The hotel has its own large area where you can walk freely (including golf courses). The beach is small, the entrance is gentle, the depth is great. The pool is small, which is very disturbing when the locals come to rest (every weekend). The hotel is mostly Germans and Poles aged 60+. English speaking staff.

A great place for a quiet and relaxing holiday. No animators and music in the evenings.
The kitchen is pleasant, on a solid 4. There are no frills, but you definitely won’t stay hungry either.
It is better to take rooms on the 3rd floor, so at least there will be a beautiful view. We had sooooo windy and we weren't prepared for it.

El Gouna is located 30 km from Hurghada Airport. Not towards Hurghada. Lagoons can be seen from the plane when approaching. In El Gouna from your flight there will be a very small number of people 1-2 families, therefore you will not be taken on a big bus around Hurghada and you do not have to wait in line until the bus reaches your hotel.

Usually meets a minibus, which immediately takes you to the hotel.
We were seated right away even though we arrived at 9am.
Large, well-maintained, beautiful room has a safe, mini bar, wired internet (did not try).
The area is very clean, stylish, not big.
Food for 9 out of 10, not 10 because there is no pork -: )
Breakfast and dinner buffet, lunch on the menu (lunch is included in the all-inclusive system) just 50% of Germans, and this is 90% of vacationers, rest on the HB system
Some kind of tricky system works throughout El Gouna - dinner can be ordered at any other hotel (again, if you rest on an all-inclusive system). I recommend Moven Peak and the Thai restaurant in it.
Steigenberger also has an excellent traditional German restaurant in the Steigenberger Tower.
Bars at the reception and by the pool are working without fail. Good quality snacks and alcohol. There are many delicious non-alcoholic cocktails. There are always freshly squeezed juices.
In general, you will be 100% satisfied with the food!
The pool at the hotel is not big, probably heated, the water in it is warmer than in the lagoon. The lagoon is wide, the beach is equipped. We always swam in the lagoon and a couple of times in the pool. We didn't go to the beach to swim. The beach can be reached by a free boat, departs regularly from the hotel. Take a boat to the beach for about 10 minutes. But the beach is boring, the pantone is long, the coral is dead - I don’t see the point.
In the lagoon, pedicure fish live in the water (I forgot what they are called correctly), if you stand still for 1-2 minutes, they swim up and start "their own business" - cool. The water in the lagoon is clean, but only the beach is equipped for swimming, in other places no one swims.
There is no animation in the hotel at all, but it completely suited me, I was tired at work, I wanted to relax. Again, if you want evening entertainment, you can easily find it in another hotel or in a down town or marina (these are the areas of El Gouna where cafes and shops are concentrated) You can get to them by shuttle or tuk tuk, go regularly or you can call on reception, the price of the issue is 1 dollar from point to point.
Marina impressed with the yachts parked in the bay - super.
At 20:00 - 21:00 the hotel "dies" - not a soul and silence on the territory.
Summary: the hotel is of a very high level of service, there are almost no Russian tourists, if you want to relax - an excellent choice, have fun - you are not here, better is Sheraton or Moven Peak. But the very fact of choosing El Gouna as a place of rest is not in doubt.

I must admit that before this trip, over a five-year vacation in Egypt, I had the opinion that even in 5 * service staff do not always understand the culture of customer relations and they don’t know how to cook European food in Egypt - and I put up with this, because the sea compensated for everything. This hotel has demonstrated the opposite: 1) service staff perfectly understands the culture of relationships with customers, they are quite proactive, polite and respectful of all requests; 2) Food, I'm sure, will please any gourmet, because for 10 days of rest, not a single dish was repeated on the menu and there was always an abundance of food; 3) No bracelets, cards, etc.

This hotel has demonstrated the opposite:
1) service staff perfectly understands the culture of relationships with customers, they are quite proactive, polite and respectful of all requests;
2) Food, I'm sure, will please any gourmet, because for 10 days of rest, not a single dish was repeated on the menu and there was always an abundance of food;
3) No bracelets, cards, etc. As soon as you go to the beach, they will come to you and bring towels, move the sunbed to the right place and wish you a good day;
4) Souvenir sellers in the hotel, "tattooers" and others do not rush after you, offering their services day after day.
In general, I realized that the hotel was worth the money. And those who wrote that this hotel is not for a noisy holiday are right, you will not find animation here, but mini-concerts will entertain you during and after dinner.
It all depends on what is important to you during your vacation.
If someone is interested in the details, I'm ready to share.
