Dinner is very high quality, few dishes, but all very tasty. The drinks at the bar didn't disappoint either: mojitos, margaritas. . . packaged juices.
In the morning we explored the beach. You can enter the water without a pontoon, a couple of meters of stones (not large), then sand. There is a pontoon, a weak reef, but a lot of living creatures. Most importantly, you can always swim!
I really liked the food. The choice is small, but everything is worthy. Bars are open from 10 am to 10 pm, then for a fee.
There is animation, evening shows. Wi-Fi covers the entire territory, the photos fly away.
I recommend this hotel for all categories of tourists. We will definitely return with our family.
not pop region Taba and this hotel.
The first thing to consider is the transfer from Sharm, for me
it was a plus, as it was possible to drive through the Sinai
peninsula, you can say a sightseeing tour, but for someone 2-3 hours
on the road it will be a minus. You can find out more about the transfer
from my transfer review: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=SoTZKB4rSPU
Let me also remind you, and perhaps someone does not know if you plan to relax in
Egypt in the Sinai Peninsula, then a visa free of charge recorded a video about this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=rX49VwiBIho
2. Settlement. From the pros - the hotel went for early check-in at 8.00
were already in the room, but they refused to issue bracelets until 10.00, so
We were deprived of breakfast, although the travel agency assured us that there would be breakfast - do not believe it! )
Of the minuses - when checking in, no one offered to help with things and even
elementary did not show where the number is, this is not critical for me,
but for 5 stars such misses are unacceptable.
3. The territory is large and beautiful, there are many pools, there are even heated ones near
gym, beautiful buildings, especially the main building. The beach is large with a pontoon,
but it is possible to enter the water directly from the beach. It is also worth noting about the territory
that this is a large complex of independent hotels, there is a path along the beach,
you can walk freely, like along the promenade, go to hotels,
but you can not use the services of other people's hotels, even sunbeds on the beach.
On the first line there are 5-star hotels, and on the second one 4-star hotels on the territory
which has a market, shops, a bank and travel agencies. Free shuttle runs between hotels
bus (this was also kept silent at the reception).
4. What did not like. The level of food does not pull on 5 stars, maximum 3, the food was good,
every day there was something new in meat, fish, fruits, but it was a 3 star level.
The infrastructure of the hotel is outdated and needs to be updated, which again suggests that
they do not correspond to 5 stars: poorly cleaned rooms, a problem with clean
made a review with bed linen: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=W5oESges5KI
one day, the water was turned off before lunch! ) there is a jacuzzi, but it doesn’t work,
coffee machines are constantly breaking down - these are all trifles, but it was paid for, and in fact all this
didn't work.
5. Weather in January. The weather wasn't very lucky. During the day it was about +20, quite cool, but in the sun
ok, tanned. The water was warmer than the air, so we swam when the waves allowed.
6. The only reason to go to this place is nature and it compensates for all the minuses of the hotel:
sea with a pontoon and a sandy entry, there were not many fish, but if you swim near the mountain, they say there is beauty.
The opportunity to use the beach of all hotels was also pleasing - you could completely get away from people and get a personal beach)
I was in Sharm (Nabq) and Marsa Alam, but Taba seemed to me the most beautiful: sea + mountains, few people - this is what you need for relaxation.
And across the bay you can see the coast of Saudi Arabia, at night it glows beautifully with lights.
Conclusion: a great place to stay, beautiful nature, but the hotel is not worth the money.
Leisure overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=F_2pxDF1AW8
Lunch vegetable/chicken cream soup, pasta with gravy, chicken, fish in batter, potatoes with gravy, French fries, rolls, oranges/dates
Dinner: the same as lunch ?????? ? We made a grill, so not only did we burn all the vegetables, but also spicy other madness... the child remained hungry all the time, we survive on the same rolls and fruit purees that I brought with you....shame ???????
And I'm talking about a 5 * hotel....where are bananas, watermelons, melons, apples, where are seafood, where are normal cereals in the morning, and not pearl barley, where its mother has a variety, even in 4 * they feed better...
We had to negotiate with a local resident so that he would bring us at least bananas for money, at least feed the child with something...
We came to the playground with the loud name kids klub, there is a broken slide, which will collapse from day to day, hold on to a kind word, there are a couple of cars, one of them had no bottom ???????????? ? ?? ? ride on the roof, apparently ???? ? And the club itself was closed, although they came as stated from 15.00-16.30...
The animation is also weak, a couple of dances and everyone, as they say, we disperse, in the evening we went to a bar where there should be animation, this is a closed room where children run, adults play and smoke, a rotten DJ played and that's it....
The beach is not cleaned, around the camel g... oh and cigarette butts....in general, who bought it, urgently !! ! Urgently !! ! Change hotel!!! !
Group of friends (30 years old)
There are only a couple of working hotels in Taba and they are 1/3 occupied. But you can walk along the coast, walk around the "idle hotels" and eat dates straight from the trees.
Close to Israel, that's why we went here.
It's a couple of hours to go to Taboo from charm. They make one stop at a local store with which the kickback system works and then they bring everyone to the nearest guests, and you are the last - in general, think in advance about water and food on this journey.
BEACH: The beach is sandy, the entrance to the water is only from the pantone, you can go from the beach but you can go far and you can hurt your legs. We saw a lot of fish and other creatures. It was windy on the beach, straw screens do not protect from the wind (see the photo where you can see the wind on the palm trees), but it saved the pool with sea water, since the building closes from the wind!! ! You can walk to pantones of other nearby hotels.
ROOM: The rooms are large, all with a good sea view and a terrace (2 sunbeds + table + 2 chairs). The furniture is all massive wooden, serviceable. The bed is white and clean.
ALCOHOL: great cocktails are made in the lobby (near the reception)! Real coconut milk is added to pina colada! Decorate with canned pineapple, make real tequila boom with salt as expected. Juices from cardboard packs. See the photo of the cocktail list (try the scorpion cocktail). This bar also has peanuts, just ask for it!
FOOD: Lots of flour products: cereal buns, toast, grisini sticks, croissants, puffs, etc. A bunch of sweets, Fruits: Finniki, apples, guava, melon, etc.
Tasty pizza; in the morning omelettes with mushrooms, tomatoes and in principle whatever you want to choose from; pancakes with honey, chocolate. Yoghurts and cereals; Lipton tea and herbal, really tasty coffee (there is something to compare with) and milk...
For an afternoon snack they give chips (with paprika and regular ones) and make hot dogs! And of course ice cream!
TERRITORY: Huge, with gorgeous views. Half is empty, if it were occupied, it would be even better. There are a lot of crows on the territory, but they do not really interfere, sutra sun loungers are in their litter, but a couple of people walk around and constantly wash them. The eating area on the street is closed with a net (from birds) for all the time only a couple of small sparrows have flown. Beautiful red sunset. On the territory there are 2 tables for ping-pong (table tennis) - take rackets with you. In the main building, climb the tower (through the library). The simulators are not very old, they are few and not greased. There is a tennis field, but for a fee. There are elevators. The sea water pool is great! There is a jacuzzi. A couple of souvenir shops on site. On the beach, if you go to the left, there is a beautiful bay with non-working hotels and, accordingly, untouched beaches.
SERVICE: the representative of the tour operator does not come to the hotel, "the meeting with him also takes place on the bus") The guy who cleans up the annoying one and begs for a tip with all his appearance. Near the pool, the staff helps to move the sun loungers, open umbrellas. Always look neat in white shirts. They clear the tables promptly. The staff knows Russian worse than in Sharm or Hurghada, but English is fluent.
ANIMATION: 2 animators + DJ: there was a charge, volleyball (with vacationers from neighboring hotels), a beach disco (for several hotels), a performance in the lobby (the singer came and dances from the animators). They also take out for free to the mountains there a performance for vacationers from all Taba hotels, and take it out for free to the second line to the town where the staff lives and there are a couple of hotels - there are cafes, souvenir shops. BUT there is nowhere to buy fruit! And no one offered tours either.
And on weekends, Jordanians (Arabs) come in (BUT this is only for 2 days! ) - a couple of families of 15 people each, they are not a clean nation, so do not sit next to the dining room and do not lie down next to the pool (just so as not to spoil your vacation with what you see)
Israel was not allowed. They kept me at the border (on plastic chairs) from 12 am to 9 am. They asked about family and work, checked all things, counted money, looked at photos in phones, contacts, etc. in general it was a terrible night, but it has nothing to do with the hotel. I will write advice on this about who will ask.
+ pool with sea water
+ excellent alcohol
+ have something to eat between main meals
+ gorgeous view from the room, sunset
+ large, green area of the hotel and a long beautiful coastline for walking and swimming
+ few people
- Jordanians visit for the weekend
- crows in the territory
- nowhere to buy fruit
- wind on the beach
the driver presents a permit to travel, stops no more than a minute. At first it seems dumb, but in fact it is more for control, so that weapons and drugs are not smuggled in, tourists have nothing to be afraid of. It is also worth considering that the militarization took place during the revolution in 2014, the revolution ended, and the military, who want to be in a share of the control of the territory, remained.
We arrived at almost 2 am. Almost 120 people began to settle in unanimously (they xerify the passport, give a key card and cards for towels and hang a bracelet on the handle). And we were also invited to dinner, the main restaurant was working. And only at 4 am managed to go to bed. All Ukrainian visitors were settled in one building, the doors of all from the side of the garden and mountains (inner courtyard), and the windows to the outside - the sea, the beach, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The room has a free safe. Wi-Fi caught in the lobby, but it's so-so if there are 10 other people hanging out.
You can buy a Vodafone card at the airport for $10 with free and good internet. Breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00, lunch from 13:00 to 15:00, and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00. During breaks, you can come to take juices and cocktails in the bar and ice cream from 15:00 to 17:00. The food is certainly not super, they don’t give shrimp, unless you order a paid seafood dinner in the tower for $ 60, but you won’t go hungry either. Vegetables, salads, sauces (be careful, they can be very spicy), soup, fish, chicken, sausages, rice, potatoes, sausages are not tasty, it’s not possible to eat at all, fruits and a large assortment of cakes, you can also take red wine separately at the bar , white or pink. Towels are provided near the pool. Be sure to take a mask and snorkel, near the pontoon there are coral reefs and many colored fish, in front of the pool there is a beach area fenced with buoys, where there is only one sand, the sea becomes very deep and even the reefs begin after 20-30m,
so it's good to go there with kids. It is also worth considering that there are mountains behind the hotel, and when we were resting, at exactly 17:30 the sun was hiding behind the mountain, and it was impossible to sunbathe, and it started to get cool, we took towels and went to swim in the pool. The rooms are cleaned every day, so don’t scatter your clothes much)) We took 2 excursions Lost Land for $ 90 and a trip to Cairo for $ 140 (excursion from Sharm for 90 and travel 50, you will still need to buy a visa at Sharma airport upon arrival for 25 $). We were taken to the "Lost Land" from the hotel at 5 in the morning, while they were given lunch boxes with buns, fruits, cheese and 0.5 bottles of water, it's better to take another liter from the room with you, it won't hurt in the desert. 1:30 am driven to the desert for Nuweiba, the Bedouins (like our tsiganis, he has great rights) will treat you to tea, then you will be driven for 40 minutes on bags, maybe even on a camel, then there will be an excursion and a hike through the colored canyon and the desert, where an hour and a half.
After that, they will take you back to the Bedouins and treat you with pita bread, cheese and tea. Get ready that a dozen barefoot children will run after you and ask for "eat" and you will have to give most of your brakes to them. It's just a pity for them. Then return to Taba, where they will put on a yacht and drive up to the island of the Pharaoh. Lunch on the yacht, then diving instruction and with each pair descent for 15-20 minutes at 4-6 m, there are much more fish than near Sofitel and a very beautiful reef, you can swim with a mask and snorkel near the island and the yacht. All this time we were filmed by the operator and took both pictures of the group and individually of each. The disc costs $20 for two. But you may be able to negotiate with him more beneficially for the group and for him. We were brought to the hotel at 17:30. The excursion to Cairo was the next day, first we left at 6:30 from Taba to Sharm, from 9:30 to 11:30 we collected tourists from Sharm hotels, and then went to Cairo. at 19:30 we were brought to a 5-star boat on the Nile, near the park,
after check-in and dinner, we rode a couple of hours along the Nile and arranged a small concert with oriental dances. The next day in the morning we were taken by bus to the Egyptian Museum, the papyrus museum shop, to have lunch, to the pyramids and to the Sphinx. Of course, the guide will tell you how to behave with the local population near the pyramids, but be prepared: the pyramids are large, incredible, shabby, but it is unlikely that you will be imbued with the spirit of the mighty Egyptian era because of these salesmen, from an hour of walking near the pyramids for 40 minutes you will answer and run away, better pretend to be blind-deaf-mute. We left Cairo at 16:30, at 23:00 we were in Sharm, and at 1:30 in Sofitel. We were very happy that in the room a set table with buns, cheese, sausage and fruit was waiting for us.
On the territory of the hotel there is a bank and a shop with souvenirs, slippers and handkerchiefs, for another $ 4-5 you can buy a phone case to take pictures of fish. But be aware
that the water will begin to press on the entire screen and it will begin to open and close various links itself, it is better to find the screen lock mode and button control. On Samsung A3, if you quickly press the menu button 3 times, the entire screen is blocked (a blue bar will move across the screen), then press it quickly 2 times and enter the photo mode, and take pictures with the volume, to exit the mode, you must quickly press the button again - menu 3 times.
Many thanks to the employees of Sofitel, Anex-Tour and Vitalia from "Come with us" shopping center "Arbat" in Dnepropetrovsk for a great vacation)
We took a ticket to TEZ TOUR.
We chose Taba because of the proximity to the Israeli border, as we were planning an excursion to Jerusalem.
The road from Sharma airport took 3 hours, the rules of the road are not particularly observed)))
The check-in to the room was very fast, we had the usual standard on the tour, but at the time of our stay there were not many guests and we were provided with a standard with a sea view, without any prepayments.
The place is very picturesque, on one side of the mountain and on the other the Gulf of Aqaba (Eilat), the hotel area is very beautiful and well-groomed, the beach is clean, cleaned every day.
The food at the hotel is very varied, a lot of sweets and fruits, a lot of local dishes that I personally did not like, but this is more a matter of taste. But there is always something to choose from and you will not die of hunger there))
There are many pools, mostly on the shore, there are always a lot of people, and the one in the courtyard is practically always empty and swimming in it is a pleasure.
We also went on a day trip to Israel. Dead Sea - Jordan River - Jerusalem.
We were very satisfied with the tour, the guide Dima on the Israeli side is just super, very cheerful and tells very interesting things. The tour was bought from a hotel guide from TEZ TOUR, at the time he said there were discounts and it cost us $ 75 per person.
In general, the vacation was very satisfied.
If you are planning an excursion to Israel, this is the best place to stay, if not, then it makes no sense to go so far as it is very tiring from the airport.
