Hotel, well, why did my work colleague and I choose this hotel, we live in Estonia, unexpectedly we were given holidays for Christmas, so it turned out that either holidays or shortened days and decided to go to Egypt, but the ambush of seats on the plane has been gone for 2 weeks, we looked from Finland, there are no tickets either, I went to a local company, they said yes from Peter, please, they asked about hotels, who sold a very incompetent person, take any 5 five and everything will be fine, looked at the hotel rating, I see there is Taba, in the description year-round vacation, on border with Israel, I think we bought tickets well and flew a direct flight to Taba, planes don’t fly there at all from Estonia, the first shock was at the border, I warn people from the Baltics in advance - you will have problems even with European Union passports, I have written on my passport Estonian is the European Union, they don’t understand this at all for half an hour, the customs officer kept calling somewhere with a passport and finally got a Sinai visa, my colleague had a non-citizen passport, there was a complete ambush, they didn’t give him a visa, the bus with tourists waited for us for an hour and a half, finally they gave our passport without a visa to our escort so that we could go to the border with Israel to the most important border guard in Sinai, so we flew in at 11, while everyone was taken to hotels - I don’t know what people admire there, but some hotels are located in such holes in the mountain desert that there is simply nowhere to go outside the gates of the hotel, I suppose that someone likes it, the hotels are located along the coast somewhere at 60 km, by 16 we arrived at the border with Israel to to the main border guard, he turned the passport in his hands, gave it back and treated us with sweets, said that he was afraid that we would run away to Israel or Jordan, so we checked into the hotel without a Sinai stamp by 17, the room was given a clean, tidy, but without a balcony and we asked for a room for smoking, given for non-smokers, in the evening the temperature dropped to plus 8 in the room 15-16 maximum, this air conditioner is not capable of more, went to the reception, asked for another room, at least with a working we have air conditioning and on the sunny side, so that it warms up at least during the day, they said that they would pay another 200 bucks, I sent everyone away, the hotel is empty, everyone is settled from the shady side, the sun is almost invisible, only 20% of the rooms are occupied from the sunny side , apparently they paid, they cleaned the room every day, not bad with crocodiles and all kinds of living creatures from towels, but I don’t care about that at all, the main thing is that it would be clean.
They fed me, I’m not a gourmet about food, but why call meatballs meat, it’s hard to say, there was no meat at all, there was a bird, they even cooked a goose for Catholic Christmas, and so there was chicken and rarely boiled fish, cut oranges and grapefruits from fruits, mashed potatoes and soups broths with lentils, alcohol is rubbish like everywhere else in Egypt, I even tried local vodka, it felt like acetone was poured, I was most surprised that there is no free internet in a 5-star hotel, I don’t like to hang out there, but I needed to call and I was offered 5 dollars in 15 minutes at the hotel, purely on principle I went to the neighboring Movenpick hotel and everything was there, also 5 stars, more than half are Arabs, but the food is better and all rooms with balconies, the only negative is the freshwater river on the Movenpick territory- a breeding ground for mosquitoes, at the Hilton and Movenpick, the beach can be said to be common and not bad, even there are corals in one place, security at the hotel is like on the border with Israel, if you go outside the hotel and then back to the hotel, then t You will be searched by 3 checkpoints with metal detectors and even a TV for luggage, in general, when we flew out again, we stumbled with passports, but, to our great happiness, they didn’t leave us in Sinai, we didn’t go there again.
