It was the first time in Egypt, we had a family vacation (2 adults, 3 children). We were at the end of July 2018. When choosing a hotel, the tour agent advised Sharm Dreams Resort 5 * as a family vacation.
The first negative upon arrival (initially ordered a two-room suite). Changed room three times during check in. The hotel area is huge. Our room type (one bedroom villa) was far from the reception, 5-7 min walk downhill under the scorching sun, very inconvenient with small children. Looking ahead, I’ll say that the road to the sea is another 5-7 minutes from the reception and at the same time you have to cross two roads (drivers in Egypt are not very cultured and rarely anyone stops even if there is a red light for them and this is taking into account speed bumps). I will continue about the room: the first room had a dirty bed, a broken hair dryer and wardrobe doors, furniture in a terrible state, like from the USSR, a dangling non-rotated faucet in the bathroom. They didn’t immediately offer money for the room, since the tour agent promised that all the rooms in the hotel are cool and give money only if we want to change the room to a larger or higher class. But after seeing the first number, we decided that $ 20 could solve the problem and we would be given a decent clean room. They didn’t take money at the reception, but they offered another room, which in the end turned out to be even worse, with a battered table that had incomprehensible greasy stains, there were huge stains on the folding sofa, a lot of sand and a lot of crumbs, you can’t put children in short. Having photographed everything, I returned to the reception and made a slight scandal, showing the photos to the senior manager, I went with him to look at the next room, which we eventually settled on, although there were questions about cleanliness to this room. As a result, the settlement process dragged on for several hours.
The bulk of vacationers (70-75%) are Arabs, the rest are Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Belarusians and Russians.

Moving on, the dining room (because it's definitely not a restaurant): appearance - requires at least cosmetic repairs. Plates are not always clean, glasses may not be enough. The food is not tasty. If you go into the dining room half an hour after the start of the meal, then you have to wait for the table because everything is busy, or if it’s free, then they clean it for a long time and you still won’t sit down at it. The display of food is also not very good, there are no fruits that you look at and want to take, there are tasteless pieces of melon, sometimes dates and pears with apples cut into pieces, there was nothing else. I would also like to complain about the Arabs, who, when choosing food, could take it with their hands, bite it and put it back, or try food with the help of devices for laying food and put the corresponding devices also back.
The bar is a separate story, beer was diluted with water, other alcohol could also be replaced with water. Many vacationers made comments about this to the bartenders, even called in senior managers who pretended not to understand the pretension or ended up saying "Sorry" and everything continued on. Also, the bartender served the Arabs first, and then everyone else.
The beach is on the territory of another hotel, the water is clean, there are a lot of fish, sand, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, there is garbage. The rescue towers are empty, there are no lifeguards. At a distance of a hundred meters from the shore, there are many different boats - I mean that the wind carries the exhaust gases from them directly to the beach.
Animation is for those with children. You can’t write much - it simply doesn’t exist. Animators sluggishly walk near the central pool, often go to the bar and eagerly drink cola. This is where the animation ends. We tried to ask them for the ball, they pointed at each other with their fingers and in the end it was not possible to find out which of them had the ball.
Service - in general, 5 points out of 10, they didn’t seem to refuse, but they weren’t very happy when you turn to them. It is difficult for them to speak Russian, although many speak English quite well, you can understand.
The water park is not interesting, I didn’t like it, the slides are very slow even for children of 5 years old, the joints on the slides are rather unpleasant and painful, again Arabs. In the end, it took us half an hour.
Restaurants on site are not included in the all-inclusive system, they are paid. There are no free restaurants.
The territory is large, not completely well-groomed, there is yellow burnt grass and fallen palm trees, there are 9 pools.
P. S. Sharm Dreams Resort 5 * - this is definitely not a 5 * hotel, a maximum of 3, well, if with a stretch, then 3 *.
