We arrived in the morning, around 10.30 we were already brought to the hotel, but we were only settled at 14.00, we had to leave our suitcases in the lobby and go for a walk around the territory. We waited until they put on our bracelets and then went to dinner. Upon checking in, the front desk asked for a good room. We were given a room in the main building on the 2nd floor. The room is so-so, the only + was a piece of the sea. Cleaning. Cleaning is pretty good. People, don't be greedy, leave a tip. They cleaned us well and made us such beautiful figures with towels, and we only left $ 1.
The beach is super, the sand (for this we love Hurghada) The hotel area is large, beautiful and well-groomed. The pools are excellent, the sea is very close, the beach is nice and big. , Animation, free beds, clean towels. We swam and admired the fish and corals. Every day was some kind of theme day, then Mexican food, then Egyptian, then some other. Of course, often the dishes were similar to one another, but in general, very, very good. I heard how some complained, "they say, there is no diversity, but in Turkey, but somewhere else. " For me, the food is excellent. And the fact that it looks like one another, so excuse me, if you serve 20 dishes every day, like it or not, but something will be similar.

The territory of the hotel itself is gorgeous, there are a lot of places for walking, every evening we chose a new direction. In general, the impression is good, little attention was not paid much attention to minor flaws
We flew in from Natalie Tours and on the bus the guide told us that Almas was undergoing a complete renovation (it was a blatant deception), so the Golden 5 City complex kindly provides you with another Golden 5 Emerald hotel without our for that consent, the bus immediately drove up to this very “Emerald”. Yep, right now! Run away! As a result, in the budget high-rise building "Emerald" one single person got out - this is the same guide)), and we, 20 tourists with Almaz vouchers, remained on the bus. The guide began numerous phone calls with emotional gestures, then he generally disappeared from our field of vision for a long time, but in the end he was back on the bus and we were brought to Almaz. We got off the bus, and the guide with the driver, without solving our problems with resettlement, quickly and brazenly left home.

It’s night, we are tired after a long flight, there are no free rooms, they categorically refuse to put on bracelets, we, with our things and small children, ended up on the street in the full sense, and, I want to note, our rooms have been conscientiously paid for since 14 o’clock, so to speak, already 9 hours at “our complete disposal”))) and all that they offer us at the reception is to walk (! ) at night to accompany us to Emerald, and this is neither more nor less than 1.5 km along the beach from one end to the other (exact The distance is indicated on the hotel website, I did not measure it)))
But before the flight, having read the reviews on various sites, we clearly came to the conclusion that out of the entire Golden 5 City complex, it is worth staying only in Almaz and nowhere else. Firstly, this is the closest to the sea of the 7 hotels of the complex, and it is precisely to the coral beach, and not in the area of the pier, like the same Emerald, and secondly, in the heat you don’t want to go far to the restaurant, namely the diamond restaurant is the closest to the beach, but, unlike all other restaurants, where the entrance is open to all guests of the complex, it accepts only those living in Almaz itself, as evidenced by a large sign at the entrance to the restaurant and there is always a vigilant guard)), thirdly, all active life, animation, shows and so on boils on the territory of Almaz, as well as the maximum proximity to the water park with a snack bar and other pluses.
In short, if we didn’t care which hotel to stay in, then we would buy Fortuna-5, which costs much less. As a result, we did not start a rout and scandal at the Almaz reception desk, but simply asked to call their immediate superiors, after 10 minutes a tall man came without a license plate and introduced himself as Sales, we explained the situation and he immediately began to settle it, as a result we were given Almaz's yellow bracelets, asked to spend one night not in Emeralda (where we categorically refused to go), but in the nearest Diamond bungalow (No. 2512 - 2nd floor) and the next day they moved to Almaz's bungalow (No. no extra charge standard 2 + 1 for 2-room 70-meter room with a view of the sea and the water park! Thus, we accepted the apology from the hotel and we spent the rest of the rest perfectly.
None of our family has ever been poisoned in a restaurant, but, however, we never eat "sliced vegetables" and do not take fruits in syrup, only the whole thing, we also do not eat soy sausages and goulash, i. e. we treat food very selectively, but we had enough of everything, we were never hungry. I liked couscous, rice, potatoes baked in foil, deep-fried eggplant, they cook pancakes well, chicken, fish, lamb are cooked well, there were often crabs for dinner, there are not many pastries, but we have 3-4 types of delicious desserts for ourselves found, but drinks - only powder! All juices are paid. There was no variety of fruits yet! Sometimes there were not enough clean plates, a line of dissatisfied people immediately accumulated, which was very unpleasant, but we mostly came to the restaurant before closing, and at that time these problems were not observed, and there were much fewer people.
About towels and post. linen (I read a lot of bad reviews), and so, the beach towels are already all new, large and dense, but the towels in the room, apparently, not everything has been replaced, since it wasn’t necessary at one time, they brought pure white, then washed gray ( (, the same goes for linen - the sheets and pillowcases were all new, but sometimes there were problems with duvet covers. Cleaned daily, change of linen every other day, but bring your own shampoos and gels - they are present in the rooms, but obviously not new Most likely, the remains from the former tenants, half-filled, and also very liquid, as if diluted with water - we immediately threw it all away, disdained to use it.
An even bigger problem there is mosquitoes - small, but very squeaky, we were saved by the fumigators brought (thanks to the reviews we read) with us, otherwise it is impossible to sleep in the morning.
At the expense of sun loungers on the beach - there are two types of them: solid wooden ones with mattresses and plastic ones with a stretched mesh. Sunbeds on the beach are clearly not enough for 7 hotels! There are really few of them! Yes, I also don’t support the collective farm habit of some of our compatriots in a crowd to take a lot of sunbeds, cling to each torn pareo, and then not come for a long time, well, yes, people’s plans change, especially after hearty meals and it’s extremely unpleasant to watch when there are empty sunbeds with scraps of pareo, and under them people lie on towels on the sand! Real disgusting, but, objectively, there are still few sunbeds! Lacks! Since there are hours when all the sunbeds are occupied, but a large number of people are without sunbeds. The sand is, of course, good, the sunbeds are undoubtedly more comfortable. This is a clear and big minus of the hotel. And, by the way, it is this lack of sunbeds that forces people to take them for the future, so the root cause is a real shortage of sunbeds, and as a result, the people are forced to "stake" them.
The territory is large, the gardeners work well, all the plants are trimmed and well-groomed, but the repair of curbs and paths is already urgently needed! Otherwise, all this resembles the remnants of former luxury and clearly shows that all this splendor is falling into decay.
The contingent of the hotel is mostly Russians and Ukrainians, there are Poles, Germans and a couple of times on the beach I heard French and Italian speech, oh yes, we also had a very noisy and unforgettable group of “well-tanned” people from Cameroon, they always kept together and created as much noise as the rest of the beach))), it's good that they kept together and did not spread all over the beach, we just chose a place for ourselves away from them, and solved this problem. Because having once observed their "folk fun" taking off each other's swimming trunks in the water, and all this was with unreal whooping and whistling, especially fell from this fun to two women of their delegation, we decided that this was not the best example for children and parted with them in different sides))
As a whole, we were satisfied with the rest at the hotel, we are going to return, but only to Almaz, and not to other hotels in the complex, two of which (Sapphire and Topaz) are generally located outside the common territory of the complex through a busy city road.

We liked it, there were no shortcomings.

I chose the hotel because it is closer to the sea and the lagoon. But it turned out that you can’t swim in the lagoon, and you need to go around the sea for about 10 minutes building, bridges and stalls.
Settled for $ 10 in a room with a view of the construction site. We wanted to change the room, but the 5 other rooms that we were offered were even worse. We are not picky, but a room with a view of the construction site, a broken shower, carpet and bedspread in large spots of greenery, curtains in dirty spots and drips, dirty bedding, ants in the room, instead of 1 large bed - 2 small ones (we are newlyweds - honey type month). Every morning began with the rumble of a construction site, the noise of diesel bus engines. I never managed to sleep. We were offered to change the room for a surcharge of $ 10 per day ($ 120 for the rest) - and this is an additional fee for the type of room that was already indicated in our voucher.
99% of vacationers are Russians. You feel like in a boarding house in the Crimea. EVERYTHING IS SHARPENED UNDER RUSSIAN. Russian music in all bars, discos. It seems that you are in a cheap Russian tavern, and not in a bar in Egypt. FULL "TAGYEE" If you are not from Russia, do not go there!!!
From all 5 hotels, people go to 1 beach - there are not enough sunbeds. Russians get up at 6 in the morning, they tie up two sunbeds with handkerchiefs, or they throw a book at them - like it's busy and it's "busy" all day. And they go somewhere. Lots of sun loungers were broken, beach towels were dirty.
The queues for drinks at the pool and beach are huge. Pour half a 150-gram cup. And if not enough, again stand at the end of the line. Everywhere everything is old and broken, battered, there is nothing to see without disappointment.
The territory is large, but this is rather a minus. In the evening, plants from the sewer are fertilized. If you walk around the territory and do not cover your nose with a handkerchief, then such a stench can make you sick.
The food was not bad, but there were cockroaches in the dining room.
Saved rest only excursions.
For the money that we gave, we could rest 100 times better. Hotels 3 * were 2 times cheaper and better!
