the city and not hang around the railway stations. To the center and the Heroes' Square, no 20 minutes walk, but all 40-60. The metro is close, but sorry, the cost of one trip costs 50 rubles per person. For 6 days we rolled 2400 rubles. As for the Arena Plaza shopping complex, I completely agree, 10 minutes on foot, but there is nothing to buy there. Peter has long gone ahead in shopping centers, and they have clothing models for those who are far behind. . . The hotel itself is not 4 stars, but 2 and no more. If you want to feel all the charm of living in Khrushchev, then you can safely choose this hotel. I have never seen a smaller room size -8 sq. m. Reviews that we did not come to sit in the room are not convincing. For my money, I also came not to jump on one leg. The room where the bed is 5 square meters, and the entrance hall and bath -3 square meters. The rooms are all standard, revised pieces 5. All the walls in the rooms are dirty, honestly disgusting. Pigs didn't come to live. Towels are more like some kind of dust, it is disgusting to even wipe yourself. I don’t know for whom the breakfasts are wonderful there, for me they seemed nothing. Omelet, overcooked, shriveled sausages reheated for the hundredth time, and some kind of weathered doctor's sausage of some kind. Super!!! What do you eat at home, shit or what? On the second day, everything is already disgusting. Comrade tourists, do not think that I am a spoiled child, the daughter of an oligarch, and I eat only lobsters for breakfast. I am an ordinary tourist, just like you, who has visited many countries. This is not a 4* or 3* hotel. The city is beautiful, three days is the maximum for sightseeing. There is nothing more to do there. The standard of living is very low. By the way, our friends lived in a 3 * hotel, which was closer to the center, with a room 2 times larger, with better food and much cheaper. Don't repeat our mistakes! Money, after all, also does not rain down from the sky.

I went to see the city, and not to hang around the stations of Budapest. The center is 3 stops by metro or 40 minutes on foot. The cost of one trip to the total. transport 50 rubles. All stories about 15 minutes are pure lies. The total area of the rooms is 8-9 square meters. If you have never lived in Khrushchev, then you can fully experience all the delights of such a residence. The room in which my husband and I lived is 5 square meters, and this is not an exaggeration. Rooms have been changed twice. All the walls are dirty, the tulle has not been washed for years, the food is disgusting (some kind of weathered sausage, shriveled sausages overcooked for the hundredth time and scrambled eggs). What people admire is not clear. Our friends lived in a 3 * hotel, which was closer to the center, the rooms are 2 times larger, the food is better, and it cost an order of magnitude cheaper. The vaunted shopping malls Arena Plaza and. etc. with St. Petersburg can not be compared. There is nothing to buy there. People live very poorly. In short, the city is beautiful, and everything else. . . We went for a week, there is nothing to do there for so many days. Three days is the best option, and then better to Austria. Completely different level. Speaking of food and Hungarian cuisine. For two, we spent at least 1.500 rubles, or even all 2.000. I didn’t find anything tasty and new for myself. All the admiration for the roulettes, sausages, cheapness and everything else is not clear to me. One would like to ask: - And what do you eat at home, shit or something? If you stand with your back to the hotel, then the right hand (walk for about 7 minutes) will be the Arena Plaza shopping complex, and Tesco is so beloved by tourists in it. The hotel itself is small, I would say compact. The rooms are tiny but neat. The bathroom has a hair dryer, gel, soap (well, that's understandable, ****) The only thing that depresses is the windows of the room overlooking the walls, inside the "well". A bit boring and gloomy. . . And one more thing. . . At breakfast I ran into a queue. . . The room where the dishes are exhibited is small. And people with plates in their hands go in single file in a circle and pick up food for themselves. It turns out slowly. And the breakfasts themselves are not bad - yogurt, muesli, salad vegetables, fruits, eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausages, butter, bread, jam. Tasty. No frills, but fresh, good food. The hotel also has a bar and a Mediterranean restaurant. There are signs of wear and tear in places around the hotel. Carpets, furniture. But these are trifles. The hotel corresponds to its level. And do not forget about the good location of Golden Park. I just love Hungary. Have a good holiday everyone!!!; )

I would like to express my impressions of staying at the Golden Park Hotel from August 9 to 14.2009. The hotel is very nice, comfortable and cozy rooms with all amenities (TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, safe, telephone, air conditioning), daily cleaning, change of bed linen and towels. You can ask for an iron at the reception, you did not pay extra for its use.
The bathroom has all the amenities, great showers, liquid soap, it's all there.
The dining room is also good, the dishes are fresh and varied, there is plenty to choose from. Very convenient is the hotel's close location to the Arena shopping center, which has a Tesco supermarket, 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel.
I advise everyone to stay in Golden Park. You will be satisfied! Good hotel and nice staff! Next time I will also dwell on it.
Have a good trip!

We changed four (! ) rooms in five days - we regularly broke something (mainly a toilet and a shower) and the staff at the reception instead of fixing it just changed our room for us, which is not very convenient, since we have to pack and move with a three-year-old child. On all floors (and we always moved to different floors), except for the first, there is a constant stench of cigarettes - it is extremely difficult to breathe. Groups of students and other drunken youth were not allowed to sleep, all calls to the reception ended in nothing: the teenagers fell silent for about ten minutes after the suggestion of the hotel workers and continued their yelling. The breakfasts were simply beggarly - sausage and cheese (the cheapest), cold scrambled eggs, bread, 2 types of rolls. Five breakfasts - the same picture. Talking about the size of the room is unpleasant - if you get a room with a balcony, you will have to walk on the beds. By the way, don't fall for the claims that the hotel is located in the city center - it takes about 30 minutes to get to Vaci Street at a quick pace.

Breakfast is hearty, but rather monotonous . . The only obstacle is not knowing the language. But we found a way out - we used a phrasebook. Not far from the hotel found a bar "Gusar". We were treated to not a bad goulash. But in the Paprika bar, the cuisine is more interesting. Transfer, excursions, celebration of the new year, all this was organized by the company "1000 roads". She deserves 5+. Well done!! ! The bus was served on time, the guides were interesting, I would especially like to mention Andre. New Year was celebrated in the restaurant "Trofey". There was a buffet. Never seen such an abundance of food anywhere else. -New Year's program - belly dance, prize drawing, disco. Were very satisfied!
