Huge territory, the beach is gorgeous and it doesn’t matter that you need a specialist. shoes. The food is light and very tasty. A combination of Arabic and European cuisine with a twist from the chef. The cleanliness is incredible everywhere. The room is cleaned very carefully. Disinfectants are everywhere with care for your safety. Very cozy and comfortable. In the evening from 21-00 Arabic music sounds. Quiet and very calming. The service is so unobtrusive that it seems like a genie is floating somewhere. Suitable for a respectable holiday for anyone who wants to retire. And nature generously gives enchanting sunsets and gentle sunrises. Next time - just here.

The choice of a hotel to minimize the loss of time on excursions to Petra and Jerusalem, in comparison with the departure from Sharm, is fully justified. However, if there is a desire to choose a hotel for a seaside holiday, there are several unpleasant moments:
1) The hotel requires renovation of plumbing, furniture, paving slabs, sun loungers. The faucets are leaking, the toilet drain just broke on the first day.
2) The coral reef is small and very scarce. There is no pontoon, entry directly from the shore.
3) The hotel constantly accepts transit groups to Israel, who arrive before dinner, spend a very noisy night and leave early in the morning. It is very difficult to have a good rest in such conditions.
4) The hotel is fighting a battle against mosquitoes, but for now the mosquitoes are winning, so bring a fumigator to your room and a spray for walking in the evening.
5) In the morning you will be awakened not by the singing of birds, but by the croaking of a crow. There are a whole flock of these not very pleasant birds on the territory of the hotel, they steal everything that is bad on the beach, but most importantly, they constantly croak!
6) The animation is sad, although there are animators.

Excursions though at the hotel are much more expensive by a couple of tens of dollars. There, of course, it was difficult to find local residents from whom you could buy an excursion, since the hotel is located on the border. There are no shops or markets. The food was good and varied. We chose based on reviews because of the food. Every day there was a different cuisine. We realized that this hotel is for older people, because there is no active program like in Sharm. I liked that the animators were not intrusive, and so there were older people, more Arabs and Europeans. There was no pontoon, the Internet was very good, I caught absolutely everywhere and even on the beach. Water was given free of charge every day for free, one and a half liters.

Movenpick is the second hotel from the border. There used to be an airport in Taba, now there is not, I didn’t like that I had to drive 4 hours from the airport. Feeding, room, beach - everything was fine, only the territory is huge, but they can’t put it together, there were no unfinished cottages, but all the time some work was carried out on the territory, workers were dragging some stones, etc.

In October, I rested in Taba (Egypt), the Movenpick Hotel. The hotel is almost normal, near the sea, pebble beach, entrance from the shore. The border with Israel is very close, which is convenient, if you want to go there, you can walk to the checkpoint without any problems in 5 minutes. I did not like the kitchen in the hotel, I would even say a little unsanitary. … More ▾ In October, I rested in Taba (Egypt), the Movenpick Hotel. - The beach is very beautiful + good deep entry, small pebbles. No pontoons and walking kilometers to the depths.
- An ideal place for those who plan to visit Jerusalem and Petra (we sailed to Petra not from Nuweiba, but from the port of Taba).
- Another plus is that there are very few Slavs in the hotel, sometimes there are no Russian speakers at all, it's a thrill)))
- The territory is beautiful, well-groomed, there are a lot of flowering trees, greenery, although I would like there to be more palm trees.
In general, the hotel really liked, there is a desire to return. Now you don't want to go to Sharm or Hurghada after Taba.

Disadvantages: drive from Sharma airport 3.5 hours;
Every day, in the morning or in the evening, they brought in small groups of 50 people, Chinese or Africans. who were not at dinner. And so all the time new groups. And now, after the Chinese, there were simply no more dishes at breakfast, we personally saw how a Chinese woman poured raisins into a bag.

All 3 days there were problems with the stomach. . . not only for me and for the children, but also for other vacationers. Children except swimming have nothing to do (12 and 5 years old) there is a children's disco but it is for kids 2-3 years old. The coolest entertainment is diving on site there is a diving center where you can order and pay for the service. I advise everyone to whom health permits a 25-minute dive costs $ 53 + there is a photographer $ 30. per person for photo and video in electronic form. . The team of diving instructors is professional, you can trust them, they know their business, all the fear as soon as the dive began, any fear disappeared, they got a lot of impressions, it is worth the money spent. . the rooms are clean if you find a cleaner in charge of your room and give 2 dollars, then the room will be perfectly cleaned and the linen will be changed. The staff is well trained and unobtrusive if you tip at the pool you will get brand new towels and nice seats. . in my case it was important because the hotel was full. . . I advise you not to be stingy and give a tip, they will cheer you up and the employees and you will be better served. . That's all and have a nice holiday. .

The check-in went well, without additional payment they gave a room with a sea view, although they bought a "mountain view". We were immediately treated to cocktails and taken to our room. For those who don't know, the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Israeli border in the Gulf of Aqaba overlooking Jordan. One of the main reasons for going to Taba was an excursion to Israel. Unfortunately, now there are no planes flying from Kyiv to Taba, so we traveled from Sharm El Sheikh Airport for almost 4 hours by bus. But it should be noted that this 4-hour trip did not strain at all. On the way, we dropped off people in Dahab and walked around the territory of the Ibis hotel. Special thanks to TezTour for the clear organization of the entire holiday. Along the way, the Russian-speaking accompanying guide provided a lot of interesting information about Egypt. There was no TezTour representative at the hotel, so we bought an excursion to Israel immediately upon arrival at Sharma Airport. The cost at that time was $80 per person.
Israel: The one-day program included visits to the Dead Sea, the Jordan River, Bethlehem, Jerusalem. The tour is super, but one day is not enough for this, we are very tired. We left the hotel at 23:00 and returned at the same time the next day. Remember that it can take a long time to pass the Israeli border, our bus was delayed for 4 hours.
Hotel: the area is huge and surrounded by greenery. Despite the small number of vacationers, the staff made a lot of efforts to make our holiday unforgettable. The gardener gave me a bouquet of flowers just like that, the bartenders themselves offered various drinks. The staff is very friendly and courteous.
Beach: long (400m) and wide, sand with small pebbles, special shoes are not needed, although I bought myself special slippers for safety. The water is warm 24C, clear with a rich underwater world. You can also use the beach and the territory of the neighboring Hilton hotel.
Meals: Very high quality and tasty food, the only remark is that it is not a very plentiful variety of main dishes, but there was always chicken, fish, beef. You won't be left hungry. We went on the All Inclusive system.
Drinks: Offered local beer, whiskey, gin, rum, ouzo, wine. At lunch and dinner we usually drank local wine. Alcohol is offered in two bars from 11:00 to 23:00.
Wi-Fi: there is almost throughout the hotel, but sometimes the signal is weak, but the room is super! (The password for wi-fi in the room is in the TV menu).
Animation Entertainment: sucks. . . It seems to be there, but actually does nothing, almost every day the animation team, consisting of 5 people, complained about the small number of people and wandered around the hotel doing nothing all day.
Summary: I recommend this hotel for a great relaxing holiday. In the evenings a bit boring, but we occupied ourselves with shopping in the surrounding shops. The Hilton has a shopping mall with a large selection of goods. Also to the left of Movenpick, a 5-minute walk, there are several shops where you can buy local tea, coffee, fruits, etc.
I will be glad to answer additional questions, write))

Despite the ban on flights to Egypt, Russians can relax in two hotels in Taba (Egypt): Hilton and Movenpick. But you need to fly through Israel. It all just looks complicated, in fact we were very pleased with this route, as we visited two countries instead of one.
Even when choosing a hotel, we immediately decided to go to Movenpick. It was restored for a long time and it looked more interesting in the pictures than the high-rise Hilton. The area is really big and cozy. Part of the hotel is still closed and being restored. Meanwhile, work is in full swing. At the reception we were given a room with a view of the mountains, as we had booked at the agency. At the same time, the mountains in Taba turned out to be very beautiful, especially since the sea can also be seen on the beach. The room had a standard set of furniture, a large TV, the bathroom had a bath, not a shower. The rooms, according to ours, are very spacious, so you can safely choose a hotel if you are traveling with the whole family with a couple of kids. We don’t have children yet, but we have noted this feature for the future. Housekeeping was ok, but if you didn't leave a tip, the cleaner could bring towels not immediately, but later, when we returned from the beach, and stomped under the door. In general, they can be understood, given the meager salaries, but we did not intend to leave a tip every day, especially considering that we had almost no small money.
The beach is very spacious. There were very few people in the hotel, so everyone dispersed and no one interfered with anyone. The reef was very poor compared to Sharm, the sea is also cooler, but maybe it's because of the time of year. At the same time, swimming was comfortable. The water in the pools was colder, we did not swim in them.
The system "all inclusive" in the hotel is very strange. This is exactly the part that I didn't like. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are only available in the main restaurant. If you want to eat elsewhere, then only for extra. fee. There are no more a la carte restaurants to dine in. Usually in five-star hotels there are some nominally other restaurants, albeit not of super quality, but sometimes you really want to sit in a cozy atmosphere in the evening, and not drag yourself food from the buffet. The only a la carte in Movenpick was the Sea Shell restaurant, where you could order a standard menu for $12 per person, in which almost nothing attracted us, or choose seafood by weight, but then the total amount is too tidy. We learned about this from the guys who quietly left $ 80 for two there, despite the fact that they did not order lobsters. The quality of the drinks is poor, the alcohol is disgusting, the juices of their packages are only in the lobby bar. Snacks on the beach: rolls with cheese and paper sausage. The main restaurant is the same with different sauces. The chef didn't bother at all. Fruits and fresh vegetables are negligible. Ice cream for a fee.
In general, the hotel saves a lot, both on food and on staff salaries. At the same time, the staff relatively politely wants a tip, the crisis is from a small number of tourists on the face. The hotel has a weak Internet, it is free, but it does not always catch, they somehow ordered an excursion to Israel via viber. Communication was lost all the time, it was difficult to speak, but if you type, then the speed was enough. It is worth noting that for those who flew through Israel, a 1-day trip to Jerusalem costs only $40, the main thing is not to lose the white ticket, which they must issue when crossing the Israeli border at the entrance to Taba. We booked a tour on the Internet on redseatravel, as soon as they were able to explain everything to us normally and patiently, other Internet agencies had prices no cheaper than $60. The trip is not as tiring as it seems. Departure around midnight, but in the morning you are already exploring Jerusalem, at 8 pm we returned to the hotel and had a great sleep. Although the wife was very worried that she would get tired. The main thing is to tune in.
In general, the rest was a success, we were not chasing super service, but were looking for solitude and relaxation from the hustle and bustle of the big city, which we got.

Good afternoon. We want to go to the hotel in August 2015. I know that it was badly damaged in 2014. How is the situation now? Is the hotel open for tourists? How is the situation with the coral reef and fish (is there any wildlife and is the reef alive after the events of 2014)? Thanks to all.

Already rested in Movenpick Taba. We liked it, we go again. We go from there for a walk to Eilat. Previously, they paid a fee for leaving Israel, but now it seems to have been canceled for Movenpick and Hilton?
