On the beach - umbrellas and sun loungers. The hotel provides beach towels. When we read about Paphos before the trip, the comments about the beaches, or rather about their absence, were very disturbing. In our hotel, it was possible to enter the sea from the shore, there is also a pontoon from which you can go down the ladder into the sea. By the way, we were really lucky with the weather. We sunbathed and swam in the sea every day.
The food at the hotel is very varied. We took half board (breakfast + dinner), more than enough. This is a buffet (buffet) with an unlimited number of approaches. The food quality is wonderful. At the entrance to the restaurant, the waiters meet you and seat you at the tables themselves, so take some small things with you - a scarf, a scarf and leave it on the table, because with a large crowd of people you get lost, and you can safely walk around the hall and choose dishes - your no one will take the table. For dinner, it is customary to order wine, juices and other drinks, the waiters first of all offer a wine list. The wine is not very expensive, white table wine is about 7 euros per bottle, you can take a glass of local beer "KEO" - not bad. In the evening, the dress code is observed - men only in trousers, they look askance at ladies in revealing dresses. We went to the center for lunch. There are a lot of cafes, bars, almost all offer a menu in Russian, but quite expensive - about 40-50 euros for two. Sometimes, on especially hot days, we dined at the hotel - the same buffet, payment at the checkout or an appointment for your room. It turned out much cheaper, and most importantly - delicious and a large selection of dishes.
One of the features of the hotel is that children under 16 are not allowed, so there is no animation during the day. In the evening and at lunchtime, there is live music at the open-air bar and restaurant, the boy guitarist performs songs from the 80s and 90s - very pleasant and relaxing. On Fridays, Cypriot evenings - with national dances and an orchestra.
The contingent of vacationers is this - 80% of elderly Englishmen, they go here constantly, as in a sanatorium, there are Germans, very few French and Russians. There is little entertainment, everything is designed for a very, very relaxing holiday.
My husband and I thought for a long time what this hotel resembles, then we realized that it was a boarding house from the movie "Dirty Dancing", when all the staff runs around you, and you sit and do harm.
Hotel. We were the only ones from the bus who came to Pioneer Beach, the girls at the reception do not speak Russian, but the hotels have a hotel guide Elena, who fully told us everything about the hotel and about the features of staying in Cyprus. Our check-in went very quickly and the room was completely arranged (as a gift from the hotel we received a bottle of local wine and a plate of fruit, a trifle but nice). The air conditioning worked properly, there was an ironing board and iron in the room, bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee making facilities, a plasma TV with three Russian channels. Cleaning in the room, updating soap accessories daily, as well as changing towels, and in a double room there are 4 beach towels. Bed linen was changed three times in a week. In-room safe the size of a laptop - free of charge.
Beach. On the beach, the entry is convenient and you can enter both from the shore and from the pontoon, the only negative is the algae, they are not removed. Sun beds on the beach as well as umbrellas for free.
Meals: We had breakfasts and dinners. Moreover, dinner can be changed for lunch, for this you go to the reception in the morning and take a voucher that you present when paying for drinks at the checkout. For breakfast, there is always freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as several types of packaged (orange, mango, pomegranate, peach, apple, etc. ) which are poured into carafes, as for food, breakfast is always the same, although there is a large selection. As for dinners, there is a variety here, there were mussels and shrimps, lamb, various fish, etc. Everything is very delicious. Drinks during lunch and dinner for a fee, water 1 liter 1.8 euros, wine from 10 euros. Moreover, in the city in the supermarket, a bottle of 1.5 bottles of water costs 30 euro cents, you can’t bring drinks with you.
Excursions. I can’t say anything about excursions from Natalie Tours, because thanks to the disgusting attitude of the guide Inga, we didn’t order anything from them. But we went on a spinning trip on a ship. 50 euros per person. We ordered directly at the pier in the port, a girl from Belarus Christina works there. The minus of this excursion is that the entire program is in English, but if you eat with a company, then I think it will be even a plus. Food on the ship (buffet) free of charge drinks for a fee except a glass of wine per person. Fireworks at the end of the evening. We also liked the saxophonist Evgeny Mikhailovich, he played very well.
The next day after arrival, we rented baguettes (my husband really wanted to ride), 50 euros / day. A very interesting machine, thanks to which we visited the Archaeological Park. An amazing place with preserved mosaics of the 2nd-3rd century.
We drove the entire southern and northwestern coast of Cyprus in a rented car, which was rented on the street. Laidos. We had a Suzuki Jimmy, they took it for 2 days for 35 euros per day + 40 euros gasoline + 300 euros a deposit, which was returned to us after the car was returned. I strongly advise you to have a navigator, since it is not always clear on the map where you are and where to go next.
Our first stop was the birthplace of Aphrodite or Petra tou Romiou, we liked it very much, on one side of the stone the waves reach two meters and on the other an absolutely calm sea. Then we were in Limassol and Larnaca. Next, we visited the Monastery of Agia Napa and the last stop was Cape Greka. On the second day we visited the Baths of Adonis, the Baths of Aphrodite, museum-factory of local wines.
Dining in Paphos. They cook there very tasty and all portions are simply orgamous, especially the local meze, both fish and meat. I also advise you to try the wine Saint Panteleimon. But as for the price, everything is very expensive. Lunch / dinner for two 40-60 euros.
Transfer back to Moscow. Transaero also flew, for some reason the monitors in the headrests of the seats did not work on the plane, so after an hour from the moment of takeoff, the children did not know what to do with themselves, so they had fun in full.
P. S. I forgot to say the hotel does not accept children under 16 years old, and accordingly, the entire rest in this hotel is aimed at calm and relaxing relaxation, so I recommend this hotel only to couples in love who do not need a party.
