Good day! Rested with his wife together (late November - early December 2013). Were in Costa Adeje (South, but not Las Americas, the difference was significant at least for us, I will explain later why). Were for the first time.
Hotel: The hotel of the German system RIU was called (I can make a mistake in spelling) AREKAS, 4 stars. Accordingly, the hotel is 80% Germans, several Russian couples. The hotel is next to their own five RIU (I don’t remember the name), you can use the infrastructure of both hotels (sauna, swimming pools, etc. ). The hotel is not new, but decent, maintained in good condition, the rooms are clean (although we lived in one, we did not move). Animals in the form of ants and cockroaches were not seen. Cleaning every day, linen changed 1 or 2 times. Everything is clean and tidy everywhere - German order. They don’t speak Russian at the reception, but they try very hard to understand, in general, in broken English and gestures - there were no problems. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The pools in both hotels are not big, to be honest, they never swam in them, they only went to swim in the ocean. Territories near the hotels are also not very large, but clean and well-groomed. The hotel was a little (breakfast, dinner and slept), walked all the time, walked, went on excursions.
The food was at a good level, there was meat, there were seafood (but not very much), cheeses, fruits, desserts, pastries and ice cream, everything is there, everything is edible (not to say that everything is amazingly tasty, but decently, rationally, everything is pedantic in German) , a couple of times gave champagne. For breakfast, disgusting coffee and tea, but they say this everywhere they have such a problem (they never drank good tea and coffee there). We took breakfast and dinner, next time we will be smarter - we will take only breakfast. There are a lot of cafes on the streets, the menu is in Russian everywhere, it’s not a problem to eat, they cook for every taste and every budget....if you go somewhere far away, it is not very convenient - you have to return to the hotel for dinner. If you have lunch in the afternoon, then you don’t want to have dinner in the evening, in general, it’s like anyone, but next time we’ll go either with breakfast or without a boarding house at all. Nearby was the fishing village of La Caletta, there are many small restaurants where they bring freshly caught fish for dinner, they were going to go there for lunch several times, but it didn’t work out (very sorry, we hope next time... ), in other places, although they say that the fish is fresh, but he himself saw the same fish in the window for several days in a row - they are cunning, a lot of seafood is generally imported (they simply are not found there), but they are passed off as freshly caught.

Weather: we suffered for a long time and read reviews, whether we are lucky or not with the weather, whether we will be able to swim in the ocean or not, whether it will rain or it will blow over...... It was everything: one day from 9 am to 6 pm it rained without stopping, in the afternoon from about 14 to On the 15th a hurricane passed. We have never seen such an element in our lives. Cast-iron hatches were knocked out from the wells with water, water flows everywhere, rivers along the streets, etc. All in all, it's a must see and experience. The next day - the sun is 26 degrees, wonderful weather! We were mostly lucky with the weather, there were no more rains. Temperature 24-26, very comfortable, not cold, not hot, not sweating, you can safely walk everywhere. It was hot for a couple of days, it felt like 30 degrees. The last day of our stay there was a very strong wind, not to say that it was cold (20-21 degrees), but the wind was very strong and the waves were strong - we did not swim. They tanned normally, not to say that it was strong, but noticeable - like we have in the summer.....
Swimming: We swam almost every day (except on a rainy day). The water is invigorating, it’s cool to enter at first, but when you enter, you swim quite calmly, the temperature does not bother you, it’s very comfortable. At first we walked along the surf along the beach, we were doused with water, gradually got used to it and went in quite calmly. There are no changing rooms and toilets on the beaches - at all, at best, one shower for the entire beach! With what it is connected, we did not understand. Toilets are free everywhere. All of this made me a little uncomfortable. One day in the morning there was a storm, the sun came out in the afternoon, the ocean calmed down and we swam...... We didn’t lie on the beach, we didn’t sunbathe on purpose, only when we walked along the beach along the surf - that was quite enough.
Summing up the weather and water - our summer (in the middle lane) is 24 on the street, the water is about 20 (it feels like I didn’t measure it), in general we swim at home and it’s not a problem there. Very comfortable climate, no dust,
Spending time: we constantly walked everywhere (along the promenade, along the streets, along the beaches), rode buses, took excursions. They did not take the car, they decided to leave this idea for the next time. I promised to tell you why Costa Adeje is not Las Americas - in Las Americas, more intense and hectic life, much more people (crowds), plus blacks scurrying everywhere, selling you something, dirtier, worse beaches, denser buildings, less nature - in Costa Adeje, all this is not there, a calm measured life, walks along the promenade, a respectable audience, there are no blacks. Excursions were taken to the Teide volcano, Maska Valley and a catamaran on the ocean. We liked everything, we want to go to Teide again, but with a funicular. The remaining excursions and a visit to the capital were left for the next trip. Shopping - there is a choice, everyone needs what they need, the prices are reasonable, even lower than ours (for some goods), cheap alcohol (liqueurs are rubbish), good shoes (but not cheap), I could not find a store with classic suits for men ( maybe they don't wear them.... ). It should be noted a fly in the ointment - our airline (I will not name), the weight of luggage is only 10 kg per person (plus 5 kg of hand luggage - they are also weighed)! We arrived, we had a suitcase for two of 18 kg, so you yourself understand that either bringing from there is a problem or you have to go light (by the way, they feed on the plane - lousy).....

Summary: We will definitely go again (most likely not alone), we really liked the climate, the place, nature, relaxation, the ocean..... In general, I liked everything there, I recommend it to everyone!
