We rested in February 2012. We never write reviews, but we decided to start because we often use the experience of others. We liked Katarino, and everyone, and there were 20 of us with children. I'll start in order. Food HB-super, breakfast is excellent, varied, delicious. Dinner is a song, variety, several types of meat, salads, greens, side dishes, as usual but very tasty, I don’t have the strength to try everything.

I'll start in order. Food HB-super, breakfast is excellent, varied, delicious. Dinner is a song, variety, several types of meat, salads, greens, side dishes, as usual but very tasty, I don’t have the strength to try everything. Desserts are chic, chocolate cakes, delicious cakes, fruits. SPA is great. Two swimming pools, one inside with access to the second ON THE STREET, you swim coolly, and the snow falls on your head. The water in the pool is warm. A sea of saunas, a hammam, a relaxation room with relaxation music. An excellent hall with a fireplace, where we could all gather together and not bother anyone, and no one bothered us. Location outside the city of Bansko, but for us this is not a minus, but a plus, a sense of nature, beauty from the window. The shuttle bus ran regularly and there were no problems at all. Well, now about the cons. We had a junior suite on the second floor. 2 adults + 2 children. So it was cold, this time, the sofa bed for the child sagged, it was bad to sleep, they asked to be replaced, they just brought another mattress to lay on top and that's it. The room has not been renovated for a long time, the plumbing is all old and the cracks in the bathroom are covered with black mold. The furniture is simple (as on the site) but all "tired". And our friends (the same room nearby) still had a wall of the toilet next to the bedroom, there was no soundproofing, so they couldn’t sleep at all. The guys who took rooms 2 + 1 complained that it was cool, the rest was fine. So here are the conclusions. Food and SPA are the best we have seen in 4 * in Bansko (there were 4 times Florimont, Pirin, Katarino, Lyon, and the rooms let us down. Therefore, we argue among ourselves whether to go to this hotel again. We are 5 families and this is a common opinion.

Was in Bulgaria as part of a promotional tour. I really liked the Katarino SPA hotel in Bansko, the only drawback is the remoteness from the city (or dignity? Around the mountains, forests and meadows, the eye rests). 10 km from Bansko. Shuttle bass all day from 8.00 to 18.00. Everything is very good. Children's room, parrots in the lobby, own bowling alley.

Met tourists from Russia, happy and satisfied through the roof.
SPA: everything is paid, FULL CHIC: Room of precious stones, Chinese medicine, aromatherapy, color therapy, music therapy, peelings, etc. etc. Free sauna, swimming pool, steam bath, jacuzzi. 2 swimming pools: indoor and outdoor, heated all year round, insulated sun loungers. Double: no balcony, 4 people maximum is questionable. Double suite with balcony. Good bungalows: bed, shower, fireplace = for 2-3 people. Taxi to the center of Bansko: from 15 leva (order through the reception) to 50.1 lev about 6 UAH.

I will add prices for spa treatments in Katarina. By the way, in my opinion (as far as I remember), they are not much HIGHER than the average for Bansko: fruit/sugar/honey/with sea salt/massage with a brush and soap with natural soap foam - 25 min - 40 leva (1 lev = 6 UAH approximately); Cleoptar bath / fragrant bath - 25 min - 35 leva; compresses: Katarino mineral SPA / anti-cellulite / anti-stress aromatherapy / with aloe vera and goat oil - 30 min - 50 leva; full body massage 50 min 70 BGN; partial 20 min 35 leva; head and face 20 min 30 leva.

Rested with my wife for the New Year in the hotel Katarino Spa (Bansko) When choosing a hotel, I was guided by the reviews of tourists in And no, those who have been there before. All true! Well done, thank you. Very decent hotel. Polite and correct staff. High-quality European food with a Bulgarian flavor (breakfast + dinner - buffet) After such a dinner, all local mechanics "rest".

And no, those who have been there before. All true! Well done, thank you. Very decent hotel. Polite and correct staff. High-quality European food with a Bulgarian flavor (breakfast + dinner - buffet) After such a dinner, all local mechanics "rest".
The choice is really not big, but everything is delicious. I was pleased with the complex of baths (three steam rooms with wet steam and two saunas) and a decent swimming pool (there is even a small outdoor one, although the water is highly chlorinated in it). After a day of skiing on the mountain in the cold and wind, relaxes very well before dinner. Massages are so-so, for an additional 10levs in a bathrobe, you can feel something for the massage therapist.
It's nice that you can get to the ski lift and back during the day without any problems by hotel bus for free (runs at intervals of 20-25 minutes). The hotel is located 10 km away from the town, which is very pleasing with the absence of a resort crowd and clean mountain air. (about 900 m from sea level)
Highly recommend to those who are looking for just a good winter holiday (without fanaticism on skis and night parties in clubs)
When booking rooms, you should book the side opposite from the entrance to the hotel. The windows offer a magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains at the other end of the valley. Ideally, I recommend booking a room in a bungalow with two bedrooms, a living room with a kitchen and a fireplace, for the company of their two families.
A spoon of tar:
-on the lift in the morning, at the bottom of the mountain, the queues are not real (you need to stand for at least an hour, if you're lucky) they say that it is so, only for the New Year (maybe I don’t want to check somehow)
- the Bulgarians probably don’t skimp on the slopes for some reason, it snowed heavily for three days in a row - skiing, because of the dunes of loose snow mixed with areas of ice and crust, turned into a power simulator for the legs. This is already an individual amateur, especially if all this happens in a serious fog and a large number of skiers of different skill levels...
We came here just to ride for our own pleasure, and not to tempt fate and look for a limit to our physical capabilities.
Unfortunately, despite the available interesting slopes and good infrastructure with ski rentals, ski lifts and normal fast food establishments on the mountain and its surroundings, this circumstance has left a very big negative for the entire resort in our eyes.

I really liked the hotel, big, clean, everything looks new. Spa center: a large warm pool inside, a small one with hot mineral water outside - overlooking the mountains, beauty! 2 saunas, a Turkish bath, a couple of incomprehensible baths and just a lot of space to lie with a book on heated stone benches in front of an open fire or on sun loungers by the pools.

Even the solarium is free - a friend, however, said that it was miserable. And the gym ; ) I also liked the spa treatments, especially their price : ) Every day I did something for myself. We had no problems with the reservation at all, as we had in the low season, the staff was very helpful and nice. By the way, white terry bathrobes hang in the rooms - everyone in them reaches the Spa, they are changed every day, like towels.
The choice of dishes in the restaurant is so-so, but again - the low season, the staff in the restaurant is 2 times more than the dinner guests. In any case, you won't go hungry. Sweets reminded me very much of Turkish fruits, oranges (very sweet, by the way), kiwi, apples, bananas, grapefruits. The restaurant is open from 7 to 10, for me it would be better if it was open from 5 to 8, otherwise you come from the mountain hungry, while the appetite in the pool is brutal, at 8 o'clock you will crack and sleep soon. They also have soup, sandwiches and fruits in the conference room from 3 to 5, so then we had time for this soup, just 15 minutes before closing, then you can hang out in the Spa until 8-9 ti (it closes at 9 ), and not so full at night. We skipped lunch on the mountain at all, because breakfasts are real English - bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and much more - so we only drank hot wine during the break.
The Lobby bar is very cozy, and very tasty cocktails, even non-alcoholic ones, and there is a large selection of them. There is an internet room. In general, the hotel is large, we have not been everywhere. There is no children's room here, just a shelf with toys where the table tennis is - but they send a nanny if you ask.
Minibus to the city directly from the door of the hotel (ski wardrobe), every 15 minutes is stable - but to the city from 8.00 to 13.45, from the city from 13.00 to 17.45. So in the evening it was only a taxi to the city - we, however, did not get out, and we had such a good rest. In general, the city is 12 km away.
We liked the skis very much - both of us with a friend for the very first time, on the 5th-6th day we skied on the blue slopes without problems, like the other girls from our group (the group caught a purely girlish one) - thanks to the instructor Mitko Kovachev for his endless patience and soft perseverance. Nature, weather - everything was super! I think I will go there again next year.
PS in the children's ski school, they didn't take the phone number of the child's mother, my friend, from us, but we ourselves didn't think of giving it, and there was a small but unpleasant incident when we missed the teacher and the child was not taken from the mountain in time. Of course, the teacher brought the child to the instructors' office, she didn't leave her - but everyone was very nervous. So advice to parents - give your contacts and take those with whom the child is.

Recommended for lovers of a comfortable, relaxing holiday. SPA center is great. Be sure to sign up on the first day for the entire stay, otherwise the Russians are busy all the time. The rooms are spacious and new. Saunas are also new. And the hot pool after the mountain is just fantastic! Trails are medium and black. Almost none for beginners. Russian-speaking instructors too. The queues for the lifts on New Year's Eve are huge. Bulgarians are slow and dishonest. Bansko village itself. And there is nothing to do there. You should not strive to take a hotel near the ski lift, it is better to concentrate on the after-ski.
