The food in an ordinary dining room will be terrible, as a result, I paid extra 200 rubles per day to go to the VIP dining room on the 3rd floor of the 1st building, it is better and closer there. (but even there, if the food is not eaten at lunch, it will be presented in the form of another dish for dinner. ) I have not drunk such terrible coffee from a coffee machine anywhere . . it's slop.
Parking for a car costs 300 days, but if you park the car for 14 days, the cost will be 150 rubles per day. Some guests were "pleasantly surprised" that parking is chargeable.
The Soviet cable car lowers and raises to the beach, it has its own work schedule, if it does not work, you will have to climb the mountain at 45 degrees, will an elderly person or a person with disabilities withstand it? The beach itself is narrow with pebbles, there are no sunbeds on the pebbles from Marat, they stand on the balcony, which is above the beach and under a canopy (for those who like to sunbathe themselves). The sea is clean, but with a lot of jellyfish.
The sanatorium itself is of Soviet construction, did you miss the Soviet Union? Then you are in Marat. This sanatorium saves on everything where it can be done, repairs are only where it can be seen (the railings on the stairs in the first building are new only up to the third floor, then Soviet wooden ones begin, etc. ) There are non-residential destroyed buildings on the territory. The facades of the buildings in which the guests live have been repaired, but only from the sides visible to the guests.
In building 1, the rooms have been renovated, the floor is not parquet, but tiles, the walls are painted and there is an LCD TV on the wall. The elevator in the first building is one that can only be entered by four, the second is always under repair (at least the 3rd year in a row according to the guests), although the building has 9 floors and there are a lot of rooms, you can wait 10 minutes on the first floor under the air conditioner (after the pool in wet swimming trunks and with wet hair, this is very healthy).
The contingent is parents with problem children and the military after Chechnya and Afghanistan, etc. . Those who received a ticket for free and who had no choice were generally satisfied with this sanatorium.
On the territory they smoke wherever they want, at least in front of the entrance to the first building where the main reception is located, they drink wherever they want, at least pour wine by the pool, no one will say a word. Whose windows overlook the pool will listen to the same loud music until 22:00.
And hot water is turned off from 23:00 to 7:00, this is another type of savings.
The pros are the nature of the Crimea and the clear sea, but Marat has nothing to do with it.
No wonder there are no photos of rooms, buildings, a buffet and a pool bar on the site... )))
We went according to the reviews and regretted it (I still don’t understand who writes reviews for this hotel, since the feedback after personal communication with a dozen vacationers indicates the opposite).
Gave for 9 nights (2 adults + 1 child) SEMILYUSK (it is very difficult to call it a junior suite), the same as for Turkey 5 *. Shame, nothing else.
From the airport to the resort to go 2.40-3 hours. At 11 in the morning we drove up to the fence with the inscription "Park Hotel MARAT", met some man with a badge from the hand "MARAT" and showed with his hand where to go. The road from the gate to the first building of the sanatorium goes 500 meters to a very decent hill with asphalt from the 50s, along which it is simply impossible to carry a suitcase of 20 kg (and no one will help you even for money).
After we got to the first building, we were pleasantly surprised (see photo) - very beautiful! We quickly filled out guest questionnaires, in return we received cardboard cards instead of bracelets with a chip (we don’t eat, swim and ride a cable car). They said to come for the bracelets after lunch (14h).
At 11.15 we checked into the room (unfortunately, there is no original view of the room, since there was a night flight and it was simply not up to it, but the photo was taken at check-out) and went to the pool for a swim.
The main area of the pool is 2 meters deep - and not a SINGLE staircase! Have you ever seen this?
After the pool, we returned to the room, changed clothes and gathered for dinner, but found that in the JUNIOR SUITE, which was paid for three, only 2 pillows. On the way to lunch, we went to the reception and said that after a night flight we want to rest - they said okay, after dinner there will be a third pillow. After lunch, we went to the reception (1 building) to get bracelets with chips - a deposit for 1 pc. 300r. Having reached the reception of their building (2), they called us and said that the third pillow would be brought to us only by 21.00, since the maids could not cope (there were 3 of them on 10 floors). WOW! And we want to sleep. The issue was resolved with difficulty.
VIP dining room - hug and cry. One room of 30 sq. m. - everything. And three of the same rooms with tables and chairs. From the menu: 1 soup, 2 broths without filling, rice / pasta not every day, I tried different meatballs for 5 days - I didn’t find edible ones (in the context of the cutlets, everything is interspersed: skins of sausage, sausages, fat... “I blinded you from the fact that was "), 3 plates with sweets (regular dry cakes in the context - no variety), milk only for breakfast, drinks: tea / coffee from the machine, jelly, hibiscus, water. The child ate only pasta (which is not every day), chicken broth (by the way 3 times a day) and bread - a very successful menu for all inclusive! No beer, white/red dry wine for lunch and dinner. Breakfast 8.00 – 10.00. Lunch 13.00 - 15.00. Dinner 18.00 - 20.00.
Twice I found dirty cutlery and hair in the food, the administrator Maria climbed into my plate and took a piece of food with a napkin to notify the cooks. After that, she developed a prejudiced attitude towards me (she didn’t answer the questions posed; if she did, she spoke in a boorish way; she forbade me to photograph the buffet, and didn’t make any comments to others). In addition, with our family, the administrator of the VIP dining room, Maria, approached the next table and asked three lovely ladies to write more positive reviews in the book of complaints and suggestions (arguing that they were getting bonuses for this). In exchange for such reviews, she herself personally brought food and strong drinks to these three ladies - although such service is not provided.
Dishes in the VIP dining room are not signed from the category: "pies" - with what? - unclear. Cooks and waiters say that you need to ask them what the dishes are from, since they are forbidden to write the filling... Why? - unclear.
A cook named Arzu kindly asked what I didn’t like, and after my answer he said: “DO NOT LIKE - DO NOT COME HERE AGAIN! ” Is it customer centric? In addition, Arzu daily charged his phone right over the tourists' food (see photo).
By the way, those who go to regular rooms, regardless of whether everything is inclusive or not, will eat in the gate area (the entrance to the hotel), they have a separate dining room there (that is, first down the mountain, after dinner up to the room). VIP dining room begins with junior suites and above.
In the rooms (regardless of category) there is no hair dryer and kettle. 2 hairdryers per building and 1 kettle per floor. In a pandemic, this is especially wonderful! Disposable gels, shampoos, soaps are placed once upon arrival. They offered to change the sheets on the penultimate night. Towels were changed three times (I had to run for the maids on my own). The mirror in the bathroom is about 70 cm away from it, and the second one is in the back room at the level of the navel. That is, there is nothing to look at before going out. They don’t take out the garbage from the rooms themselves (we always had a battery of bottles, see photo), until you also ask (they also ask vacationers and children to give them trash cans... ). I had to buy toilet paper, because it is simply unbearable to use what they provide. The toilet lid closes as soon as you sit on it - you had to stick it with tape! ))) There are no safes in the rooms, only at the reception - 60 rubles. per day (they give the key, the cells are freely available - like at the station). The bed creaks so much that it's impossible to just silently get out of it, let alone lie down comfortably. There is not a single lamp in any room! SAVING ON EVERYTHING!!!
The reception staff (who have been working for 15 years) say that they regularly report complaints to the management, but the management has seen everything!
The water slide is open during the peak hours of the sun from 14.00 to 16.00 - I have never seen anything like this either. Is it that no one rides on it?
There is only one lifeguard for the pool, and he also acts as a cleaner (the glasses that fly around the pool area and in the pool, he crushes with his foot and kicks away).
The pool bar operates on an all-inclusive basis only from 10.00 to 20.00. After 20.00 the bar works for money! Beer diluted with water 3k1 is sold for 100 rubles))))))))))))) One day after 17.40 there was no water in the bar, subject to the all-inclusive mode until 20.00 inclusive (there is a photo). Three days after arrival at the sanatorium, we had free ice cream at the bar, and three days later it became paid. After clarifying this situation, the reception staff (building 1) said: “We have neither a reception nor a bar, no one is responsible for anything. Everyone washed their hands and it’s not in business here ”- there is a video! Instead of evening karaoke, three days included films about the palaces of Crimea, arguing that they do not have the Internet - the 21st century is May.
There is not a single cocktail in the bar (neither paid nor free, neither for children nor for adults). They took pizza (after a time delicious), french fries (the child, in fact, ate only her), tried a hot dog - dry food. At the bar you can take water 0.5 when I came to take 4 pieces of water, I was told that only by the number of people in the room and only each person personally. If it’s not enough, you can come back in 10 minutes again and take 3 pcs again. Food from the pool bar can only be eaten at the tables, they argue that people do not throw out the garbage and it flies into the pool (I will attach a photo of the trash can at the bar). However, you can take drinks from the bar to the pool. And the fact that then everyone bathes not in the pool, but in glasses - this is not a problem!!!
The beach is NOT OWN. The beach is not divided into VIP and ordinary (although the site says that there is still a division). Anyone can get on it, so there is not much space. To get to the beach, you need to exit the hotel (500 m), cross the road and walk another 100 m. then take the cable car and within 5-7 minutes. drive 1.2 km. to the beach. For two days there was a strong wind, the beach was half empty. And in calm, if you come after 9 o'clock - there are no more places (neither on sunbeds, nor on stones). Beach towels are not provided. You can take it from your room, but keep in mind that they are changed every 5-6 days. There are no umbrellas. What the sanatorium publishes on its website, namely the beach (where ala cabins with mattresses and a curtain) is not like that! Naked concrete! No mattresses or curtains!
It is very difficult to enter the water without coral slippers. The sea is clean. Once there was a surf of jellyfish. You can jump from the breakwater pier (about 3-4 meters deep). No fun on the beach (banana, pill, jet ski).
Before entering building 2, it drips from the air conditioners right in the middle of the automatic doors - one way or another it regularly hits.
When leaving the building, you must hand over the keys to the reception, and upon returning, say your room number and they give you the key (in fact, you can say any number, they checked it).
From the pros:
The junior suite has two large balconies, but no chairs or tables;
Two air conditioners, which thankfully worked;
The view from the room was amazing (photo attached);
TV (by the way, we had to buy batteries for the remote control ourselves);
The cable car is like a mini-journey (staff are very kind and pleasant);
The sea is clean.
In the VIP dining room, the waitress Anastasia is a very pleasant and responsible girl.
Own pebble beach, for the descent there is a private cable car. The hotel has a medical center. Animation program for every day for children. Not far from the hotel there are attractions: Vorontsov Palace, Swallow's Nest, Yusupov Palace, Countess Panina's Palace.
In general, we were satisfied with the rest!
They settled us in the sanatorium within 10 minutes (the young man at the reception was polite), took into account our wish. The room matches the description on the site. The impressions from the rest are the most positive, thanks to the hotel staff, so to those gentlemen who write that it’s expensive and everything is bad, I personally can say that only cheese in a mousetrap is cheap, keep in mind that some rooms in the Marat Hotel are, well, a maximum of 3 stars, and therefore, in my opinion, the price and quality here are quite adequate, all the conditions are spelled out on the site.
