The seventh day of the tour "Two poles of passion". Ocean.
Road to the ocean.
I would like to immediately begin to describe the fabulous San Sebastian. But there is still a road left in my memory, and I will start with it.
Probably after what I write, I will be criticized for the lack of loyalty, well, I will not praise everything. Yesterday's check-in was again later, after 23.00. The hotel is in the center of Bordeaux, but I don’t feel like going anywhere, although the people from our group went out for a walk.
Breakfast. At 8:03 a. m. the bus pulled out of the parking lot.
At 8.45 we are still driving through Bordeaux. The bus crawls slowly and unsteadily through the narrow streets, one feels how hard it is to cope with it. How hesitantly he fits into narrow turns, how difficult, with a bunch of maneuvers, swinging back and forth at intersections, he overcomes the streets. Even on the autobahn, our bus did not rush forward, but quietly rolled. Understand correctly, I'm not saying that the drivers are bad. I have to travel a lot and I love the road. I don’t know what really happened - maybe the bus couldn’t go faster. Maybe it was the fact that our drivers were on this route for the first time, maybe it was the first time on a route of such length... there are a lot of details and what was the reason - it doesn’t matter, I describe what happened in the end. The quality of the bus and the qualifications of the drivers are on the conscience of the TO and there is nothing to add.
At the end of the journey, one of our companions made a final speech with the phrase:... “We thank our drivers for taking us safe and sound”... and everyone clapped, sincerely. Thank you for this. And it was said without any hint.
By the way, drivers know how to drive fast. On the last day, we flew to the border and from the border to Lvov like birds. But it will be later, but for now we are quietly trying to overcome 180 km to Biaritz. Part of the group will stay there, and we will go further to San Sebastian.
It's dark outside, it's raining, the sky is leaden. Oncoming cars go with the lights on, although it is 10.30 at the clock. San Sebastian is 277 km away. It is interesting how each country differs even in the views outside the window. While driving through Poland and Germany outside the window there was an exhibition of elegant houses with landscape design in every yard, especially in Poland. There are no fences, but thuja and Christmas trees of various shapes and sizes adorn the space between the houses.
In France near the roads of the field. There are many industrial buildings in Spain. It's good that there is a player, it not only entertains, but also creates a kind of privacy. You can hide from a movie you don't like, listen to music or a book. Most of the time we rode in silence, telling us little, in fragments. Films were also staged after the 133rd request. Again, I'm being capricious - the vocabulary and speech, as for the accompanying group, are very weakly set. And this is not only my opinion. In general, at first I kept quiet, I had nothing to compare with, and I remembered Accord's postscript on the last lines of the Infolist that the group escort is responsible for resettlement and order, and does not lead excursions. Gradually, most of the group shared their impressions with us, but they travel often - they were not lucky with the guide... Or our guide was just very tired and she had to speak a language other than her own.
Hooray! Arrived. San Sebastian. There are huge thick palm trees around, not at all the same as we have in the Crimea. How would one bring this to us? Rain, but warm. The guide is excellent, we listened to the story of the patron saint of the city, St. Sebastian. We passed the bridge of Maria Christina, whose name is also intertwined with the history of the city. We stood on Constitution Square, surrounded by houses with numbers on each balcony. Once upon a time, bullfights were held here and these were spectator seats. We looked at the Basilica of Santa Maria, the Cathedral, in which one of the largest organs in Spain. If I could get to a concert, the impression would probably be unforgettable. There are three Michelin-starred restaurants in San Sebastian. The average price of a tasting menu is about 150 euros.
The tour ended at 14.00. in the area of a small pretty botanical garden. In general, in the city, as it seemed to us, everything is quite compact - parks, squares, gardens. Probably for contrast with the ocean)) The downpour did not subside.
Free time until 17.50. The first thing we did was drop into the famous fish market - it is closed until 17.00. We rode through the puddles to the nearest shopping center. And that's where I got into Spanish fashion. She just fit me completely. Great fabrics, nice colors and good price. In general, I changed clothes in half an hour. And then to the ocean
They also wanted to get into the aquarium, but the ocean attracted and distracted. Then there was the ocean beach, jogging on the water and wild dancing in the surf. It was great. The water is warm, 18 degrees, no less. The rain didn't seem to let up completely. He gave a short break and watered us with renewed vigor. The cameras are wet, we were worried how they would survive this day.
The bay is simply magnificent, three strips of surf, a light breeze. I immediately remembered all the films and programs I had seen. Yes, yes, everything looks exactly like this))) Surfers were walking along the beach to the water. People of different ages, right barefoot in wetsuits with boards in their hands, walked to the waves. After talking with the locals, we found out that it’s a common thing during a break, and it lasts two or three hours - to go for a swim. And then get back to work. The beauty. We were offered to stay and try))) On the beach, along the edge of the surf, lovers of a healthy lifestyle in headphones and raincoats ran. Despite the weather, people walked with children and dogs.
To complete the picture, our pirouettes near the water, unexpectedly attracted a fluffy white dog. A local handsome man came running with the ball and began to demand that they play with him. In the meantime, he quickly and diligently buried in the sand my recently bought, and up to this point still dry, boots. It was fun. The dog walked with us, rushed after the ball and dug in the sand. Time flew. Wet, tired and satisfied, we went to the meeting place - to the Congress Center right on the embankment, the building is conspicuous, convenient.
We got to the hotel unusually early. We settled in around 9pm. It was time to dry off and call back relatives. The hotel is excellent. Comfortable, warm.
