Check-in went well, despite the fact that we arrived at 11-00, we were settled immediately (although it should be noted that not everyone was so lucky with our group of new arrivals). The number got successfully, No. 1612 in building 16. On the one hand, a view of the sea through the green lawn, on the other, the pool. All buildings are 2-storey, up to 8 rooms in each. At the same time, the hotel is quite large, some of the buildings are located across the street from the main building with the reception.
The room itself is not bad, quite spacious, with a common room, a bedroom and a bathroom.
In the common room there is a sofa, and a 1-bed, which can be converted into a 2-bed, as well as a kitchenette with all kitchen utensils. There is a small refrigerator (albeit old and poorly closed), electric stove, microwave, toaster. The TV in the common room is flat, although it showed little (a dozen channels in Greek, one Russian). Air conditioning in the common room and bedroom, although we didn’t turn them on (although October was warm, we somehow didn’t find the heat).
The bedroom has 2 beds, a wardrobe with a safe (a safe is paid), a desk, bedside tables, in general there is enough furniture to arrange things for 3-4 people. True, the furniture was sloppy, slightly shabby, but not critical.
You need to know that in Cyprus, in addition to left-hand traffic, there are European-English sockets, 3-pin. For this, adapters are sold in local stores.
The balcony deserves special attention, especially with a gorgeous view, like ours). There is a table and 4 chairs, it was nice to arrange gatherings before going to bed.
The bathroom has everything you need - a washbasin, a bathroom with a shower, a toilet - everything is in good condition. A set of towels was present, changed once during our short stay of 5 nights.
In general, with regard to service, the first couple of days we were not cleaned, but this is possible because we did not figure it out and did not post the appropriate sign (hanging on the door handle). Further, everything was fine with the cleaning, but a couple of euro tips would not hurt to leave).
It should be noted that Wi-Fi worked perfectly, each room has a built-in router, and it's free.
The pool at the hotel is quite large, there are enough sunbeds with umbrellas for everyone.
The location of the hotel is ambiguous. On the one hand, near the sea, literally walk from the pool through the lawn (by the way, there are no paths there, and it’s somehow inconvenient to walk on green grass, they’re used to not walking on lawns, but you can see the “greenness” and splendor of the grass there, they don’t in vain Cyprus is a former English colony) - and here it is - the sea! But there are no beaches where you can normally go into the sea. the nearest one is 5 minutes to the right when facing the sea (Pernera beach). To the left, after the port, about 20 minutes (Pantahu beach). To Nissi Beach - half an hour, to the city center - half an hour. There is also a wonderful walking and cycling path along the sea.
Meals at the hotel are taken mainly 2 times a day, breakfasts and dinners. Moreover, the breakfasts are quite decent, a variety of dishes, there is coffee, juices (although once I got stale corn, but this is an exception). Dinners are also varied (every evening a themed dinner is dedicated to the cuisine of a country), but without drinks. You sit, eat, the waiter comes up, asks for the room number, and what you want to drink. It's already paid. Therefore, some visitors took water with them (I don’t know if this is allowed). Lunches can be ordered separately, but it seems to cost 22 euros, it's cheaper to dine in the city, or buy groceries and cook in the room (which we did). There are enough shops nearby, it’s definitely impossible to say which one is cheaper or more expensive. The one opposite the hotel is more expensive, that's for sure.
It should be noted that the staff mostly speaks English (and of course Greek). There are Russian speakers, but few. This applies to both the hotel and Ayia Napa in general. For some, this may be an inconvenience, for others, an opportunity to practice English. Among the visitors, English and German speakers also dominate, so in kr. least we had.
The hotel has something like animation, but somehow implicitly - evening animation was presented one evening by a children's program, two evenings - karaoke, where, of course, Russian songs dominated. The announced discos did not take place, perhaps due to the lack of a quorum. In the afternoon, something like water gymnastics is carried out in the pool, again, if there is a group of people who wish.
There are a couple of hidden bonuses in the hotel that are not mentioned upon check-in and the guide does not mention, we knew this from reading the descriptions and reviews. The hotel has a gym, you can use it for free, though there’s nothing special to do there - I couldn’t turn on the treadmill, the simulators are old, rusty, and the gym itself is small. a more pleasant bonus is the water park, which is located at the neighboring hotel Electra Holiday village. Since the hotels are from the same owner, you can use the water park for free, for this you must wear a yellow bracelet.
The water park is small, but as a leisure option it is quite worthy, and moreover, you can get free drinks (water, juices, beer), ice cream, despite the fact that there is no such thing in your "native" hotel.
Liked the hotel. They settled right away. The territory is clean, well-groomed. Good swimming pool. Lots of umbrellas and sun loungers. There are always free ones.
The rooms are large, even unnecessarily. On the first floor all rooms have a terrace, on the second - large balconies.
It seemed to us that the terrace on the ground floor is more comfortable in terms of shade.
The room has everything: air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and even a kitchen with stove and oven. A large number of various utensils from cups, forks, spoons, knives of different sizes, to pots and pans. Fans of cooking have a place to turn around.
If you don’t particularly find fault, there are no shortcomings in the room. They clean every day, towels are changed every three days, bed linen is changed every five days.
The food is excellent. For fun, I counted the number of dishes. I counted up to 60, then lost my way. That is, somewhere around 60 - 65.
You won't leave hungry.
Of the shortcomings of the hotel - overly annoying waiters in the restaurant. You will not have time to finish your meal, as they are already trying to remove the plate. Everyone is still eating, and they are already removing tablecloths from empty tables. It seems that their children are waiting for them at home.
Well, the main problem is the beaches! Starting from the nearest one (300 meters along an excellent footpath) and ending with the famous "Nissi Beach" (about 2 km along the same path), all beaches are ten centimeters of bulk sand. The sea is shallow, waist-high. Sunset in the sea - large, sharp stones. Even in corrals, getting in and out is not easy.
And don't mess with the "Join Up" tour operator. Brought later, taken away earlier and to another city!
As many of you have a situation that the hotel was not the one you wanted, but what was left. Coming home and reading previous reviews, to put it mildly, nervous, because dirty laundry, old shabby room and cleaning once a week in the holiday plans were not included ((But there was nothing to do, began to gather. In my life it was the first times), when they decided to bring towels and their own bed, so that at least the dirty linen of the hotel does not spoil your holiday (as it turned out, all this was pulled in vain, the hotel was clean).
NUMBER:
Upon arrival at the hotel we were settled by a Russian-speaking girl (according to observation, she changed, only on those days when Russian tourists come, then we talked to the staff in English). Settled immediately, because we arrived just before 14.00. They immediately started asking questions: is the room clean and bright, with a sea view and so on.
The answers were affirmative, but with some apprehension went to settle. There was no end to the excitement when they saw a clean (just licked) room with a clean bed and towels. (During the week the room was cleaned 4 times and the bed and towels were changed. We even found the schedule of room cleaning by dates on the table, we cleaned clearly after them) In the appendix all photo rooms after arrival. Well, a big bonus for us was the view from the balcony to the sea and the pool) We honestly assumed that we were just crazy lucky and left the room for which we wanted to take money, but no one paid and we just gave it to him as the last, ie. the hotel was full. I hope that the other rooms that you come across will not be worse. There is always hot water and at night it also starts to heat up 40 seconds after turning on the tap.
There is liquid soap (gel, shampoo and everything else that you use, you have to take with you or buy in the supermarket across the street), hair dryer and iron are also not. The air conditioner works well, autonomous, you set the temperature yourself. There are no mosquitoes or other biting or rodents. Ants can appear only if you leave something sweet on the table, clean up. They disappear. There are no mosquitoes or gnats in Cyprus at all. So you do not need to take fumigators)) There are warm blankets in the closet if you freeze. And extra pillows. For cooking there is absolutely everything we did not use. We took HB and had lunch at a restaurant. But who goes with children or just wants to save, you will receive a full kitchen on arrival.
FOOD:
English breakfast: omelet, boiled, fried eggs, bacon, beans in tomato, baked zucchini and tomatoes, toast, 4 types of jam, cheese slices, sausages, toast, grapefruit 3 types, fruit salad, tea, coffee, juice (type, milk , cereals, cupcake.
Dinner: different every day, quite decent, but late. It starts at 19.00. So after him there is no desire to go anywhere. I would certainly prefer lunch instead, but unfortunately they do not change (and if you eat on a tour, no one will bring you lunch).
Dinner is served with a variety of salads, Greek dressings, olives, daily cooked seafood, pork, beef and chicken. Garnishes, pies 4 types. Of fruits: watermelon, melon, plum, apricot, peach. Drinks are not included. Eat a lot, but nothing special was remembered (again, a matter of taste). Although they cook well.
They discovered an absolutely stunning Italian restaurant DE MEDICI, towards the center on the right, on the nose of the avenue. They cook just fine and not expensive. Lunch with restaurant service will cost 8.5 euros per person. Soup of 3 choices, Caesar salad with shrimp or chicken / or spaghetti (carbonara, belognese) and orange FRESH !!!
) + Gift from the restaurant buns, butter, olives. Excellent dry white wine 250ml. 4 euros. Dinner is also excellent -10 euros per person. After this restaurant we only went to try meze fish in the tavern MARCOS, and decided not to experiment)) Constantly had lunch at MEDICE. And there you can order lunch from the evening menu. Fish appetizer in Marcos is said to be excellent, consisting of 23 dishes. (Beautiful sea view, 23 dishes, not all fish, they also include Greek salad, various spreads, pickled vegetables and olives.
Essentially 7 fish dishes (shrimp, squid, a couple of mussels, grilled fish (all by the piece) and fish casserole, squid rings, marinated seals and fried capelin) All cost 23 euros per person. A little cheated with wine, did not add about 250ml.
BEACH:
The pool is open at the hotel until 18.00! ! ! ! ! Municipal beach 5 min. walk, followed by Sands beach (in my opinion the dirtiest after 12 days) in 10 minutes. from the hotel. Nissi beach in exactly 25 minutes. walk not a relaxed step.
For a long time we tried to understand how the tourists of previous reviews arrived in 15 minutes. We did not succeed once))) Neither on the path along the sea, nor on Nissi Avenue. 25 minutes and point)) Nissi beach itself is very beautiful, but until 11 o'clock in the afternoon. At 10 it is already very crowded and by 11 it is full of algae and garbage from night parties. Go to a depth of about 100m, sometimes you give up and swim in small things))) but closer to the depth of the people becomes smaller and the water is insanely clean. On the other side of the hotel (by the way, also 25 minutes.
on foot) port and a wide strip of beaches. That's where there is enough space for everyone. So, choose a hotel near the place you want to see. Near the center and parties is the port and wide beaches (by the way, not bad), near Nissi beach - only this beach and the center about 40 minutes. stomp)) Panas is right in the middle between the two. In the morning we stomp on the beach for 25 minutes. and back 25 minutes Lunch in the center 15 minutes and back, in the evening on disco or excursions the same 20 minutes.
))) Healthy complexion and excellent physical shape are provided)))
Excursions:
Took 2 (of course not from the tour operator). Russian excursion offices are located on Nissi Avenue. Took to Jerusalem. Excellent tour (in the office 250 euros, the tour operator 295 !! ) and a walk on the ship Captain Marco. (The tour operator has 35 euros, the travel agency 25 euros, we took directly to the port for 20 euros with lunch!
Do not go to the sea in the morning, the trip starts at 11.15, you swim in the sun for 3 hours (there is usually shade where to hide), the views are interesting only for the first hour, then see nothing in particular, just ride a boat. In my opinion, an hour-long tour for 5 euros (also sold in the port) would be enough. Although the captain is excellent and fed well.
So if you are tired of boring felting on the beach, the ship CAPTAIN MARCO is what you need, and the photos are just great and you swim 2 times in the blue lagoons.
Jerusalem is a wonderful tour, despite the night flights, did not regret more than once. Visas are not put in the passport, you go around all the holy places and the Dead Sea in addition)) Just do not enter the stories of the guide about the fact that the temple does not sell anything. In the temple may not sell, but near the temple directly in the hands poke 3 times cheaper)) First you will be taken to the official shopping center.
There may be worth buying expensive icons and some gold and silver things, there is a choice and the possibility that it is not a fake. But wooden crosses on the front door, candles made of wax and paraffin, magnets, red threads, you can buy right next to the Church of the Nativity in 3 TIMES CHEAPER! ! ! !!
(cross in the shop 10 euros, near the temple - 3, candles a bunch 10 euros, near the temple - 3 exactly the same) Buy the icon of the Virgin of Bethlehem right in the temple, small icons can be bought in the center of 7 dollars. one. In general, it was an unpleasant moment in the tour, and so I really liked everything.
Like everything she wanted to tell. Pleasant rest for all. I will answer the question, write))
There were 2 families and 4 children in all : ), 9 months, 2 years, 4 years, and 11 years.
-
We booked 2 cars for rent on the Internet in advance, it turned out to be 300 euros per family.
We traveled all over Cyprus up to and including Paphos.
We didn’t take all inclusive on purpose because we didn’t want to sit in the hotel all day and there is a kitchen in the room, and a shop is 5 meters from the hotel, a supermarket and the main street are 200 meters away, you can always buy a “snack” - put it in the refrigerator .
Sitting in a hotel is Egypt-Turkey. (Here - europa, no one will ask for "van dollar", everyone is smiling and friendly. )
-
And we went, looked .. , liked it; Cape Greco (10 minutes drive from the hotel) for those who like to dive from a height - that's it.
Aphrodite's birthplace on the way to Paphos - take swimming trunks, swim, a good place. Better in the first half of the day or in the evening - fewer tourists who are transported by buses : )
-
Amphitheater, tombs of kings, fortress of Dianis..
everyone loved it and worth seeing.
-
Ayia Napa is generally a youth resort, there are a lot of it, bars and discos - just the same.
There are 2 beaches near the hotel, one 10 minutes to the left, the other to the right.
We didn’t go to the left, to the right it was pebbly and slightly rocky : ) it’s better to go to nissi beach, 3 minutes by car from the hotel (to the left).
The beach is excellent, for children - the very thing, the sand is fine.
You can take a catamaran 20 euros per hour, a parachute 50 euros for 2 and other entertainment.
Don't write everything, you need to see it.
Of the minuses of a particular hotel; breakfasts are a little tired on the 2nd week of stay . . they are somehow the same, but the dinners are all excellent - varied, there is always something new.
-
Of the pluses, everything else : ) by the way, if someone noisy nearby does not let you sleep, which is rare - but you never know . . one put the English in a neighboring house - they complained to the manager in the morning (attentive uncle always goes to look after everything - it’s hard to confuse him) - everything was taken care of, solves any problems - do not be shy - contact.
Now about pluses. Very friendly staff, some of them speak Russian. Normal cuisine, the complete absence of queues. Good room service, good cleaning. Not a bad nearest sandy beach (blue flag for environmental friendliness). Yes, there is only one entry with sand, and in order to swim normally (I am 182 cm tall), you need to go behind a picturesque hill of stones. The beach is quite quiet and calm. Yes, I liked the hotel as a whole, but when we walked to the beach every day, we walked past several hotels, and I was not too lazy to conduct "reconnaissance" there. The best (and located almost on the beach) in this place will still be CALLISTO HOLIDAY VILLAGE,
Who will go - I recommend the nearby Luna Park, children (and adults) will be delighted.
