It seems that someone is just making money on the once glorious name of the sanatorium. There are rumors among the sanatorium public that everything possible is being pumped out of Shayan...to then sell the sanatorium to an "efficient owner", perhaps with an Israeli passport...90% of the guests of the sanatorium are retired people who have been coming here for years, so they don't care to the negative changes that are taking place. Pensioners are unable to think about the fact that they may soon be ordered to travel here, and the current state of the sanatorium has been familiar to them since the Soviet times. And, in general, everything has become quite expensive in Shayan (resort). Through the sanatorium there is a road to.....the villa of the former head of the VRU Plyushcha, as well as to the elite boarding house "Fiery Salamander" of another former head of the VRU Moroz, the road is paved, in good condition, what can you say about the central street of the village of Shayan))))
The territory of the sanatorium is very well maintained, a lot of greenery and benches. I visited both buildings of the sanatorium. The 1st 4-storey building is densely populated)) There are many vacationers on social vouchers and the elderly, and in the summer there are a lot of children running around all the corridors. Soundproofing is very poor.
All rooms are for 2 people. Every room has a balcony except for the 4th floor. I will say that the 2nd 3-storey building is located a little further from the medical building and a little up into the forest, so it is better not to settle there for the elderly. It is more suitable for couples or for those who want to relax in silence away from people. The building is locked with a key that every resident has.
If anyone has any questions, write, I will answer, because I know everything there very well.
In order. Before the trip, I phoned Vasil Kapitan (tel. wrote off here) and agreed on a transfer from Mukachevo. I met you wonderfully, and in the future they addressed me with any questions - I helped and prompted. Thank you so much!
We arrived at the resort. We were offered a choice of 5 rooms. Let's go look. One more terrible and dirtier than the other. We even looked at deluxe. Windows in the roof (only the sky is visible) and dirt. There is no vacuum cleaner in the sanatorium. It is disgusting to touch upholstered furniture. Rugs have not even seen a broom, in appearance, for three months. Torn curtains and snot hanging bedside lamps, a small 4-program TV on the central antenna with a flashing image that cannot be adjusted. In all rooms in the bathroom (its size together with the toilet bowl and washbasin is 1.20x1.20 !!! ) there are rusty sticks on which a curtain hangs and a hole in the floor next to the toilet bowl. It's for washing! You can do this while sitting on the toilet. The door from the bathroom enters into a clinch with the front door to the room. If one of them is not accidentally closed, then it is impossible to enter the room or leave the bathroom. The fact that fungus is booming in some bathrooms is understandable. Too bad you can't attach a photo here! The bed deserves special attention. It is conditionally white and has a huge black stamp "Shayan Sanatorium - 1995" on it! Also feather pillows of the same year of release with pillowcases of the color of soldier's footcloths from the times of the First World War. Also blankets in which the whole canvas crawled out from old age and they look more like old burlap. On the first (and last) night, under two such blankets, we could not warm ourselves for a minute, being dressed in socks, sweatpants and sweaters. Fortunately, the heating in the sanatorium was turned off on time and they were not going to turn it on. Well, the last straw was food.
At the entrance to the dining room, in the hall, there is a wardrobe and washstands. There is probably a toilet hidden somewhere. But the smell in this hall was as if you went to the toilet, where there was never water and all sanitation consists in abundant sprinkling of bleach. It ate out the eyes. So it was for lunch, dinner and breakfast (then we ran away). Dining room - furniture, walls, dishes - everything is extremely wretched. Food. Conditionally called borsch - something floated in pink water. The second - porridge and "patty" - it's just soaked bread (there wasn't even onion in it). Salad - a pickled cucumber slurry in which a piece of cheese and compote were completely brown without sugar. Instead of butter - margarine. In the morning they served a "dessert" - from soaked cookies and an apple (which we did not take the day before) watered with something sticky gray.
At first I wanted to feed the dietitian and the head physician with all this. Then I decided not to spoil our nerves and we retreated from the sanatorium to the private sector (we settled in a beautiful, warm room) and cheaper in cost. We bought food at the sanatorium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (across the street from the Shayan DP), drank water and attended the necessary procedures there . Savings for two weeks turned out 1500 UAH. per person. That was quite enough for visiting the baths in Velyatino, trips to Khust and Tyachev.
The nature in the vicinity of the "Shayan" recreation center is wonderful, the water is curative and tasty, there are enough places for walking and "gatherings". Worth a trip to Shayan for sure. BUT ONLY NOT IN THE HEALTH DP "SHAYAN"!
By the way, the sanatorium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (also called "Shayan") is quite a worthy place. A little more expensive, 30 hryvnia per day (the simplest room with meals and treatment), but you need to order in advance. 1.5-2 months. In the village of Shayan, there are now many new private boarding houses, comfortable and beautiful, but the prices there are appropriate. I wish you all a good holiday! And I hope that my objective review will be useful to someone.
UAH The food is monotonous and tasteless. For diabetics, there are no fruits, no herbal cocktails ((((There is no state transport to go somewhere on your own - everything is just a taxi. SIMPLY HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!! !
So, in order.
1. The road. We drove through Kyiv to Mukachevo, from Mukachevo to Shayan. The train arrived in Mukachevo at 5.10 am. Many taxi drivers were waiting for us at the station and called for minibuses, so there were no problems with transport. We got to Shayan for 1.40 for 70 hryvnias per person.
2. Settlement. Since we arrived in "Shayan" around 7 am and had to wait until 8, because we planned to settle in a suite (the child is an adult and in a standard room 12 days on a cot somehow not very happy prospect). We went to drink water, went to breakfast, and then at 10 o'clock in the morning settled in the room.
3. Sanatorium and room.
The sanatorium is beautiful, the territory is well-groomed, a lot of greenery, benches, the river nearby, a pump room, a dining room nearby. Room 2-room, if I compare with the stars, then 3-4 * can be given safely. We lived on the 4th floor, a beautiful broken roof and, accordingly, the ceiling, the bedroom window in the ceiling, you lie and look at the sky, very cool. 2 single beds, 2 bedside tables, wardrobe, ironing board, iron, table lamp. In the other room - a corner sofa bed (you can safely put 2 people), TV, kettle, table, small refrigerator, hair dryer, dishes. There is a small hallway with a hanger and shelves for shoes. In the bathroom - shower, toilet, towel dryer, bowl (for washing), rug. Everything is decent. Shampoo (1 sachet), soap (1 piece - "Chamomile") and a roll of paper - also 1 (we bought). Next to the sanatorium there is a sports ground (although it is already a bit broken, but we walked between water and breakfast, lunch, dinner). Internet - no (although stated)! ! ! !!
3.
Nutrition.
Monotonous, but sufficient. You order every day for the day after tomorrow, and the first days you eat what you give. Mostly porridge (buckwheat, barley, oats), mashed potatoes, eggs, steamed or baked cutlets, fish (fried, boiled, with tomato sauce - optional), once a week a sandwich with red caviar (modest, but true! ) , soups, borscht, apples, kiwis, tangerines, cookies, rolls, etc. In short, enough. At the table for 4 people.
4. Water. I repeat, for the first time, I did not drink any other water, except from a plastic store. Vodka is original, not ugly, soft to the taste, there is a natural aeration, with a slight irony taste. Went 3 somewhere a day 45 minutes before eating. Pump room is close.
5. Procedures. When we left, we consulted with friends, acquaintances and came to the conclusion that we would not do anything. Therefore, procedure №1 is clean air, procedure №2 is water.
The decision was made when they saw doctors and nurses in sweaters, t-shirts, vests.
Sleeping case with plastic windows, warm; and medical - still sovdep, windows - one name, a draft in corridors, after baths people cool down during or quickly run to numbers across the street. You still need to undress for a massage, and it is paid, and in our city - cheaper. People rush to be treated as not "in themselves".
6. Leisure. Even if you go for procedures, they are all until 13-00. And the route dormitory - dining room - so you can die of boredom. We walked a lot, looked at houses, hotels. We really hoped to go sledding and skiing, here is a complete disappointment. There is a slide near "Shayan", as stated, the only problem is that there has been no normal snow for 5 years, and the rope was stolen last year. One day it snowed, we happily took two sledges from Visak, and walked up and down the hill - we had enough for an hour and a half, no more.
There is a slide in the hotel "Erniy Laz", we went there on foot to see, it is difficult to go (30-40 minutes uphill), you can take a bus - 20 UAH. There is a cannon and a slide, but it is 250-300 meters, I was not impressed, it can still be on sledges, but on skis ...And you are not. In the neighboring Velyatyn there is an excellent slide of 1000 or 1200 meters, but there is no snow for 5 years, the toboggan is not even launched. So don't even count here.
7. Excursions. There are 2 competing companies: "Erni Laz" and "Traveling Together". in principle, the programs are very similar, but it's all about the client. "Erney Laz" - the impression that the main thing is to sell them, hang noodles on their ears: there is snow, and the road is good, etc. We went with another company, experience in "Shayan" 40 years, it says a lot . Guide Andriana and her mother Olena Mykhailivna. We were satisfied.
There were: evenings (Kolyba opryshkiv), Unique Khust region (cheese factory, deer, ostriches, felt factory), wine and cognac tasting and Orthodox monasteries and churches. We went to Velyatyn to the thermal springs (taxi 60 UAH per car).
8. Conclusion. Good rest, calm, informative, health-improving, you understand that you know little about your country. Interesting land, language, legends, history, people. But: there are no roads, no service, etc.
The sanatorium is located at the beginning of the village, and if you walk further along the main street (which is paved with cobblestones, you can imagine 0-) then immediately pleased with the variety of offers where to stay: wooden cottages for one or more families "Chervona Ruta" and a restaurant of the same name , cafes ....everything your heart desires .....and gazebos, cafes, catamaran rides.
in principle, a little bored, but enough enough, although more dietary than usual. . but so it should be. . the profile requires it. Basic treatment includes a fairly minimal program - drinking water, mineral baths, ozokerite, and at the request of physicians.
procedures, exercise therapy, everything else in principle for an additional fee Also do not get bored guides offer to go to Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Khust, Beregovo and Velyatino-outdoor swimming pools with mineral water, Lake Synevyr, on the way to which there was a lift on a chairlift to the mountain 1000m - RAJU, etc. If there is a desire to go somewhere by public transport, then here there is no freedom of choice ....quite problematic for them with transport or travel, because the flights go or very early, once in the afternoon and another option to leave by bus carrying workers from neighboring bases and sanatoriums.
And of course shopping. . so. . so it can be done here ...many locals bring here their own products - honey, wine, tea, wool and goods from Hungary and other regions ....
Well, in general, I would like to go to another sanatorium, for example, "Carpathia", which we came across during a walk, and the infrastructure of which we really liked. . In general, if you love the mountains, nature, tranquility and there are no too high criteria, come here to rest and be treated - I guarantee you LIKE! ! ! ! ! ! !
junior suite), everything is new. Cons: Poor service. The bed was changed every 10 days. Garbage is not taken out on the May holidays - vacationers are obliged to do this. If you quarrel, then the relationship improves. Most of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs rest in the sanatorium. You could watch the swearing between them and the screams of which of them is cooler. A lot of people got on their nerves. In any case, it's better here, but the service is much worse than in Carpathia.
