We took a family bungalow. Enough space for four people. Furniture in good condition. There is nothing broken or shabby. Furniture is the most common. There is everything you need. Bathrobes, slippers, bathroom cosmetics. Set for preparation of tea and coffee.
The territory is large. Broken into two parts. First and second line. They communicate with each other by an underground passage. There is a freeway there. The noise from it is almost inaudible if you do not listen. To the sea from the distant buildings on foot for about ten minutes, but if you don’t want to walk, then a train runs. Also as an additional entertainment for children.
There is a children's club with a large playground, there is a children's pool with slides. Playground. In the children's club, Russian-speaking girls are animators. But in general, there are not enough Russian-speaking animators in the hotel. Yes, and adult animation is generally standard. In the afternoons competitions in the evening shows. The hotel staff is always helpful, the animators are not intrusive.
The food is normal. There are no special frills, but there are plenty to choose from. There is a restaurant on the beach besides the main restaurant. From meat pork, lamb, and in the evening almost always shrimp and mussels. There is a children's table.
In general, the hotel can be said to be excellent value for money, definitely worth the money. The sea and the beach are just amazing!
I liked the hotel, a large area, several large pools, aqualand. but most of all I was surprised by the food, our child is 2 years old, and it was inconvenient to bring baby food with us. And at the hotel every day you could order an individual children's menu: mashed potatoes, cereals, juices. Everything was done on time, brought to the restaurant at the appointed time. And for the older child there was a separate children's restaurant, where he could eat every day from 11 am to 5 pm for free.
The hotel also has a chic children's animation, they took the children in the mini club in the morning, and took them only in the evening. Russian-speaking animators took the children to the beach and to a restaurant and a mini farm. The children were delighted.
The sea did not storm much, so we took a car and drove to the south coast, where the sea was calm, the guide drew us a suitable route and told us all the details.
We stayed for a total of 10 days and wanted to extend our stay.
Rotavirus infection was not observed (swimmed both in the pools and in the sea) We were satisfied with the rest.
Bottom line: Pilot Beach Resort is the perfect place to stay with kids!!! !
Settled very quickly. Room 4622 on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and the sea in the far (quiet) part of the hotel. The room is big, clean. On the spacious loggia there is a table with chairs - in the evening it is nice to sit with a bottle of local homemade wine (buy 1.5 Euro / 0.5l of homemade wine in Georgiopolis).
In this part of the hotel you can't hear the road (only cicadas). From our, almost the farthest point, it took no more than 5 minutes to walk to the beach through the tunnel. Absolutely not annoying!
The hotel is planned so that each part has its own pool (clean, but chlorinated). There is no crowding or lack of places either near the pools or on the beach (there are always places, although not on the first line). Do not fill the sunbeds with towels - believe me, there are always places !!!
The food is excellent! The food is always plentiful, varied and delicious. The waiters are as friendly as possible (do not forget to say hello... ) I recommend learning a couple of words in Greek (greeting, gratitude).
The hotel has a new SPA salon with a gym, playrooms for children. Do not be too lazy to go around the hotel - you will find mini-football, tennis, mini-zoo : )
We took trips through the FB + D system. For those who don't know - it's not All (all drinks and food outside of breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant - for a fee! ) The prices in the bar are exorbitant (take a walk to the village of Georgiopolis along the sea - everything is much cheaper there in stores). For example: beer in a bar 3.5 Euro / 0.5 l and in the village 0.9 Euro, wines are 2-3 times cheaper and there is more choice, olive oil is 2 times cheaper).
The beach is the best in Crete! Sandy gentle entrance to the sea. For children - "the most it. " The sea often storms - they hang out a red flag already at 3 points. The water is very clean, albeit cool. there is a mountain river nearby and many underground springs.
To summarize: The hotel really deserves its 5 *. If there were any nuances, they did not affect a great holiday!
The hotel is excellent!
From the pros:
1. A huge green area: everything is in flowers, in greenery. And at the same time, everything is very comfortable. The bungalow near the sea has a gorgeous view of the sea. The bungalow behind the passage has a magnificent view of the mountains! The hotel is fenced off from the rest of the territory by tall fir trees.
2. Good rooms with access to the pool or the sea.
3. Nutrition - no words! Huge selection of food for breakfast and dinner. For children from 11 to 17, a children's restaurant is constantly open, where children can have a bite to eat at any time. Huge selection of fruits! And most importantly, all dishes are available whenever they come (to the opening or closing of the restaurant). As soon as it ends - they immediately bring it again!
4. The beach is just HUGE! Wide, there are enough umbrellas for everyone. The entry into the sea is gentle and only SAND. There are no rocks or pebbles! It is the most for children.
5. No noise from the road is heard! The soundproofing in the bungalow is wonderful and even the crying of a neighbor's child is not heard behind the wall.
6. Two parts of the hotel are connected by a wide underground passage (with lighting). Everything is cultural and not annoying.
7. The staff is polite, unobtrusive. The reception has Russian-speaking staff - all problems are solved at once. In general, everyone in Greece speaks English very well.
8. Animation is wonderful. They work with children all day long. Evening shows for adults every day are new, themed.
Of the minuses:
All drinks in the hotel are overpriced. But the hotel has a shop, where everything is a little cheaper. And if you get out to a neighboring village - even cheaper.
