MARRIOTT MOUNTAIN RESORT SHARM 5*
MOST DETAILED REVIEW

How many people - so many opinions: one is not satisfied with the service, another - food, the third - the sea, for which, in fact, everyone is striving here ...But it also happens that someone likes everything!
Therefore, this time there will not be “travel notes”, but only the most detailed, step-by-step and reliable review of the Marriott Mountain Resort Sharm 5 * Naama Bay (second line).
The flight on the Windrose Airlines Airbus, as always, was easy and imperceptible. The main merit in this, of course, is the crew, whose members professionally, politely and with a constant smile served the flight. I would especially like to note the flight attendant Oleg Bagrov, who, with his reverent attitude not only to work, but also to each passenger, has long won sympathy and has become an example for many colleagues.

Arriving in Sharm el-Sheikh, first of all, you need to decide - the rest will be purely beach (perhaps only with a visit to the monastery of St. Catherine, by the way, the patroness of the city of Dnipro) or you plan to visit Luxor, Cairo and other attractions. In the first case, a visa is not required, but if you travel around the country, then you will have to “buy” it. After filling out a small, understandable form, you need to hand it in at passport control, where they will also photograph you, scan both hands and put a stamp in your passport. And this is important! Because, as it turned out, they sometimes “forget” to do it, and then, already at departure, there will be a lot of problems ...
After these simple procedures, you can already look for your luggage on the conveyor belt, which will be “enlightened” again before leaving the building. In general, security in Egypt comes first.
There are a lot of police in the main tourist places, who recommend that tourists always carry a voucher with them. Looking ahead, we’ll tell you that the entrance to the hotel from the street and from the beach is carried out only through an arched metal detector with the obligatory “X-ray” of all bags, including even small cosmetic bags and purses with documents.
TEZ TOUR was entrusted with organizing the vacation, because we always put reliability and guarantees at the forefront. At the exit of the airport building, a polite representative of the company immediately pointed out where the bus was, which would take us to the hotel. The trip took only 20 minutes. During this time, they briefly but succinctly told the main points of the rapidly approaching vacation and oriented on the info-meeting with the hotel guide.
Marriott Naama Bay, at first glance, differed from neighboring hotels only in a large, well-groomed green area. But, once inside, immediately, for some reason, they remembered the majestic palace in Istanbul.
Luxurious and huge hall, for sure, was designed by a very talented architect. A spacious room with wide granite stairs and bronze railings, massive columns aiming upwards and an arched reception desk literally flowed into passages to the rooms and to the cozy restaurant. Exotic plants and trees are everywhere. No matter where the guest is in the hall, there is always an incredible amount of space in front of him with natural sunlight from the transparent pyramidal roof. Impressed!
The administrators are always ready to help, but I would especially like to mention Ibrahim, who is competent in all matters and sincerely wants to help each guest. Even when you ask him how to get somewhere on your own, he explains in detail, and does not send "to taxi drivers" ...

The rooms are located on all levels, but on the first floor - with access through the loggia directly to the pool.
Standard - more than 30 meters in size - with one large or a pair of double beds with comfortable mattresses and 8 pillows of different hardness, a loggia and a bathroom with a bathtub and a stationary hairdryer. Shampoos, shower gels and soaps are constantly updated.
Door with peephole and metal shutter. In the hallway there is a closet, a safe and a refrigerator. Furniture, though not new, but very solid and comfortable. The room has blackout curtains, a working fire alarm. The channels we are used to are broadcast on TV. On the spacious balcony there is a plastic table and two armchairs.
The view from the rooms on the second and third floors can be of a large swimming pool, emerald lawns with bright flower beds or mountains - hence the prefix in the name "Mountain".
Daily high-quality cleaning, snow-white corridors with cacti and palm trees, carefully groomed "green" area, regularly treated with anti-mosquito smoke, are conducive to relaxation.
In principle, the hotel is a logical continuation of Marriott Beach, which is located on the first line. The numbering of rooms begins there and continues in Mountain. There are only 270 steps from one building to another! Although the path lies through the highway, thanks to the wide "speed bumps" cars in front of the "zebra" significantly reduce the speed, and tourists are transferred across the road by special employees with a funny baton.
When we went to meet the hotel guide, we were in for a real surprise. We could not even imagine such a TEZ TOUR employee. It is clear that you can’t control everyone, but this has never happened before.

Moataz Mahmud began by saying that "the gathered Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Russians, Belarusians are all the same for me and bears walk the streets in your country. " And he said so because “we most of the tourists believe that only Arabs live here, and Moataz is not an Arab, but a Bedouin. And this is a big difference ...”After that, he spoke crumpled about the hotel and detailed about excursions (here without complaints, this is normal practice, but ... ), focusing on the fact that the discount is only today, and he will be here for only an hour. Moataz then collected data on the dates of the tourists' departures and told them where to look for information about the return flight. The guests began to ask questions (many for the first time in Egypt), but after handing out advertising leaflets, he threw over his shoulder “I’ll answer the reception, now listen to my colleague”, collected a briefcase and hurriedly left. The “colleague” turned out to be some completely outside woman who offered to go for ...“Turkish skin” in Sharm el-Sheikh.
How did she get to the info-meeting.... ? The only thing that the hotel guide said correctly was “everyone here wants to get money from tourists, and therefore you should always be extremely careful and not trust anyone. ”
After the standard patter "leather-fur-cheap-discount-free bus ... " we went to the hall, where the following dialogue took place:
- We would like to sign up for an a la carte restaurant. The guide who accompanied us to the hotel said that you would help?
- There you need to pay ...And in general, you do not need it. What excursions do you want?
- We have not decided yet. You need to at least think a little, calculate dates and times ...
- I have no time! Need to order right now!
- But, you said that you can later or tomorrow, there will simply be no discounts ...
- Not! Just now! Decide quickly: yes? Not? Yes? Not?
- Not yet.
- Then give the booklet and goodbye!
To be honest, this is the first and, we hope, the last time we met such an attitude.
A comfortable bus picked us up at a clearly agreed time and, indeed, took us to the only Coptic Orthodox Church in the city, As-Samaiyun, located in the Hainur district (between Naama Bay and the Old City). It was built with donations from believers in 2010. Outside, the temple does not have golden domes, but inside it is so richly decorated with magnificent frescoes and stained glass windows with Biblical scenes that it takes your breath away.
While everyone was impressed by what they saw, the guide said that “we will go to the mosque only if there is time left after the shopping center. After all, only in it we can buy real oils, cosmetics, “corals”, “arafats” and other things that are so necessary for everyone ...”All the way we listened to a lecture that if we buy something now, we will cure all ailments and we will live happily ever after, smeared with incense.
“And it’s not scary that someone didn’t take money with them - you can pay later at the hotel ... ”

Returning, we went through the cozy, with waterfalls and ponds, the hall of the Marriott Beach Resort Sharm, crossed the promenade and through the "hookah bar" got straight to the sandy beach. On the left - a small children's town (without nannies and inimators), on the right - the exchange of special cards for towels, and directly - free sunbeds with mattresses and massive wooden "mushrooms". Next - a comfortable sandy entrance to the gentle sea. By the way, if you symbolically thank the “chief in towels” (he is the oldest one on the issue), then you will not get washed out from the general pile, but new and beautiful ones.
Note that the bottom here is mostly sandy, and therefore the underwater world here is a bit scarce.
However, we spotted stray colored fish and even a stingray, an octopus and a lion (striped lionfish)… But if you go into the water 20 meters to the right (on the border with Novotel), the picture changes dramatically. You can literally walk from the shore, accompanied by flocks of small brightly striped fish, to the reef and then swim “into a fairy tale”. Another great option is to go down from the plastic pier (pantone) and go in the opposite direction from the Marriott between the reef and the buoys. Here you immediately find yourself in the magical world of incredible marine life - absolutely transparent water becomes deeper, there are more fish, and the reef is more colorful. Most importantly, don't forget your mask and snorkel! But, in fact, it is convenient: in one place you can splash around a lot, without fear of running into sharp corals, and a little to the side - a reef. To be honest, we did not have the advertised coral slippers, but they were not needed here.
Of course, for the kids here expanse.
The only question is nutrition - for the little ones, you either need to bring it with you, or you can find something in pharmacies, of which there are many. And of course, cheeses, fruits, vegetables...The hotel provides the simplest high chairs (at first glance, not quite clean), but there is no children's menu.
When settling in the room on the table was one and a half liter free mineral water. It should be noted that juices and water in bars and restaurants are only on tap (bottled is very rare).
A bar is open on the beach from morning until late in the evening, where, according to all inclusive, you can take water, tea, coffee, pineapple and mango juices, alcoholic cocktails and delicious Pharaoh keg beer in unlimited quantities in disposable plastic cups. After lunch near the hookah - free ice cream.

In general, the hotel has a very thoughtful time for breakfast (from 6.30 to 11.00), lunch and dinner.
In the morning, just a huge selection of delicious pastries, various jams and honey, vegetables and salads, fruits, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs, cheeses, potatoes, baked tomatoes, halva, muesli with milk, raisins, dates, bananas, oranges, juices, as well as tea and coffee in cups of 350 grams.
For lunch and dinner, to the above, soups, poultry, fish, meat and cakes (chocolate, mango, carrot, fruit, biscuit, etc. ) with cakes are added without fail. To be honest, sweets are very tasty and “not heavy”. Veal alternates with lamb. The meat is served both in sauce and fried or grilled. Often there is lasagne bolnese, dolma and grilled sea bass. Always a variety of pasta dishes with delicious sauces and additives and much more.
All food is adapted for our stomach, that is, not fatty and abundantly not peppery and not salty. On cakes, the cream is not cloying. In general, during the entire stay, no one was poisoned and no one became ill.
When leaving, they really didn’t take a penny from us (“zero” for tea and coffee were written out twice a day).
We should not forget that in Egypt, high-quality and inexpensive drugs with a different spectrum of action (for example, excellent antiviral drugs for $ 2 C-Retard 500 Mg, Night and day and One two three, Larypro sore throat lozenges for a dollar, Royal VIT G vitamins and Vitamax, Pantogar hair and nail complexes, various painkillers, Glucosamine (chondoitine) joint preparations, analogues of the well-known sumamed (azithromycin) for 2-3 USD and much more). There are many pharmacies, but it is better to choose state-owned ones with fixed prices (they are actually inexpensive! But payment is only in cash - no cards). So, when we took a white and blue minibus in 15 minutes and 1 dollar per person to the old city (Old Market) in search of a Fares fish restaurant, the driver dropped us off just near one of them, in which the smiling pharmacist Nadir competently helped with choice of medicines.

But, we must not forget the rules for crossing the border - we were forced to open our luggage and show purchases to make sure that there were no illegal drugs and a non-commercial number of purchases.
There are good pharmacies literally 30 meters between Marriott Beach and the beach. I also liked it on the left before entering the shopping street (next to Genena City), which is on the edge of Naama Bay.
...Heading towards the mosque and turning a couple of times to the left, we found the advertised fish restaurant Fares. In front of the entrance, all kinds of seafood lay on the ice: shrimps of various sizes and fish of various colors, lobsters, squids and octopuses. We have photographed the menu, so you can see the prices in local pounds for yourself. Everything was fresh, tasty and relatively inexpensive!
Returning to the hotel, we went to gymnastics, which was led by Alena - perhaps the most experienced and provocative of the entire animation team.
She, along with her colleagues Elmira and Rambo, every day do exercises and yoga on the beach, aqua aerobics in the sea, organize dances and fun competitions, gather teams to play darts, volleyball, etc. But, to be honest, but all saturated the program rests on the professionalism and charisma of Alena Avdeeva.
In general, I liked the hotel and the attitude towards the guests.
Will we come back here again - if everything remains at the same level, then, of course, YES!

P. S. We were brought to the airport three hours before departure. On the way, they were instructed to ban the export of cultural and historical values, corals, shells and a large number of medicines. Immediately after entering, they passed the first control (they checked the "entry" stamps in the passport before it), after which several people asked to open their luggage, which they carefully sorted out.
Not finding anything unresolved, they immediately lost interest in us.

Having repacked our things, we poisoned ourselves for boarding passes, having received which, we went to passport control. After it - again checking things and an X-ray scanner not only for hand luggage, but also for belts, shoes, etc. Here - the absorption or "liquidation" of all liquids (if you want to drink - buy further, literally, for three prices). Next - an "easy" search, a manual check of things and - the long-awaited Duty Free.
But it was not there. We have never seen such high prices in a duty free shop. For example, L'Oreal aftershave lotion bought for three euros on departure here cost 13 ...Perfume and colognes are more expensive, on average, by 20-40 euros than at other airports.
Well, and the crown of the Egyptian business: benches are squeezed between DutyFree stores (so that you don’t even immediately understand that they have nothing to do with the international network), in which, for example, traditional children’s T-shirts with pyramids or camels cost from 11 euros (at a price of 3-5 dollars in resort shops). Nearby there are several cafes with exorbitant prices and two women's toilets nearby. But the male was alone and on the second floor ...
But these are all worldly trifles compared to the mass of positive emotions and vivid impressions that the country of the pharaohs and the fabulous world of the Red Sea left us.
