About Rovaniemi: a wonderful cozy town) with a pleasant, mild winter climate... I didn’t feel frost at all... but only fresh air))) decently expensive in terms of shopping and food (wonderful memorable excursions to Santa, to deer, to dogs (but I repeat, everything is decently expensive, but we did not regret)!
About the hotel: the room is not so hot, old furniture, a shabby bathroom, it’s so very dirty for me!... and the hole under the drain under the sink generally killed... I had to stretch my children’s socks... so the foam from the soap all surfaced from this drain and filled almost the entire floor in the bathroom . . in short, something with something!
And keep in mind that the signs "CLEAN MY ROOM" in this hotel do not exist!! ! And the sign "DO NOT DISTURB" and on the reverse side of which dog paws are drawn - means not cleaning the room, but the fact that there is an evil animal in the room, do not enter !! ! And we hung it for 2 days and did not understand why it was not cleaned in the room ???
The food is disgusting!! ! Breakfasts and dinners are just awful (the same thing every day and not tasty (. . . all from some kind of semi-finished products (! )... there is nothing for children, EXCEPT: french fries, sausages and burnt pizza ((((( And even for the new year for the children it was the same!! ! In short, we were shocked! Although they cook very tasty according to the map!! ! But it’s not cheap either! Of the porridges for breakfast, there was only tasteless rice porridge all the time (((
The only plus is the free sauna (albeit a very small one... there are separate men's and women's... a joint one seems to need to be ordered separately and for money)... and a decent enough pool!
The tour operator LABYRINTH is a quiet horror... they don’t know anything . . they don’t understand anything, they pretend that they are insanely tired (((
It was sad and sorry for the money paid (
Ta-dam - New Year's dinner: PROMISED: a glass of champagne, seating on a table with names, beauty and harmony . . ) IN THE RESULTS: they let everyone in a crowd (naturally, whoever was the first and managed to grab all the most delicious, no longer replenished! ). . . no champagne, instead (as they promised) that Santa would hand out gifts to the children, walking between the tables... they gathered the poor kids in a heap and shouted out names . . the poor children were tired of waiting for their turn . . many ran and cried that Santa was theirs forgot (just couldn't wait for their name).... all in all the most memorable of the celebrations was a REALLY AWESOME MEMORABLE FIREWORKS! )))
Therefore, to the maximum, we extracted positive emotions from excursions and walks around the city)))))))
We visited Nili's restaurant. . . we got into it the second time. . . we watched in the morning. . . ))) The restaurant is small, so it's always full. Expensive, tasty, but not enough)))
We also visited the Amarillo Mexican Restaurant, it is located not far from the hotel, they cook very tasty and quite spicy)
We wanted to go to a beer restaurant, but they didn’t let us in with a child (((
I advise you to buy souvenirs in the village of Santa Claus, it’s a little cheaper there... also, if you like something in Santa Park, take it, because you won’t find these anywhere else (I didn’t buy a cool puzzle for my child . . then I regretted (
We went to the village of Santa Claus 2 times, one for a free tour (the guide forgot us there, told us at the wrong time, caught the second bus and asked us to take it) and the second time we went on the bus ourselves . . stop right next to the hotel)
If you do not take into account the food at the hotel, the organization of the "New Year's dinner" (which, in fact, did not exist, and people were simply let into the restaurant for a regular, slightly more varied buffet and without a glass of champagne !!!!!!! ), then the rest is very turned out))))))
Beautiful view from the window, the hotel is located right on the banks of the Kemijoki River. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable. True, we lived in the second building, we had to go down to the ground floor and go along a beautiful bright corridor (under the road) to another building.
Breakfast is good, great choice.
The staff is friendly.
And, of course, the most important thing. . . Santa Claus is very close)))
