After last year's vacation in Hurghada, we decided not to betray our beloved Red Sea, but to change our place of rest - to go to a quiet Taba with an eye on an excursion to Israel. The hotel was picked up by a female manager from a travel agency. The cost at the time was about $960 per person. Although we got to the hotel without incident, the service of the tour operator "Pegas Tourist" should be better (although what can be expected from a monopolist in Taba? ). Guides, well, they didn’t pull 5 *))). The hotel greeted us warmly, but without drinks, as foreigners are greeted, so those who consider this discrimination against the Slavs can put a tick. At the reception, the resettlement went pretty quickly, without baksheesh we were given good rooms in building D. The room had everything that was indicated in the tour operator's prospectus - air conditioning (working well), and a free safe, and a refrigerator (small, really). In a word, the number suits us perfectly.
The territory of the hotel is large and green. 5 or 6 pools (depending on how you count), free sauna (familiar Siberians were dissatisfied with her, they say, weak), sports (the legs never reached him).
The hotel staff pretends that they do not know Russian, although this did not upset us much - in two weeks of communicating with them, with an extremely small stock of English words and phrases, I learned to communicate with them almost freely (without tension), because all communication was part of a dozen or two phrases))). I was pleased that the hotel staff did not go and look into the eyes, like a cat from "Shrek" in the hope of baksheesh. Usual hotel hospitality (standard phrases "Hello", "Hi", etc. ) and smiles. They did not bother us and did not cause any discomfort at all.

Beach . . Well, this is a specific question)). . Because there is no beach like everyone imagines. . You can, of course, lie in the surf, but this is already the beginning of the reef (although there are sandy areas) . . But the reef !! ! This is a fairytale. Divers from other hotels were brought to our reef. The reef is teeming with all living creatures and you can easily see from multi-colored small fry to stingrays, moray eels, sea turtles, sea snakes. You should not be afraid - if all these inhabitants do not poke their fingers in their mouths, no one will touch you - neither the barracuda nor the poisonous lionfish. But to be careless. . I sat down on a sponge to pour water out of the mask, when I immediately realized that I was sitting in the wrong place - the burn from our nettles cannot be compared. . And the leg scratched on the coral healed for more than a month . .
The only place where the most misunderstandings arose was the restaurant. No, the food there is excellent and I don’t understand those who start to whine, they say, the food is monotonous and gets boring after a week: yes, if you take one meat for a whole week, not paying attention to everything else, it can really become boring. The problem arose with drinks, more precisely, with their delivery. You need to order from the waiters who walk around the hall and deliver drinks. My advice to you - just be more persistent (but you hardly need to stoop to rudeness) and you will be served normally. A few days later we met several waiters and there were no problems at all then. Giving baksheesh to an unfamiliar waiter in the hope that he will recognize you is a stupid thing: just throw away the money.
There is no animation, so you will have to go to other nearby hotels for discos, it's not far. But after dinner, sitting in a wicker chair and listening to good music (non-Arabic) in the breeze from the sea is a real thrill for those to whom the bustle of the city sits in the liver.
GENERALLY, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I think it's well worth the money spent. With us were guys from Kharkov, who had a rest there for the 3rd year in a row. I also do not mind coming here again, snorkeling (super relaxation), although my wife was stressed by the situation with the restaurant.
And one more thing . . It’s better to take excursions not from guides from Pegas Touristik (they scare with fears, they say, this may be, and that). We went with Anna, who offered excursions to Jerusalem for 120 bucks, while the tour operator - for 190 (even without a stop in Bethlehem). We had a great trip, and with the saved money we booked another excursion))) . .
