We rested in three with a child. Russian-speaking Martin, a pleasant man, settled in. The room was on the 4th floor, but they have it on the third. The windows opened onto the inner courtyard, where there was a wonderful view of the mountains and, the only one in the city, an 18-story building. The hostel is located on the very edge of the town of Calella and across the road is another town of Pineda De Mar, where there is a great cheap supermarket called Consum. The area is very quiet and we had a great night's sleep. Because other tourists who were closer to the center or in the very center, which is near the lighthouse, complained about the constant noise and commotion from young people and sleepless nights.
The room is small but very cozy. All the furniture is new, the air conditioner is free, the TV is for an additional fee, but who watches it in the age of the Internet. Wi-fi is free and high-quality. The room has towels, a complete set, many hangers in the closet, 3 glasses for water. A wonderful dressing room, everything is new and beautiful.
We immediately asked for an electric kettle, it was issued without any problems, it was also brand new. I asked for a hair dryer when I needed it, because there are only 3 of them in the hostel and that's why they don't give them all the time, I dried myself and gave it back. But all the time when I asked him, he was always free.
Breakfasts are monotonous, but it was enough to have breakfast and not be hungry until lunch. On the menu: sausage, cheese, snacks, buns, croissants, bread, sausages, omelet, juice, yogurt (our kislyak is very tasty, like homemade) machine with a variety of coffee, tea, nutella, butter, jam, honey, canned fruit cut . They always put their own food in the refrigerator at the reception, and when they left they forgot to take the food, oops.
To the beach, go along one straight road, then to the underpass and that's it, you are on a wide empty beach, where you lie at a great distance from each other, only on Saturday there are many locals there. There are always a lot of people on the beach closer to the lighthouse.
The sand is fine in the sea itself, small, pleasant pebbles, only after a thunderstorm with a storm, some pebbles washed up, but then the sea took them away. There is no sharp descent into the water, maybe in another place, but not on our beach. We swam with a mask, the water is very clear, the bottom is clean without stones and algae. As soon as you enter the water, a school of fish immediately swims up to you, but they do not pinch your legs, they just swim near you. An umbrella was never needed, (for 5 euros at the reception, they are issued) because it was mostly cloudy, but from 13.00 it was very hot, so we went to the room to rest until 16.00 and went to the beach again.
In the evening, everyone goes out for a walk on one central long street, which has a lot of cafes and shops. On Saturdays, there is a bazaar where products and things are sold, it is small, but the prices are pleasant. You left the hotel and turned right, walk until you hit the wall, turn right and go to the central road, turn left and along it you will reach the market.
When you will be taken by shuttle to the hostel, you will pass by this market. But on all other days it is just a parking lot, but there is one peculiarity, there are balconies with people painted on the building where the market is located, this is a landmark (on the bus, look in the right window. )
It is impossible to get lost in the town, all the streets are parallel to each other. There is a McDonald's, the prices are the same as in Ukraine.
We went to Barcelona by train, 5.5 euros, bought a ticket in both directions at once for 11 euros per person. I developed the route myself, using Google Maps, we went around all the iconic sights, and spent 8 hours.
In general, I liked Spain. After the victory, I will come with my husband. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!
