The sea is near!
But it's hard without a horse. . .
Hotel Sorra d'Or is really located next to the sea - literally a couple of minutes. A big plus for swimmers (like me) and non-lovers of long walks. Also near the railway station - another plus for those who like to ride and see.
The rooms are not very big, but every morning we were pleased with the sea view…
Information for those who like to eat: the food is good : ) even excellent! A variety of meat, fish and fruits, plus our favorite Olivier salad; ) And ice cream : ) There is also a restaurant and a cafe with a disco.
Pleased with the price / quality ratio. Only in my opinion, European youth left this hotel to the elderly - there were too many elderly foreigners there.
In the courtyard there is a swimming pool with a paddling pool, so it’s the best thing for families with children! Or for those who can't swim : )
The first day we were surprised by the smell of bleach, the tap water is more chlorinated than in Russia, and the water in the pool too. I liked the interior of the hotel, although there is no unity of style, but very, very nice, sincere and nice. The food is very good, quite varied, there were no problems with this... True, after a week of stay, breakfasts began to become boring - they are quite monotonous. (But as I understand it, this is in almost all hotels in Spain). The hotel has two large "dining rooms", in the sense of restaurant halls, there are rooms for relaxing and reading, there is a cafeteria (dances are held there in the evenings). Mostly foreigners live in the hotel, and the elderly, and it seemed to me that mostly Germans. The hotel certainly corresponds to the price-quality ratio, and we did not regret that we chose this hotel. Not a very expensive hotel, but very close to the sea. Although they chose it almost "at random", the travel agency could not really tell about it. I just had a fixed idea to find a hotel close to the sea, so that you don’t have to walk to the sea for 10-20 minutes, but a maximum of 5 minutes. And by the way, this hotel is almost the only large hotel in the old part of the city, so the beach is not as crowded as in the new part of Malgrad (it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the new part of Malgrad to the railway station).
So we chose this hotel for the price and on this basis. By the way, if you think what is the difference between Malgrad de Mar and Kalela and Santa Susanna, then I will say that - nothing. I was in all these towns, they are all the same type, tourist. We really liked Malgrad, a small, cute town with an old church and its own park with the remains of a fortress (located above the church). In the evenings, we walked around the town, there are sometimes concerts in the local park and all that. You can walk along the sea along the coast, there is a special road not far from the sea... By the way, the advantage of Malgrad is that it is not only close to Barcelona, but also close to Blanes, where there is a wonderful botanical garden (I recommend it! ). I also advise you to take a boat trip to Tossa de Mar. . . I didn't regret this boat trip for a second. . . Tossa is an old town with its fortress. . . It's just awesome, it's just a pity that it's far from Barcelona : )
In general, the hotel is not bad, no complaints, the rooms are not very large, there is no air conditioning. So decide for yourself whether to be or not to be; )
