The Klaipeda Hotel - the former "City Park", changed owners in 2007, was renovated and has since looked quite decent in a seasoned technocratic style. We did not notice any particular shortcomings, with the possible exception of a very meager continental breakfast in the morning. The location of the hotel is very good - in the very center of the city, on the square in front of the cathedral. During our stay, the annual Kaziukas fair was also taking place - a colorful bazaar of artisans and merchants, which started right from our hotel, so we did not have to be bored. A lot of wickerwork made of straw, wood crafts, gingerbread and "kazyuki" - home-made wicker bouquets - all this was in abundance on the streets of the city.
The Lithuanian language is completely incomprehensible to our ears, the people are friendly, the girls are blue-eyed and fair-haired.
Lithuanian cuisine does not impress with its variety of dishes. Most of them are potato-based, various grated casseroles, fried pancakes, soups, all have potato as their basis. In Vilnius there is a restaurant "Locus" - it's worth trying the beast there : ) Here they cook meat of beaver, roe deer, deer, bear, wild boar, and all this is really tasty.
Of the national alcoholic drinks, it is worth noting medusa - a drink brewed according to traditional Lithuanian recipes based on honey and herbs of various strengths.
What to see: Old Town in Vilnius, Museum of Devils and Cherlenis in Kaunas, Trakai Castle in Trakai.
How much it costs: an average dinner for two is 25-35 litas in a national restaurant and from 60 litas in a higher-class restaurant. 1 litas - 3 hryvnias.
Have a nice trip: )
