The staff is not rude, but not particularly welcoming to you. Outraged - "curfew"! Should come at 23.00, and if later the entrance doors are closed and you need to ring the bell, and then listen to discontent in your address. People are on vacation, not in a pioneer camp!! ! To pay quite a lot of money and then listen... Separately, I want to say about the food! Morning and evening are almost the same. VERY LITTLE MEAT, and what they gave was miniature cutlets. Vegetable stew - large pieces of boiled zucchini and carrots, cabbage and chopped peppers zadolbali, undercooked potatoes. Actually the food is terrible! Pay 6 thousand UAH and go to eat in a cafe!! ! Silence in the evenings - find entertainment for yourself! But in general, I am satisfied with the rest - thanks to nature and the sea, but I don’t want to go to the "PEARL" anymore !! !
Several times they wrote here: if you are looking for entertainment, discos, this resort is not for you. Don't waste your time and money! There really is no entertainment here.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, if you need to recuperate after mental and / or physical overload, a noisy city, a frantic pace of life, a terrible environment - then you are here!
I come here only for the sake of the wonderful nature and comfortable beach. The park is huge and with unique vegetation - you don’t need to go to the Nikitsky Garden! As for the beach. In almost all sanatoriums and boarding houses of Crimea, outsiders are allowed on the beach (for a fee). As a result, the beaches are overcrowded, the sanatoriums need to take places almost at 6 in the morning, and by noon everyone is on top of each other...
Here the situation is different. The beach is only for sanatoriums (due to the seclusion of the sanatorium). There are enough plastic sunbeds for everyone: both in the shade and in the sun (besides, there are a lot of wooden ones). Particularly arrogant vacationers even occupied two sunbeds per person - 1 in the shade, 1 in the sun, but I did not have such impudence. You can also move freely along the beach, there is no overcrowding.
What has changed in the "Pearl" compared to other years?
There is more order and the staff is very attentive. Almost every day I saw the director on the beach and on the paths of the park (he could be calculated by the number of the surrounding retinue). It can be seen that he does not sit in the office, but personally keeps order. The security of the sanatorium appeared.
Further.
Rested in building 32. The staff often asked me - am I satisfied with everything, do I need anything? Very nice. And if there were any problems, I contacted them and they immediately reacted. Thank you very much to the staff of building No. 32 for that! So, for example, on the day of departure, I fell ill. There is no pharmacy kiosk nearby (which is also confirmed by the locals), the nearest one is only in Miskhor. I turned to the duty officer in the building, and she told me that there is a nurse's office on the territory of the sanatorium, I went there and the nurse gave me pills for free.
That is, if there are problems, vacationers should not run to complain to the authorities or somewhere else, but try to figure it out on the spot.
Let me summarize. On the positive side - nature, clean air, a wonderful beach, a good library, attentive staff. The waiters were excellent, all attentive and smiling. There are enough places in the restaurant for all vacationers.
From the negative. Didn't like the food. First, there is no variety. The whole period that I was, the same thing was served for breakfast, the same thing for lunch and dinner. The food is not that tasteless, but tasteless. July is the peak of the fruit and vegetable season, and we were fed with carrots, cabbage, seaweed, apples - that is, "winter" vegetables and fruits. To be fair, there were tomatoes and cucumbers. And where are the zucchini, eggplant, cherries, cherries, plums?
Meat is very tasteless. The buffet itself is not to my liking. It was better when vacationers were fed “as usual”. Less fuss, less running around the hall. Okay, even with trays, otherwise with every plate and glass you need to “shuttle” from the table to the line for food and back.
What else… The first floor of building No. 32 is very damp, even in the July heat. And not only I complained, but all my neighbors. On the one hand, this is the cheapest building, but now I won’t even stop there for free. Despite the attentive and caring staff. Health is more expensive. I'll choose another body.
1) The contingent is pensioners and disabled people with very young children. Leisure follows from this - namely, its complete absence! After 20-00 DEAD SILENCE and Chanson from a nearby bar.
2) MRC is not a sanatorium, so they won’t treat you there, because there is no one! - they send you to be treated and take tests to the Dnepr sanat (nearby) to the clinic in Miskhor and to the hospital in Livadia, as well as if you need urgent medicine - to a pharmacy in Yalta.
3) The staff is friendly, but this does not prevent him from climbing over personal things and stealing - and not in small ways - before leaving, an expensive swimsuit from the 35th building (1 k. ) was stolen from a closed room! - the calculation that before leaving no one will rush, and they will burn at home - it's too late (
4) Mosquitoes bite very much - and it heals for a very long time and a trace remains.
5) The beach is located in a picturesque place next to the swallow's nest pier, so the traffic there is like on the Moscow ring road at rush hour (with all the "charms" that follow from here - the exhaust of each arriving and departing boat with a frequency of every 5 minutes, two at a time, the rest waiting for their turn on the way - they smoke nearby.
Food. This year introduced a buffet - the choice is not so super-duper, but much better than before with orders. We all really liked it, both adults and children always had something to look forward to. Friendly waitresses, clean hall, constantly offering new portions.
There is a restaurant on site that lacks a dining area. Prices are not low, but something simple can be eaten for little money.
They also sell vegetables, fruits, water, but all this is about 10 UAH more expensive. than in the Yalta supermarket.
There was animation on the beach - fitness for adults and children.
2 times a week a disco for children, all Russian and pop, but there is. All other days - a disco for adults on the terrace of the cafe. Also, unfortunately, without a hint of something Ukrainian. On Independence Day we were shown some numbers that we just walked and never went there again. But you have a choice. There is a children's playground on site.
For vacationers here - free access to the Swallow's Nest.
The beach as often in the Crimea - pebbles. I was fine. And elderly couples wore special rubber shoes so that their feet would not sting. The water is clean from the outside, the eyes do not eat, just wearing a mask and diving, I saw that in fact it is quite muddy. But in the Gulf another year to look. To feel the clear sea, you need to take a boat and go far. In general, it was normal, the children hung out all day, everyone was happy.
One important caveat. No fencing on the beach.
If your child runs on the third terrace, it is quite possible to fall from a height of 10 meters on the rocks of the beach. Because it is not fenced by anything. It's like a balcony without railings. Also on other terraces for beds and berths, concrete walls do not end with anything, one step - and you're in the sea. Is it so difficult to put up an ordinary fence? I think that until someone fails, they will not supply anything. We did this: 3-year-old children were escorted to the lower terrace or to the beach and we made sure that they did not climb the mountain without adults.
It will be great to drive to the embankment of Yalta on the last day (so as not to spend all the money at once; ) - there are great attractions, lots of fun, both physical and mental.
The Crimea itself is traditionally tense: bad roads, lack of direct access from Simferopol without a change in Yalta, mud, etc. How money is earned, but little seems to be invested in infrastructure rehabilitation.
The worst memory: blocking roads for the sake of the president. He congratulated the Olympic team at the Livadia Palace. All transport is blocked, and do what you want, no one is interested in your problems. And to be late for the train is quite real. I was lucky - I was alone, without my wife and children, cross-country a few kilometers in the rain to Yalta. There are traffic jams, upside down again to the bus station, no one wants to stop and take a wet man to the salon for any money. Finally, a military man stopped in the old town and drove to the bus station, and there the Tatars, well done, organized alternative minibuses that go between the two only 1.5 hours.
Cons: the number of rooms, the absence of an outdoor pool in summer. Fans of fun in the evening will be bored.
Detail:
I rested in the sanatorium Zhemchuzhina in the first half of August 2012. At the time of buying the ticket, I found little in the reviews, I hope that mine will help someone now. I will try to post on the leading sites. I must say right away that I don’t mind coming here again, despite what is written below.
Duration of rest 2 weeks (2 adults + extra bed for a child 3 years old) cost 90.000 without tickets. Together with tickets and pocket expenses, the vacation cost 130.000 rubles.
Enclosures:
We lived in building 5 (the closest to the sea, overlooking the bay, it seems, from the south side) in a standard 2-bed room (lived in room 117.1st floor, view of the thickets of bushes, they completely save from prying eyes). I recommend building 5 as the closest to the sea (2 minutes walk to the stairs) and the dining room (1 minute). Opposite the playground (slide, swings). Some rooms with sea view. The disadvantages of building 5 are the number of rooms, even in the suite, the walls at the entrance were peeled off and painted over with paint of a similar color. The room looks bad. But not tight. The furniture is old, creepy to add to the bed, almost camping, it gave a couple of times when I sat on it. In the room (1st floor) there were cobwebs at the corners of the ceiling, at our request they were removed with a mop. There is a TV (did not catch clearly), a refrigerator (worked). There was always water in the bathroom with good pressure, which is a big plus. There was a bath, it had a shower that was not hung on the wall (the hook had been broken for a long time). Minus - there is rust on the tap, there is a lot of it and it is old. The balcony is large, plastic 2 chairs and a table. The ropes were stretched, and thanks for that. At the reception, you could ask for a basin for washing, the ironing board was in the common corridor, the iron was not taken, apparently at the reception. Bed linen was changed once a week, towels - 2 times a week. No hair dryer, no shampoo. There is soap, simple Soviet. A couple of times we were flooded by neighbors from above (they splashed a lot of water on the floor, a lot, and it dripped in our bathroom and corridor from the ceiling). It was late in the evening, almost at night. The administrator, a very lively and spontaneous woman in her simplicity, gave us a rag so that we could wipe the puddles ourselves, gave us another basin, and she herself went to scold the neighbors. We removed the water ourselves, as we realized that here we are not Turkey-Egypt, here we have our own view of the service, and this is easier to put up with than to dispute.
It seems that building 11 is after renovation with good furniture, according to the reviews of vacationers. I was not inside, but on the balconies of this building I saw brand new tables and chairs, not like in the 5th. Some rooms with sea view. Minus 11 building - stands on a hill, many steps lead to the building, for the elderly, not suitable for children, you get tired back and forth to the sea and the dining room to go down.
I don't recommend the rest of the boxes. Outwardly, they did not like it, they are further from the sea, as if in the outskirts, this is not for me.
Nutrition.
Buffet. The food is dietary (a lot of stew, just in time), without pork, fried and cakes, but very good in quality. I lost weight because I ended up eating without sacrificing satiety. The child ate everything. The waiters work very well, very quickly, all young, with a smile, and in Moscow you will not always find such a service. There were always enough places for post offices, but we did not walk in the 1st rows along with the hungry crowd. I heard from vacationers not for the first time that there was no buffet before (there was a custom-made and a small selection). In 2012, the management of the sanatorium changed, apparently, they started with a canteen. Now let them do the same with the number fund.
Animation for children is not every evening, on the bridge over the sea. Monotonous, but my son is not spoiled, it was new for him, he liked it.
Beach.
Your own beach. Pebbles, small at the entrance to the bay. The child ran along it without problems, it was not always convenient for me to enter, but it is quite tolerable, even useful. The sea is clear, if not stormy, which was rare. There were enough sun loungers if you had time before 10 am. Everyone had their own towels. There was a shower (did not use). There is also a manicure, pedicure, massage on the beach. Near the pier, boats cruised from it to Yalta and towards Simeiz. From the point of view of excursions, the village of Gaspra is a very advantageous place: 10 minutes away from the highway, there are several stops along it to the cable car. .
Treatment. Bars. The shops.
The price of the tour includes a minimum, the rest is paid. Untreated, can't rate. Didn't go to the bar, can't rate. There is only one shop-tent on the territory (swimwear, inflatable circles, fruits, water, magazines). The nearest shops are 10-20 minutes outside the territory of the sanatorium.
A big plus of the Pearl is its own beach. It is protected, like the whole territory. When settling, they wear bracelets on their hands. Sunbeds on the beach are free of charge (plastic or wooden), there is a separate smoking area and a small children's playroom, a toilet and a massage point, a cafe. The sea was warm 24 degrees. Pebble - medium. After the storm, they cleaned the beach. There are no complaints about the beach.
On the territory of the old park, terraces overlooking the sea and direct access to the Swallow's Nest. There is an indoor pool with sea water, but it did not work during the season....the sea is nearby!
Number of course - sovdep. Basically expected. For an overnight stay - go. Refrigerator, TV, balcony overlooking the park.
From entertainment - cinema in the club, excursions, tennis court.
We drove with our car to Foros (a very beautiful church on a rock), Levadia. I wanted more to lie on the beach.
The food in the dining room is average. Small selection on the menu. But in principle there were no complaints. Sanatorium food - easily digestible =) No fresh food - not noticed. Covered quickly (the sanatorium was full!!! ).
There was no desire to waste time on medical procedures, but they went to drink herbal tea and oxygen foam. Tea - free of charge, foam - 3 UAH.
Car parking on the territory - paid (30 UAH per day).
Maybe I forgot to mention something - write the answer!
Let's start with the bad to end with the good:
- the terrain is mountainous, steep, those who have problems with their legs and heart - not here;
- the attitude of some personnel to their duties;
- mooring near the beach with 1 boat / 20 min. , several times the smoke was noticeable;
- the beach is small;
- employment of sun loungers with towels for the whole day without the presence of "occupiers";
- the condition of the rooms (32 bldg. ) wants to be better, but for a "spend the night" is normal.
- the cost of excursions, for example, for transportation in both directions of 1 person without a guide to the water area (10-15 minutes) they take 50 UAH;
- in some places an abandoned park, in some places "requesting" repairs;
- food for a C grade with a plus, if it were not for the practical lack of vegetables, one could put a solid 4;
- to the "normal" store you need to go along the road to the neighboring sanatorium;
- tickets to Simferopol must be taken in Miskhor (10 minutes by minibus from the sanatorium).
Well, now for the positive:
+ Awesome, large artificial park with a lot of diverse vegetation and beautiful alleys;
+ Clean beach with small-medium pebbles, when it warms up, you lie like on coals;
+ The location itself is very beautiful, among the mountains, a view of the Swallow's Nest;
+ Pretty good procedures. Excellent massage therapists. Charcot shower and circular "charges" for the whole day. Good gym.
+ Evening programs in the club (cinema, concerts, karaoke, children's activities);
+ The presence of cafes and sports and souvenir shops (the higher the mountain, the cheaper: );
+ A lot of what you can visit yourself by public transport from the sanatorium;
+ Sea, air and water!
