We have already rested on other Maldivian islands and formed an opinion for ourselves that we like large island hotels (such as Bandos, Kuramati, Riiti Beach) less: we don’t feel the spirit of the Maldives, there is no feeling of being on a small island in the middle of the ocean, less unity with nature. We went to the Palm Beach hotel, which is comparable in size to the above, to go diving. I did not want to undergo training in confined water in Moscow with its traffic jams, and then open water somewhere on vacation (as planned at the beginning). And here any diving courses plus dives were free. True, free of charge was subject to accommodation in the Club Diving Room.
Booked through the Moscow tour operator Bestprice Tour and paid for 12 nights with a seaplane transfer about 3.5 thousand dollars. After completing the OWD course, we did 5 more dives and completed the Enriched Air Diver course (for diving with enriched air).

Based on the fact that diving (our goal) was free only when staying in a certain category of rooms, we resigned ourselves to the possible future wretchedness of the room in advance. All the more was the surprise. It was certainly not a luxurious villa, but a very comfortable house, with quite good furniture, a well-functioning air conditioner, a spacious bathroom and a huge dressing room. There was a diving center 10 meters from us, which was very convenient given our recreation program.
Diving center. Our training was conducted by a Russian-speaking instructor - Druvis (from Riga); explained everything simply and clearly. Many thanks! Also hello and thanks to his colleague, Olacio (from Italy). We dived mainly near the island, and only on the penultimate day we went far, where we really liked it. The dive went along the wall with numerous caves, in which, however, they caught only once a sleeping turtle, but what a turtle! I didn’t think that turtles under 2 m live in the Maldives! They also saw a huge Napoleon, which circled nearby, but did not allow to approach. Strange, but never saw sharks.
Island. Very well arranged and furnished. A magnificent beach surrounds the entire island. The island itself is evenly forested. It seems that there is a shadow everywhere, but at the same time the whole island is blown through, there is no languishing stuffiness even in its center, which is usually characteristic of large islands. You can see the sea from almost anywhere. Lots of flowers, especially orchids, less plumeria, floral fragrance everywhere in the air. All villas are located at a sufficient distance from each other to ensure privacy.
Nutrition. Five plus. We have never seen such delicious and varied food on vacation. At the same time, I note that we are not sweet-toothed, like some who often evaluate the quality of food by desserts. Lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, and breakfast in the coffee shop. And breakfast from 7.30 to 12.00! Here is the expanse for those who like to sleep)
Entertainment. Not standard for the Maldives. No crab racing or bingo, live music every evening and then, already around 11 pm, some main event of the evening: a table tennis tournament, a football match between guests and staff, a disco with an animator, etc. Due to early rises for diving we missed most of it, but what we saw we liked. Italians know how to relax!
