And then, when I said that I did not like the hotel, the manager nervously began to say why I do not like it here. Fortunately, this whole situation was after we had already been fed dinner, thanks for that.

Meals: there were no declared shrimps every day, for 12 days of rest they were only twice. In general, the first impression of the food was bad, but later I changed my mind. There were, as usual in Egyptian hotels, two types of soups, beef, though barely chewed, lamb was soft, but full of odorous seasonings, chicken, fish and even duck. The meat was both stewed and grilled.
The breakfasts are quite poor. I was surprised that there were no traditional fried eggplants at breakfast. Fruits, dried fruits, pastries, everything was there. The cleanliness was not very good, dead flies were swimming in a jug of olive oil. I don’t know what this is connected with, either with poorly washed dishes, or the virus really went around, but the whole company of us picked up an intestinal infection, there was a high temperature during the day, vomiting and terrible diarrhea. Tourists from Kostanay had the same experience.

Staff: the hotel needs to do something with the staff, nationalism is present in all its glory, I did not expect this from the Egyptians. The hotel's tourists are dominated by Italians and Arabs, a few Russians and quite a bit of Kazakhs, the chef is Italian. So the staff licks the Italians, everything to them and for them, as well as for the Arabs. But the CIS countries are unimportant.
At the pool bar, the bartender Mohammed behaved terribly, we asked him in English to pour cocktails without ice, so he grimaced, saying that they say there are no cocktails without ice and simply turned away to other tourists, and ignored us, pouring nothing. I had to complain to the guest manager. The situation on the beach: the Ahmed bartender, who is very similar to Cristiano Ronaldo, offered a tourist from Kostanay (Kazakhstan) to pour another cocktail, she agreed, but the cocktail turned out to be very bitter for her (yes, they do not regret alcohol there and pour a lot, you constantly need to ask to pour a little bit) so, she brought this cocktail to the bar, put it in a corner and turning to us comes up and says: - "I poured some garbage" in a calm voice. So he heard it and made such a kipish, a whole scandal, as if he even insulted the public, then I had a suspicion that he poured such a cocktail on purpose.
He yells that he will complain and will not work, you see, they offended him. But the worst thing is that he further told all Italians how good they are, and how bad Russians are. The tourist went to complain about him to the main manager of the hotel, she was apologized and a fruit basket in the room. But we personally left a residue until the end of the holiday. By the way, the Italians did not tip anyone, but tourists from the CIS countries fill up the Egyptians with tips.

Territory: chic, cozy, all in palm trees, moderately large.

Beach: very large, there are as many as three pontoons and a relaxation area all in greenery, bungalows, hammocks and a separate paid bar. Lots of sunbeds, enough for everyone, no need to borrow in advance. The reef is alive, very beautiful, there are a lot of different fish, even diving this time was not taken.

Animation Entertainment animators were our girls from Almaty and Aktobe. Lera and Sasha.
Of course, they are cool, they tried very hard, they carried out animation as far as it was allowed by the hotel.

Rooms: we lived in the second building, rooms 2222 and 2223, with a sea view and a large terrace. I never paid attention to dust and dirt in the rooms, but here guys are tough, the rooms are like deluxe, and the tulle is all in huge spots and with a huge hole))). The floor was dirty, since there were slippers in the room. But the cleaner came regularly and cleaned. True, garbage was lying on the terrace all the rest. Rest is not in the rooms, so you can not pay attention to them. Buildings 7-8-9 are located outside the hotel and if you take them, then you will have to walk decently.

In general, I want to say that I was in Egypt 4 times and never thought that I would also have to write a negative review. Before this hotel, we always rested in hotels cheaper and lower class, but even in them everything suited us and everything was on top, we never got poisoned or sick.
I would recommend the hotel to work with the staff, keep the dishes clean, treat the premises from flies. It’s very inconvenient to change the concept, for example, after breakfast you can’t have a bite anywhere, snacks are served on the beach only from 13:00, alcohol and drinks from 10:00, grain coffee from a coffee machine is paid, which I was very surprised. There is a late breakfast from 11:00 with pizza, burgers and other things, but it is by the pool and from the beach it is far inconvenient to walk to it. For example, in Reef Oasis Blue Bay on the beach from 11:00, alcohol and various snacks are served, and drinks are served around the clock.

In general, the hotel draws only the reef and the beach. I would refrain from recommending the Grand Rotana hotel, after which, for now, I have completely repulsed the desire to fly to Egypt.

I would especially like to mention Mickey - smart, a real oriental man, during night trips to the club, you feel completely safe, sees everything, controls everything, and during the day the most active and cheerful, Angie - warmth, soul and buzz! The reef is fabulous, you can swim for hours, the beach area is not annoying, everything seems to be nearby, but personal space is not violated! Room 1011, I highly recommend the 1st or 2nd building, the most atmospheric! Thank you Grand Rotana for relaxing and rebooting)))

The rooms are old and in need of refurbishment. Room cleaning is not very good. The food was monotonous, but they were not hungry, they decided for themselves what to eat and basically ate only these dishes. Not enough vegetables and fruits. Despite the shortcomings, we are very satisfied with the rest, we got a lot of pleasure and positive. This is a real paradise, would love to return to this hotel again.
I would like to express my special gratitude to the tour operator Elena (Anex Tour - Bereznyakovskaya 31). We are grateful to her for her attention, care and efforts to make our vacation unforgettable. I recommend this hotel to everyone, both young people and couples with children.

But I want to draw your attention, if you are a girl and have a rest without a man, then you need to be prepared that the animator will offer you to retire after the end of your work shift. Animator with pigtails was constantly spinning around, in the pool while playing polo, as if by chance, touched the place, sorry, where they sit. I believe that in hotels of this level, such cases are simply not acceptable! It is necessary to train all employees in the culture of behavior and communication with guests. The impression about the hotel was spoiled.

But in general, it's definitely worth the trip. Hotel with a beautiful beach and green lawns.

So, be sure to check with the agency on which line your house or number is. They have a map of the hotel (and it's sooooo big). Let the finger show your house. Some Muscovites were so screwed up that they lived at the gate, next to the attendants.
So, to my indignation, our arab, again quite professionally, offered another room for 200 bucks - more and closer to the sea. I offered 100 and we agreed. Although he was still 50 bucks on top, he offered something even cooler, but I didn’t give a damn - I was tired from the road, the children were whining, so I stayed here.
And then the circus began:
1. Beer was issued only in small, plastic cups.
2. Walking for a beer from the beach to the bar... far. Look at the map, the area is huge. Or you can immediately buy beer only for dollars or euros.
3. Beach - stones. You can't go there with small children. They cut very quickly.
4. A la carte restaurants: this is something, the first one is preparing pizza, very poor quality. The second type is fish - only fish you eat there only hehe sickly paying extra. And for free you will be given canned food, or crab sticks, bullshit in short.
But the sea is a fairy tale: clean, beautiful. . .
They returned from the sea, and were surprised. Finally got out of the room. Well, how did they get away. With a dirty rag that was rubbed in the corridor, they smeared the dirt on the floor.
Separately, I want to tell you about the air conditioner - it makes noise, puffs, but the room is still stuffy and hot. How many times I asked them to repair it, to no avail. They have a centralized air conditioning system.
About food. compared to Turkey POOR, very poor. The sea products are not fresh, although it seemed that the sea is here, outside the window. Everything was frozen.
My children have been poisoned twice. They vomited 2 times, right on the bed.
Here we must give them their due. They quickly came, changed the bed and even brought water.
But when a can of fanta burst and we wiped the table with a towel, they demanded 80 bucks (80 Carl) for damages. Well, I pulled out my phone and started filming everything. Especially how Huisnyu threatened us that we would be if we did not pay. And when I saw the phone, I almost cried - I realized that I would be a star.
I called the police - like you don't have the right to film me. The policeman looked, smiled and asked:
- What about the towel?
- Forget about the towel, he was filming me - the manager Huisnyu answered almost crying and promised to forget about the towel if I was ready to erase the video.
Well, the general impression is that everything from nature is beautiful. It is better to go there in winter or spring - in summer it is very, very hot there. The asphalt heats up so you can't walk barefoot.
Everywhere where these sleepy Arabs work is dirty and dusty. And the rooms seem to have been last renovated 8-10 years ago.
Well, about drinks - cheap local swill that beer, that strong drinks (37 degrees).

With us, the newlyweds (! ) were settled in a room without a balcony and located in building 8 (it is on the outskirts, outside the hotel, far from the beach, dining room and reception).
The furniture in the room is old, the bathroom is just Soviet renovation. But they clean the rooms and change the bed and towels is not bad, every 2 days.
- Restaurant. It can not be called anything other than a dining room. The food is not bad, the choice is sufficient, but the service is terrible. Huge lines at the distribution, food is imposed as if gold is small, tight-fisted, as if they are giving away their last crumb of bread. Employees with carts constantly drive around the hall, where they collect dirty dishes, while they throw them very loudly, cursing with each other. At the same time, food from the dishes flies in different directions both to people and to their food. Don't expect a peaceful meal. Trash carts stop at the level of your table every now and then. The smell and aesthetics are appropriate. . . there are not only tablecloths on the tables, but even paper napkins. What are small spoons - in this hotel it is unknown, while some of the desserts are served in small "piles", especially quirky people eat these desserts with a fork. . .
Coffee and tea can be poured either into plastic glasses (5-star hotel? ) Or into dirty cups with traces of lipstick (HIV, coronavirus, have you heard? ), We saw more than one such dirty cups during our 10 days of stay at the hotel and they stood on trays with clean dishes. After asking the administrator about why there were traces of lipstick and hands on the cups, they didn’t answer us, they took away the dirty cups and, as an apology, they brought coffee in cups with saucers and normal, that is, grain, and not liquid from a common boiler.
- Service. Overall, it sucks. Bathrobes are issued upon request, the wait is very long. Cocktails on the beach are only on the menu and from the cheapest raw materials. Asked to add liquor to coffee. (Liquor that is added to free cocktails), the waiter said that this is for a fee... the bars on the beach are dirty, the waiters with disgruntled faces. The child was refused to pour milk, although the cocktail menu includes milk, that is, they had milk.
Conclusion: the hotel clearly draws no more than 3 stars, the price is too high for such a low level of service and amenities in this hotel. I won't go to this hotel again.
There are no toilets on the beach or by the pool. Pissing - in the pool... there are no changing cabins. Go in wet swimming trunks and swimwear to your building... and for example, building 8 is far from the beach...

Rotana appreciates those who return to it, and as soon as I said that last time they lived in the 2nd building, they apologized (!!! ) that it was being renovated and given in the 1st where the sea and the beach are in front of us (who he knew) I repeat without surcharges. The food is excellent both in Ramses and a la carte. Cleaning daily, bar replenishment (cola, sprite. . . ) and water as much as you want daily.

I want to share my impressions of the 27th vacation in Egypt, you know, there is something to compare. Vacationing with my husband. We chose the hotel "Grand Rotana Resort & Spa 5 *" Shaks Bay. Back in 2008, on the first visit to Egypt, we stopped at this hotel, collecting tourists for an excursion. I remember that his appearance then made an indelible impression. The price of this hotel has always been higher than the average 5 *. However, we decided not to spare money and make our dream come true, besides, it turned out that we practically do not know Shaks Bay.
I want to immediately thank the tourists who left negative reviews about the early arrival at the hotel (long check-in, lack of water and food). It helped us a lot, because. We arrived at the hotel around 6 am. They took water in luggage, and towels, swimsuits, sandwiches and fruits in hand luggage.
Check-in and room: I have a sign: as the check-in goes, so will the rest. The previous 2 hotels pampered us, settled until 8 am, immediately sent for breakfast. Here the concept of such pampering does not provide for: they settle in by 12-14 o'clock, breakfast is not provided. Good thing we had water and sandwiches with us. Having changed in the toilet, we went to the beach to get some sleep (we also brought thin but large terry towels with us). An hour later we woke up from the cold wind, there was no fence on the beach, but in vain. Frozen, went to wait for the room at the reception. Previously asked for the 2nd floor and a balcony. But it was not there: either the first floor, or the second, but without a balcony, or an additional fee of 35 dollars. USA per day. It was like pulling money, the impression of the hotel immediately deteriorated. Many paid extra, despite the fact that the hotel is very expensive. We settled in building number 7, very far from the sea, on the 2nd floor without a balcony. The mood was spoiled: we have wetsuits that need to be dried somewhere and other equipment for snorkeling. And in general, well, we love balconies, we are used to them.
The room is not big, the repair is normal, the beds are separate (moved at our request), there is a corner for making tea and coffee, a refrigerator, there are toiletries in the bathroom, clean. At our request, they brought bathrobes, but there were no slippers for them. Garden view.
Let's go to the beach. The beach is not big, steps, sun loungers are close to each other, there are no barriers from the wind. However, there are many palms and bushes. The main thing for us is the reef. However, disappointment awaited here too: the underwater world is meager, the bay is not interesting either for corals or inhabitants. For beginners, it will certainly be cool, but we have seen much, much better.
We wanted to change the hotel, which is extremely rare, but it happened in our practice. Representatives of the tour operator treated our request with understanding, however, in those hotels where we would like to move, there were no more places, or they required a significant surcharge. Although when booking these hotels were either at the same price or cheaper than the Grand Rotana Resort & Spa 5 *. We were offered to stay at the hotel, changing the room to a superior room with a surcharge of 15 dollars. USA per day. But tomorrow, today there are no available rooms.
The next day, with the manager, we went to choose a superior deluxe room. We looked in building number 3 (it was much closer to the sea and to the reception). We looked at 2 rooms: one on the first floor and the other on the second. We never settle on the first floor, and the room on the second floor turned out to be exactly the same as ours (size, furniture, renovation, plumbing and also without a balcony !!!!!! ). We explained again that we need a 2nd floor and a balcony. We were taken to our own building number 7 and shown to the next room. It was the same as ours, but with a balcony. Moved for free, tk. this room is not deluxe. More fun with a balcony. And thanks for that. Sorry for being so detailed, but after talking with other tourists, we realized that our case is far from being an isolated one.
Territory: the main trump card of the hotel. Very green and lots of palm trees. In front of the reception, palm trees seem to grow from the pools. But we have seen palm trees before, and hotels with very beautiful areas too. Zest - the architecture of the main building is very unusual, both outside and in the middle. The main building is built in the Egyptian style and resembles the Temple of Karnak. Inside the decor on the walls are copies of ancient Egyptian paintings in temple complexes. There is furniture made of natural rattan palm - this is a sign of high cost and taste. Even the flowers in the vases at the reception are not plastic, but alive. Really enjoyed it, my compliments to the architects and designers.
There are several pools and one medium, more like a children's slide. A couple of times we rolled down a hill, a couple of times we swam in a warm infinity pool overlooking the sea. Okay.
Nutrition. There was 1 main restaurant in the main building and 1 a la carte on the beach (2 visits included) and a cafe by the pool. Sign up for a la carte immediately, it is in demand.
The food in the main restaurant is standard, no complaints. There is a good selection of vegetables, meat and fish dishes. Once there was borscht. The cooks know how to cook, everything is edible. However, there was an impression that the room was too small for such a large number of people (the hotel is occupied by 60% of the maximum possible number of guests), there is no terrace on the street overlooking the sea, often there is a queue for main dishes, then for vegetables, then for fruits, then for drinks. Once we came to the opening, there were no free tables, they began to come later. Due to the constant rumble of cutlery, crockery, carts, there was a feeling that you were in the dining room.
Ala carte on the beach was good. We included 1 lunch and 1 dinner. Meals can be chosen from 2 menus, drinks are included, there are also paid sets. We took the same thing both times: a seafood salad, an appetizer of smoked salmon stuffed with shrimp (although half of the filling was crab sticks), mussels, fried cheese, grilled salmon fillet. Tasty. Recommended for variety.
Cafe by the pool menu. The food is a bit different from the main restaurant, more fast food, good appetizers and salads. I recommend.
Animation. Seen much better. Some sports during the day. In the evening imported artists. There were no interesting competitions.
In the evening there is live music in the bar on the street, but unfortunately we did not use this option of the hotel. Either they could not find empty seats to sit down, or they could not find the repertoire. The level of music did not match the level of the hotel. From such a cheap Russian-Ukrainian pop music in a frankly bad performance, my ears and head began to hurt. Do you really think that all the guests who have chosen this expensive and pretentious hotel get high from Brezhneva, Polyakova and Loboda? Or is Serdyuchka's bad rehash worthy of this hotel? In addition, singers and musicians were frankly out of tune. I had a feeling that this was a cheap handicraft in Kirillovka. Unfortunately, this trash is paid from our tours.
Service: We had no complaints about the service. All employees were very polite and friendly to us. The waiters served quickly. I liked the very friendly bartender at the pool Mustafa. The service is unobtrusive and with a smile. They didn't ask for tips, but they were grateful for them. Thanks!!!!
Of the minuses in the service, I note that due to the large number of guests for this number of staff, the guys did not always have time to serve quickly and there were queues.
Of the "pluses" I note the free transfer to Naama Bay and the Internet throughout the hotel.
Beach: not big for so many guests, cramped and no barriers from the wind. Beds and mattresses of good quality. There is a bar with drinks and ice cream.
Sea: alas, disappointed with Shaks Bay. Snorkeling from your pontoon to the pontoon of Xperience Sea Breeze Resort 5 * to the north and to Coral Bay to the south. We did not see anything interesting for ourselves, the coral is boring and there are few living creatures, but for beginners it will do.

General impression of the holiday:
Pros: beautiful territory, greenery, many palm trees, the architecture of the main building is magnificent, swimming pool, normal food, good service.
Minuses:

The beach is too small even for so many people, there are no barriers from the wind. People come in large companies, and starting at 5 am, a messenger from each company comes and takes sunbeds for everyone. At the same time, the doors in the rooms are closed with a strong roar. I am writing this for those who like to get enough sleep on vacation: from 5 in the morning, doors will rumble around you at intervals of 15-30 minutes. At 9 in the morning we could not find 2 free sunbeds on the beach, all the sunbeds are occupied, and there are no people somewhere until 11 o'clock.
If you also like to enjoy the silence or the rustle of the waves on vacation, then you are definitely not here. Thanks to the neighbors on the beach, who prudently took audio speakers from the house, you will be forced to enjoy the work of Loboda, Polyakova, Leps and prison music, and at the same time. Neither about the occupied sun loungers, nor about the music screaming from all sides, the hotel administration does not make any remarks. You can object that people paid money, so they can rest as they want. Sorry, but I did not find guests who rest for free at the hotel. It is clear that this is a question not only for the hotel administration, but also for some guests who have absolutely no culture and respect for the rest.
Didn't like the feeling of a crowded dining room, needed a terrace outside. And the evening entertainment does not match the level and price of the hotel.
Tell me nitpicking? Yes, I'm nitpicking! Let me remind you that the price for this hotel is higher than for many pretty good 5 * hotels in Sharm and beyond. At the price of itself, the hotel positions itself on the same level with "luxury" hotels (Savoy, Baron, Albatros, etc. ). And with "luxury" and the demand is higher. You need to either reduce the price or improve the quality.
Reef - seen much better, one of the "weakest" in Sharm.
There are hotels for less money with fewer drawbacks. The hotel is too overrated. We will not return here again.

The bar drank bad coffee for $2. Despite the fact that I paid for the sea view room, everyone was settled in the same good building with a sea view. It was possible not to overpay.
The room was not cleaned, we did not eat anything for 16 hours (! ), that day there was no sun and there was wind. No mood, slept all day. But when in the morning I went out onto the balcony, it felt like I was in heaven! The beauty of the area is amazing. I travel a lot, 46 countries, cruises. I thought nothing would surprise me. However, all the negativity was immediately forgotten.
I extended my holiday for another 5 days in the grand deluxe sea view category to enjoy the view from the balcony. The food is delicious. Especially sweets are excellent (I don’t eat meat, but I love sweets). All emerging issues are resolved instantly by Inna, gestrilation. A smart and polite person in his place, always answers all questions with a smile and really helps.
I will definitely come back here.
And if the hotel starts to feed the guests who arrived on night flights with breakfast, this will improve the rating of the hotel and the guests will definitely return. This is the only negative of the hotel. In our country, it is customary to joyfully welcome guests and feed them. And do not leave hungry until dinner.
