In the airoport. Who has electronic visas, you need to go to another queue will scan your fingerprints. At the exit, they are met by guys who are ready to take your luggage to the bus. These are not airport employees and they have nothing to do with the tour operator. Luggage is carried for a fee! I do not recommend changing currency at the airport. The rate is very low. Better to do it in Calangute. There are many exchange offices near the hotel. It is more profitable to change large bills. Course: 100 dollars changed to 6500 rupees, 100 euros - 7600 rupees. But I warn you that very often they try to deceive, but if you return, they will return it without any problems.
Hotel. The Tiklo Resort Hotel is a very good one of twos, so it's almost impossible to buy a last-minute tour here. Tiklo is immediately in a stop as soon as the price starts to fall. The first time we rested in this hotel at the end of the season in April, the second time - at the very beginning - from October 24 to November 4. We were immediately recognized and given a nice room opposite the reception, so the WF even worked in the bedroom. The attitude of the staff is very good, friendly. I'll give you an example right away. My friend went shopping in Panaji and left a well-paid shopping bag at the store. So, a nice guy (unfortunately, I didn’t remember his name) from the reception settled everything. He called this store first, and then asked his friend to go and pick it up, and it's completely free. No matter how she tried to thank him financially, he took nothing. So a huge request: if there are tourists from Barnaul who want to visit this hotel, then if possible I would like to give him a present!!!
Check-in from 12 noon. If there are vacant rooms, then without any surcharges they will settle immediately. We got on a holiday - like our New Year, so there were no ready-made rooms. We left our things and went to the beach.
Housekeeping on request, you must leave the key and tell the reception.
The bed linen is white. The food is excellent. For breakfast, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, masala, tea, butter, jam, toast, delicious flatbread, a couple of Indian dishes, tasty but spicy. They even gave us fruit. But this is just a deuce, but what a !!!!!!
I haven't heard of theft. Documents and valuables were kept in suitcases under lock and key. The rooms are large, have air conditioning, fan, balcony. We booked a room without air conditioning, a fan is enough.
Location. The hotel is very well located, close to many cafes, exchangers, fruit and fish market, bus stop and close to the beach. In the middle of everything!!!!
Beach. There are 2 roads. If you go from the hotel to the left and walk to the ring, and then to the right along the street past the retail outlets, you will exit to the main entrance to the beach. Lots of Indians. Noise, hum. Walk 5-7 minutes. We left the main entrance to the left opposite the football field, there is a red flag and there are no locals, so you can safely swim.
The second road from the hotel to the right, walk to the sign Dental Clinic, (our favorite Ayurvedic massage salon is also located there). You need to turn left and go along the path to the sea. We pass by a trade tent where you can buy inexpensive good things and T-shirts as a gift home. A pleasant young Indian trades with her mother, who speaks good Russian. She makes nice gifts. Her tent is on the left, and on the right is Shake Beach Queen. This shake is advertised on the Internet, only Russians stop there. We did not really like its location, as it is far from the sea, although there is a path. In the necks, sun loungers are free, you just need to buy a bottle of water there for 20 rubles, juice for 100 rupees. or beer for 90-100. We stayed at Neck Love. It is on the right, towards Baga.
Nutrition. I recommend to have dinner at the restaurant in Tiklo. Just super! Delicious tomato soup, onion soup, French soup, spinach soup, tandoori dishes, and everything else on the menu.
Themed evenings are held, there is karaoke, local singers and magicians perform. Tourists, many foreigners, gather from the nearest hotels, so it is better to book a table in advance. The average check with alcohol is 500 rupees.
There is also a fruit market nearby. Pineapples for 50-70 rupees. a piece. You can also bargain. Mango out of season 100-180 rupees/kg, Passion fruit 250 rupees.
Pastime. We did not go on excursions, so I can not write anything.
Buses. We traveled everywhere by public transport. Bus stop from the ring in the opposite direction from the central beach. But you can sit anywhere. You need to wave your hand when you see the bus and ask - in Panaji or Mapusa ???
Mapusa. From Calangute you need to go to Mapusa (the final stop at the bus station), and from there you can already get to all the beaches of northern Goa. The cost of the trip Calangute - Mapusa - 15 rupees, Mapusa - Anjuna - 15 rupees, Mapusa - Vagator 15 rupees. The beach in Anjuna is best visited on Wednesday, as there is a day market where you can buy inexpensive useful things. Spices and tea are best bought in Mapusa. There is a municipal tea shop there, the quality is excellent. I liked rose tea the most. This time I just bought it. If anyone is interested, I will write how to find this store.
Panaji. In Panaji, you can visit the temples on your own. There is also a street with branded stores (Adidas, etc. ). The prices are almost the same as ours, but there are sales. It is better to take a bus to the BETIM stop. This is the place where you need to transfer to a free ferry across the river. Drive 20-30 minutes. The main thing is to constantly tell the conductor or local BETTIMS so as not to pass. After getting off the bus, cross the road and walk to the pier. There is a free ferry there to save time, do not go around the bridge, in traffic jams. As soon as you get off the ferry in Panaji, go left along the street for about 50 meters. On the right, across the road, you will pass a blue-blue house and past it deep into. You will immediately see a shopping street with branded stores. The trip will cost you 30 rupees in both directions, by taxi 300-600. A one-way bus ticket is 15 rupees to the Bettin stop, to Panaji 20. But usually the conductor doesn’t give change, so it’s better to give exactly))))
Right there on the river there is a casino on the ship. It was said that the cost of visiting the casino is about 2000 rupees, this includes a buffet, alcohol and drinks and a minimum bet in the casino. You can visit such a place instead of a tour.
Club. We went to their famous Kabana club, but by taxi, 400-600 rupees. On Wednesdays, girls are free, so some overdo it with alcoholic cocktails. The club is located on a mountain, they go up there in an open jeep, the impressions are amazing. A beautiful view of the city opens from the mountain.
About Ayurveda. Opposite the hotel there is a super store: toothpaste 35 rubles, brushes -10-25 rubles, shampoos - 70 rubles, oils, tablets, anti-aging creams, etc. , all natural and cheap. I recommend.
Massage. There are many massage parlors in Calangute. Before finding ours, we experimented a lot. As a result, we stopped there. The owner is a doctor with a medical background, practices yoga. My foot hurt for almost two years, our doctors could not do anything, they prescribed only insoles and special shoes. But after 10 sessions everything was gone. Here's how not to believe after that in medical Ayurveda?!! ! I watched one woman try to persuade the doctor to give her a two-hour massage, but he convinced her on the first day not to do it. Another would take the money and... - any whim for your money. I did a 60 min full body massage and a 30 min facial rejuvenation program (scrub, mask and massage). The effect is just great!
The energy of GOA is so amazing that all the shortcomings just fade into the background. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and the atmosphere of Goa. India is a complete relaxation, there is a special unique atmosphere. We fell in love with her forever! And, if you are lovers of free rest, then you are here. Well, lovers of comfort - you will find more expensive hotels in the south of Goa. And we would rather spend the money that people overpay for comfort on delicious food, fruits, seafood, massages and entertainment. We are happy to do this. More positive, less negative, and your vacation will be a hit!

Hello! In Goa for the second time in three years, so there is something to compare. Last time we went to a 3+ hotel, but "lasted" there only a couple of days, then together with my wife we went from the hotel to the hotel to look for something better and for $ 30 a day we found a very decent option in Calangute. The same time, when my wife found out that we were going to the 2-ku, she was shocked and I reassured her only by the fact that, as a last resort, we would again move to our "backup" last year's option, but... everything was a success!!!
So, in order.
We flew from Kyiv "Fly Dubai" with a transfer in Dubai: 5h. 20 min. to Dubai, about two hours waiting at the airport, and 3 hours 20 minutes. to Goa. The planes are new, takeoff and landing like clockwork, without delays and hitches. Monitors are mounted in the backs of the seats, for $11 you can buy a premium package and watch films in Russian. . . Food and drinks on board, however, are paid, so you can stock up on your own boutiques. Yes, and a bonus back: both flights were half empty, so anyone who wanted to could comfortably sit on three chairs and see peaceful dreams. . .
The hotel itself was at 7 am, the settlement is the same as everywhere else, after 14.00. He offered 30 bucks to the reception for speeding up the process, but the Indian was impregnable: there were no places, the rooms were being cleaned. We left things under supervision and went with my wife to drink coffee with buns. We returned at about half past nine, and were pleasantly surprised: your room is ready, here is the escort, bring your things (without any additional payments).
The room was on the fifth floor, in the central building (there are two more buildings in the garden). Living room with TV, minibar, fan, easy chairs and a balcony overlooking the pool, and a bedroom with modern air conditioning, a bed with excellent mattresses and clean linens (those who have been to India before will understand what I mean) overlooking the garden . By the way, the linen was changed and cleaning was done on request without any problems, in our case, every three days.
Separately, I would like to mention the breakfasts. For India, the standard is tea with two toasts and jam. Here every morning scrambled eggs, Indian porridges and flatbreads. Coffee, tea, toast with butter, honey or jam in unlimited quantities, which was also a pleasant surprise.
The hotel itself has a very good restaurant, where you can choose from everything from lobsters and sharks to traditional Goan and Indian dishes.
In general, we really liked the hotel. By the way, for 10 days of rest, I was filled with a mini-bar three times with beer, water and various drinks, as a result, when I left, I paid about $ 30 for everything.
We will definitely return to Goa again, and if there is such an opportunity, then only to Tiklo.
As for the rest itself, like last time, the sea and beaches are impeccable. The only thing that sometimes strained was the situation with the exchange of money. Upon arrival, the rate was 61 rupees per dollar, after a couple of days it jumped to 65. But if you change banknotes less than 100, get ready that the rate will be "offered" to you at the level of 55 rupees per dollar. At the same time, rupees are given only in large denominations, 2000 or 1000 each, and due to the fact that a monetary reform is taking place in India, and old banknotes are being withdrawn from circulation, you may often not be able to find change in cafes or bazaars, so in advance ask for at least 100 - 500 rupees when exchanging banknotes. But these are all trifles, have a nice rest!! !

I rested in Tiklo for 10 days, the hotel is normal with its pluses and minuses, it is located in the center of Calangute, it is convenient, it has its own parking, there are no breakfasts, and why are they given there at all? For breakfast, you can order right there in the restaurant, as well as for lunch and dinner, outside the gate, a bunch of restaurants for every taste and budget.

For breakfast, you can order right there in the restaurant, as well as for lunch and dinner, outside the gate, a bunch of restaurants for every taste and budget. everything is nearby - moped rental. fruit market, 2 minutes to the beach on a moped, I must say right away that there is nothing to do in Goa without a moped or motorcycle! You can undress in a taxi or tuk-tuk! Hindus are like children! But they will tell you for an adult, Bargain everywhere, But good, like everywhere else, costs well, I exchanged 100 dollars and felt like a rajah for 7 days, The country, of course, just under our mentality, everything is possible! Police - if you see that they slow down with a hand or a whistle and just stand on the road, feel free to drive by - with a frostbitten face, if you are stopped by shields, or caught up - it's okay - give them 200 rupees - smiling broadly, but don't give the key - they will pick up the bike and scout to the fullest! And do not be afraid to take bikes and motorcycles! The movement is terrifying, but it has its own order, the main thing is: Do not drive, do not throw gas, and do not pull over to the side of the road at speed, you must drive quickly, sharply and brazenly, I fell only 5 times in 20 days! I didn’t take excursions, I traveled everything myself, on a bike, The food is spicy, but it will go under rum and local moonshine! . . Eat fruit and ride a bike, drink rum and eat shrimp, dance at discos and just in a hotel, swim naked at night, relax and rest, a hotel in Goa is absolutely not important! this is the place where your suitcase is stored. In North Goa, active rest, if you are used to Egypt and Turkey, you will get fucked up here. . . Hashish - you can buy on the beach from lifeguards, or from blacks, or in the evening on a bag, in any cafe on the beach it is - the price is from 1000 rupees ($ 16) Will I go here again! Of course I will go again and again! And you can take a cheaper hotel - they are all the same!

The hotel is super! Rested in early February 2009 Cleaning every day, in the room (double): kitchen-living room (3 armchairs, TV set, refrigerator-minibar, full-wall kitchen table with built-in sink, ceiling 5-speed fan), bedroom (2 beds, large a mirror-bedside table, a powerful conder, a fan), the bathroom is combined, everything is tiled.

There is a balcony (there are chairs) there are no complaints at all !! ! Mostly British and Indians from other states have a rest. There are no animators, and thank God), they are not needed in Goa. Mostly couples rest, it is almost always not a problem to find a sunbed by the pool. But the most important plus is that food and drinks in the minibar are cheaper than in all the cafes where we were (well, if only freshly squeezed juices in the juice center are cheaper and tastier)!!! ! We were very surprised), in the end we only ate there (and very tasty too). We are all 20 years old, we rarely hung out at the hotel, if it would be boring to go and spend all the time in the hotel, but I don’t know, I didn’t try (=. Yes, DO NOT BUY EXCURSIONS FROM TRAVEL AGENCIES!! ! 5-10 cheaper (as you bargain, of course) In general. . . If I go to Goa again through a travel agency, I will only go to this hotel!! ! Because the price / quality ratio is one of the best in Goa !! ! (I saw hotels 3 * full) RENT A SCOOTER - YOU WON'T REGRET. I don’t have a license, I didn’t have any driving experience at all, there are no traffic rules in India, as a result, after 10 minutes I got used to it and didn’t part with the scooter at all until the last day. In general, good luck who rides, shanti-shanti and all that)

The hotel is like a hotel. There was no TV in the room, but we didn't come to watch it either. The kitchen is better than in all nearby hotels. They came to us specially for dinner, because. in the neighboring places it was not possible to eat. What difference does it make where you sleep. The staff is polite.

And most importantly there is a bike. My husband and I traveled all over the state, despite the fact that I was pregnant. Special thanks to the taxi driver Lowy (worked in front of our hotel). Conducted tours for ridiculous money.
