I don't even know where to start - it's bad. Choosing a ticket, the final decision was made after reading the reviews (indecently good). Arriving at lunchtime, we were left hungry because there was not enough food for us. 99% of vacationers are Arabs, as it turned out later, the hotel was opened just for them in the last 3 years. There were several pairs of tourists frantically collecting things (changed with a surcharge to other hotels). They learned from them that our room was open for two days and cats lived in it, which was confirmed by the corresponding smell. Resigned to the fact that there would be no entertainment, there was great hope for the beach. The beach is 140 steep steps down, a limited number of sunbeds which were constantly not enough, 2 sunbeds were given for 6 people, there is no toilet, no shower. The hotel has two swimming pools only in the photo. . . both were very dirty (Arab women bathed in it in their clothes) the second jacuzzi pool did not work. Internet paid $10 for 7 days. The music is only Arabic, they gave their flash drive. Outside, billiards and table football are all very old and worth a fee. The staff does not speak Russian or English. We communicated in Russian only with the hotel administrator (for which special thanks to him). Eating pasta and rice every day. . . sooo meager assortment, even bread was not always left. Most of the guests are very old people. Lights out at 11 o'clock, you can't make noise and listen to music. Not to mention the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. I am not picky in choosing a hotel, modesty suits me without unnecessary pathos and animation, but this hotel made me very upset.

For a 3* this is a very good hotel. Especially if you want to travel on excursions. The hotel is still boring, because there is no animation, the territory is small (but cozy). If you are going to see fish, corals, etc. , naturally you will get it. The bus to the beach runs according to the schedule, you can walk on foot or take a taxi for $ 1.

The food is monotonous, yes, but we were not hungry. In some rooms there are all sorts of "animals" such as cockroaches and bedbugs, but we were lucky and it's good!!!
The overall result - it is quite possible to go for little money. Acceptable. The hotel did not spoil the impressions of Egypt. If you want to be licked from head to toe, it is better to choose a higher category hotel. Remember the golden rule in any hotel - if you treat the staff humanely, they will answer the same)))

We went from Turtes, at the end of October, a direct flight from Lviv. Airline Windrose, aircraft - Boeing MD 82, in normal condition. When landing, ask for seats in the front, the rear ones are very noisy, Douglas' engines are near the tail. The service is normal, they gave us food and drink and put us to bed)).

When landing, ask for seats in the front, the rear ones are very noisy, Douglas' engines are near the tail. The service is normal, they gave us food and drink and put us to bed)). The hotel is a 15 minute drive from the airport. The guide gave a short briefing, do not drink tap water, haggle everywhere (even in pharmacies), do not give big tips (1 pound is often enough). They settled 2 hours after arrival, all this time a local guide sat with us and tried to sell excursions. I must say that you can buy something from him (excursion on a yacht + diving on Tiran Island) - the price can be brought down to the level of street agencies. The rest is almost double the price. Excursions to Jerusalem were taken on the beach from Alex for $ 85 per person, and it turned out to be crap with Israeli visas. The agency did not submit documents for a visa, and as a result, the trip fell through. The border officer explained that the person was not on the list, and this was not a refusal of a visa, but they simply did not hand over the documents, you arrive in 2 days - we will deliver it without problems. I had to return in the middle of the night by taxi from Taba to Sharm (250 km). The taxi was paid for by an Arab guide who was waiting on the Egyptian side. He said it was their fault and he was fired from his job. He promised to return the money the next day in the same place where the excursion was bought. As a result, the next day, Alex tried to get a taxi on the beach (like we arrived safely - pay). After a short run-in with us in English, he agreed to give the amount minus $ 10. They did not spoil their nerves, they took the money. Not a big problem, Israel is not going anywhere, let's go again.
It is really necessary to bargain and often brazenly, because the prices are unrealistic. It is best to exchange a small amount of dollars in the bank for pounds, it is more profitable to buy. The rate of 1 dollar is 5.76 pounds, in the bazaar everyone counts 1:5.
Real prices: taxi from the hotel to El Fanar beach - 5 pounds (5 minutes drive). Water in the store 2-2.5 pounds, an average quality mask with a snorkel - 8-10 dollars, slippers - 5 dollars. The hotel has a souvenir shop, there are also good prices, you can buy and not go far. It is worth taking a walk at the Old Market, the prices are even lower. There are a lot of fakes, especially papyrus and alabaster (the real one is expensive and very heavy).
The beach is small but the SEA makes up for everything. You still need to look for such beauty, take a mask and snorkel and swim 40-50 meters from the shore until the shoal ends, where the yachts are. After that, all the shortcomings will seem like a trifle about which you can not remember. You need to come to the beach for a maximum of half-10 by taxi, then there may not be places. The small beach is divided between three hotels. In reality, there are 20 seats on the Sun Set, no more. The hotel will need a fumigator, mosquito repellent, a bag with a lock, a key with you (we did not trust the safe at the reception). There is no animation, for this you need to take a taxi to Naama Bay, it costs a maximum of 20 pounds one way. There is something to see, walk along the promenade. In general, everything is as expected from the Egyptian trio, the shortcomings are not so serious as to spoil your vacation because of them. If you want service - go to 5 *, but pay 3 times more.

We rested in the Sun Set 3 * in October 2010. I want to note right away that the hotel is not for tourists with claims for high service. This is a completely ordinary average Sharmovsky three-ruble note for those who do not want to pay a lot of money for a hotel, but believe that it is better to spend more on the rest itself! The hotel does not have a large territory. Far from the beach, but the bus runs. A beach with beautiful corals, but we didn’t always go to the beach of our hotel - there were often not enough sunbeds and there were a lot of people in general. The guests of our hotel said that there was an excellent wild equipped beach - that’s where we spent almost the entire vacation! The food, as in most "three-ruble notes" in Egypt or Turkey, is not varied and of the same type - a small selection of side dishes, vegetables, one type of meat or chicken, they cook quite tolerably, I have not heard anyone complain about stomach problems (at least during our stay there). Many were outraged that the chef himself solemnly puts the meat dish on the plates of the guests - well, why be surprised? It's normal for an economy hotel - if you want to impose yourself and as much as you like, choose hotels higher than the star rating!
Our room overlooked the patio - of course, there was no beautiful view, like the people who lived overlooking the pool, but it was always quiet with us - but for us, people who are no longer young, this is a huge plus! And of the minuses - this is cleaning of the room, it was not at all. We returned from the beach, found the beds made - that's it! wet cleaning was clearly not carried out, bed linen was not changed, despite the tips that we regularly left.
The purpose of our trip to Egypt this year was pilgrimage. We booked 2 excursions of this kind: visiting Mount Moses + St. Catherine's Monastery and a two-day tour to Israel with a trip to the Dead Sea, to Bethlehem, visited the Wailing Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, examined many other sights. Excursions were ordered from the Super Sky Tour operator - we have been communicating with the guys for more than a year and they always delight us with their work. I wish you all positive and bright impressions from your trips!

"Metro", old market - 1.5-2 km). To Naema Bay by fixed-route taxi for 1 pound -6 km, about 15 minutes drive. The hotel staff is characterized by subtle oriental humor (private details), partly understands Russian, most in English and all in Arabic): . Passwords to start a conversation: salam, thanks - shukran, please: athos, min fadlak. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, water is always. There are no problems with a quiet overnight stay.
You need to organize entertainment yourself, there are a lot of different tours nearby. agencies, prices are different, you can negotiate. The main thing is to be friendly and mobile. Beach own, coral, but a lot of people.
My conclusion: For moderate money, you can calmly, decently recuperate in the periods between excursions.
But, as “nadin65” writes, and the sea? Beaches? Sea yes... ! Turquoise-blue, with violet transitions to depth. Salty, dense (you won’t drown). Any living creature, not frightened. Sea urchins stick out of all the holes with needles, stepping is not recommended. Corals also sting, but they are beautiful and majestic, like stones in the renal pelvis (who saw : )), fish of all sizes, shapes, colors and shades. From the big fish I saw 2 moray eels, 2 stingrays, and at a depth - (the wall going down - 1 km? ) 2 big fish frolic. Visibility is excellent, 40 meters. (I was scuba diving at 20 meters, so you can clearly see up and down). Purple blue and depth down: scary - breathtaking, and up - people are splashing, fish are hiding on the coral wall in the pits, swimming around the reef. Colorful corals are growing. The water is warm, an hour of swimming did not freeze. Well, it's probably good for your health. Salinity is still high. Gargled his throat.
On the beach of the hotel (the reef is awesome), (6 hotels are fixed, a bit crowded), and the truth is that the cliff is about to fall down, but no one cares. But I found 2 wild beaches, one at the end of Naema Bay - deserted, the second in Nadaba near the Old Market - 15 Russian tourists swam and 2 policemen guarded them. You just have to go down the mountain. Beauty, but no shade - for whites - take a sheet.
To summarize: I will go again, but I will take all my diving equipment. And I will dive, photos, videos and mood...
PS: Thank you "nadine65", "i. sharm", your help and information helped a lot.
Good luck Yuri.

We arrived at 10 am, the keys were given an hour later. Safe at reception is free. Room - modestly, 2 beds, TV set, refrigerator, wardrobe, air conditioning. They cleaned almost every day, laid out the beauty of the towels, although the towels themselves were never changed for 7 days))) 2-storey cottages, some in greenery, some, as we had, with a view of the neighboring poor hotel. The territory is small, the pool is beautiful, but the water in it is cold, so we never swam in it. Tourists: Arabs, Estonians, Ukrainians and Russians, in decreasing order. Well, everyone knows that excursions in hotels are expensive.
The food we had was breakfast and dinner. Breakfast consisted of an edible scrambled eggs, boiled eggs with ketchup and delicious rolls, there were some other cereals, soy sausage and cheese. Drinks - Yupi and tea. Dinner is much better: salads, soup, garnish, something fish and meat, sweets, delicious pastries. No drinks, only those with AI went to the bar for some water. In general, there was always enough of everything, there was not much excitement at the distribution, they did not remain hungry.
It takes 5 minutes to get to the beach by "shuttle bass", it runs on schedule more or less smoothly. We take a towel at the reception and go : ) on the beach, sun loungers are assigned to their hotels, there are strains with "their" places, we turn on the impudence and lie down where freely. The main thing you MUST HAVE is swimming slippers, because if you cut your foot on coral, you risk ruining your vacation. 200 meters from the beach there is a pier, coming to which such coral beauty opens up that it is difficult to describe in words, the reef is one of the best in Sharm. Take a mask and enjoy. On the beach, prices are not cheap, beer is around 5 ye.
The hotel itself is located 20 minutes walk from the Old Town - Old Market. This is such a hefty market where you can buy everything, and bring down the price to at least 50% of the original one.
The hotel staff and the Arabs in general are people with a sense of humor, so I advise you to tune in to their wave and make fun with them. In SunSet, they don’t indulge in disciplined European service, so take it easy, 3 * after all)))) and you will have happiness and peace of mind)))
Summary - money pays off with a head of coral happiness and an October temperature of +30))) the rest is at the level of 3 *

The hotel is not very large, modest and clean, obviously not very new, BUT it has its own swimming pool, in which the water changes every night, its own garden with palm trees and greenery, a colorful hookah bar, however, in my opinion, it did not work - as- there was no time to ask.
The rooms are an ordinary clean room with beds, bedside tables, a mirror, a TV (2 Russian-language channels), a small refrigerator and a telephone (calls between rooms are free, if you call abroad, you will be billed). Shower and toilet are shared. Cleaning is carried out daily: including the change of beds and towels, and for a tip in the form of a dollar from towels, they will depict a whole menagerie for you and shower it all with flower petals - it turns out very romantic : )
Meals - my husband and I took breakfast and dinner. There was not much variety in the food, but everything was very tasty and nutritious, and the choice is quite varied. In the morning, scrambled eggs, a large selection of salads, sausages, cheese, several types of hot beans, milk soup, eggs, and tea/coffee/compote. Buffet so quantity is unlimited. Dinner - soup (every evening is different, and always delicious), many types of salads, several types of side dishes, 2 types of meat, just awesome pastries!!! ! they were ready to eat pastries in kilograms, if they climbed : ))) And for dinner, one kind of fruit. The only thing is that there is no drink for dinner. In general, when we arrived, we thought that we would have to have an additional lunch somewhere, but there was enough food at the hotel. During the day they bought only fruit. If you wish, you can eat at the bar, drink and drink there, but it's already a little expensive. If everything is included, then this question is swept aside by itself.
The beach is about 25 minutes walk from the hotel, but it also runs its own bus - 2 times there, 1 back. the time, of course, is not very convenient (10-00.14-00 - there, 16-00 - back), especially for those who dine at the hotel. But you can always slow down the bus of a nearby hotel and get there for a penny, or take a taxi for 1-2 dollars, which we usually did. The beach itself is not the hotel's own, but divided somewhere into 5 hotels, so if you arrive late, you will have to wait for a sunbed, but this is easily solved, as soon as you buy something on the beach, you immediately become a welcome client and you will always find a place : ) )) there's nothing to be done, this swindler has such a (: )) mentality. We, not knowing this, bought slippers for swimming in the sea on the first day, and had no problems. As for the sea, Fanara Beach has an amazing huge coral reef - a huge variety of fish, simply indescribable shapes, sizes and colors !! ! The corals are just fantastic! In general, it is better to see once than to read 100 times : )
In total, this hotel is suitable for people who care not about the chic of the apartments, but about cleanliness and order, and who prefer outdoor activities outside the hotel walls to entertainment within its walls.

- a good beach, a minibus takes you to the beach, 4 times from 10.00 to 16.00. So the beach is located in the bay, there are a lot of corals and fish, and there is no wind in the bay and the sea is calm.
Disadvantages:
-cleaning is not up to par, for the whole stay the dust in the room was never wiped off.
-On the beach they give out terrible towels, they are clean, but they only wash the floors.
-food is so-so, breakfast is monotonous and without much variety, hot drinks for dinner for a fee, and only lousy coffee or black tea, and a cup of boiling water costs a van dollar. The cuisine is basically European, but a little bland.
There were mosquitoes in the room, we fought them every night. And here's another IMPORTANT: TAKE WITH YOU A FUMIGATION FROM MOSQUITOES ON PLATES, T. K. THEY HAVE VERTICAL SOCKETS, a liquid fumigator will not work.
- the minibus happened to the beach or from the beach was packed so that you had to go with the letter Zyu.
- comrades, they are not so punctual, the minibus can linger for 40-60 minutes. so the main thing is that no one even apologizes.
So, to summarize:
You can go to those who are not whimsical about food and conditions, everything is quite tolerable for little money.
Advantages:
- convenient location, not far from infrastructure and entertainment.

Rested twice in Sharm in 3-shki, "Uni Sharm" and "Badawia". I could not think that in nature there is such a disgusting hotel as "Sun Set"! Upon arrival, they gave 5 bucks at the reception to give us a good room. At first glance it looks really good. But we spent the whole night in the fight against mosquitoes, which were teeming with swarms! When we asked for something from mosquitoes, they said at the reception that they would bring a spray to our room.

We never waited for him and bought a fumigator. In fact, it turned out to be ineffective.
The hotel worker, who walked around with a “gun” for baiting mosquitoes, bypassed only the floor of the hotel, leaving the wing with our room unattended.
The food is monotonous, especially breakfast! The whole choice is boiled and fried eggs, puff buns without anything and one kind of jam. Salads were generally amazing - mostly chopped cabbage. They could just as well put a rock and a knife. By the last day of rest from food already turned back. Some vacationers even went to the cafe to eat. The meat was of the same type, very tough, only the form of serving changed - in the form of sausages or the type of washers. Sometimes there was chicken and fish. There was no seafood. Of the fruits, a couple of times they gave melon and oranges. All! No dates, which are in buckets in other hotels, were not observed.
The bar on the very first night said that you can get a second drink only after drinking the first one. And I ordered whiskey and wanted to drink it with cola... After they informed the guide, he seemed to figure it out, then they made cocktails normally.
Very nice people - bartenders Mahrus and Ayman, many thanks and respect to them!
A tiny bus with 10 seats went to the beach, despite the fact that there were many people who wanted to. As a result, we had to wait 40 minutes for sunbeds, which were placed directly into the water, because a tiny section of the hotel beach could not accommodate everyone. After that we just went to the beach by taxi early.
At lunchtime, there was no cold water in the shower, sometimes even boiling water spat.
In short, if you want to spoil your vacation - welcome to Sun Set! I do not advise to go here, no matter how big the discount is.
