So everything is in order. I had been nurturing the idea of going on vacation to Egypt for a long time - for 3 years I had not been on a full-fledged vacation. Therefore, the prospect of spending at least a week away from all problems and resting my soul and body filled me with bright forebodings. The first step was to decide on a resort. At Inter, I once saw in the news a story about El Gouna as an elite resort. But after reading the reviews, I realized that not everything is so simple. I liked the reviews about Taba, but the 4-hour bus ride after the flight did not appeal, and there are no direct flights from Ukraine. Hurghada was not advised in November because of the winds. Therefore, only Charm remained. In addition to Sharma, there were all the touted corals and the underwater world, as well as a more friendly environment due to the small number of indigenous people, the absence of beggars and a more stable crime situation.
The only alarm was that a week before the departure there was news about the arrest of a group of terrorists who were preparing a terrorist attack in several hotels in Sharm. Well, the resort is chosen - then it's up to the hotel. And here I was disappointed. It turned out that the majority of hotels in Sharm have access to the sea only from a pontoon, and my wife cannot swim at depth. , that is, we needed a beach with entry into the sea. And the pain of searching began. The situation was complicated by the fact that comfort and the level of food in the hotel itself were very important for me - after all, I want to spend the only week of vacation in complete relaxation, and not in a showdown with the hotel administration and local cockroaches in the room. Breaking through a bunch of threads on the internet came to the conclusion that the most recommended for me were Iberotel Palace and iberotel Club Fanara. The first had excellent reviews, but it turned out that there were no places in it. The second was still a four, and so I wanted a decent five.
At some point, I realized that I could not understand what to do next and opened my own topic: http://www.turpravda.com/eg/sharm_el_sheyh/question-35060.html

As a result, about 10 hotels with completely different prices and reviews were recommended.
To finally decide, I opened another topic by narrowing down the search: http://www.turpravda.com/eg/sharm_el_sheyh/question-35111.html

This is how the choice fell on Sentido Reef Oasis Senses Resort. Remarkably, there is very little information about him on the turpravda.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that not a single tour operator in the city advised me of this hotel according to my criteria. And the operator from whom I eventually bought a ticket said that they never sent vacationers to this hotel. The adequacy of tour operators' employees is generally a separate issue. Some, looking at my list of hotels, categorically assured me that in these hotels the entrance is only from the pontoon. Since, according to them, if there is a pontoon, then there is no entrance from the shore. My advice to you - choose a hotel yourself, using reviews on the Internet.
A tour operator should be chosen according to several criteria: price and how long they have been working on the market. It seems to me that with young companies there are more chances to get in, but not a fact. My IMHO.

So departure from Boryspil at 15-30. We are flying with UIA. Flight without delay. Registered via the Internet and chose the places we like. The food is excellent. Speaking of UIA, I can’t help but remember that half a year ago they returned my iPad, forgotten in my seat pocket, when returning from Tel Aviv. Therefore, they have special respect.

We arrived in Egypt when it was already dark. Although the tour operator Coral Travel meets us Odeon Tour. As I understand it, in Egypt they are represented by one company. We were not going on excursions, so I planned to take Sinai ONLY in advance. But, I still don't understand how to do it. The tour operator issued a questionnaire in which there was no such line. To my and other passengers' questions, how to get a Sinai-only visa, everyone answered in unison - no Sinay.

Therefore, there was nothing else to do but go and buy 2 visas for $15. Each. The money was prepared separately for 30 dollars, as a friend complained that in Hurghada he was not returned change from 40 dollars. True, in front of me who bought visas - they gave all the change to the nearest dollar. For an additional fee, the Odeon Tour representative offered to fill out immigration cards for us, but we ourselves have a mustache.

At the exit from the airport, several locals rushed to help me pull our only suitcase on wheels, but we politely refused. Other vacationers complained that they then demanded $10 or $20 for this service.

15 minutes of waiting and the bus leaves to deliver tourists to hotels. Ours was 3rd or 4th in line. The journey took no more than half an hour. Odeon guide Peter was very hospitable and cheerful. True, there were inadequate, without a sense of humor.
We chose the second option, of course. Although on the map it seemed that it was far away, our building was exactly two minutes walk from the reception. The room was clean, well maintained and quite large and spacious. The advantage of this hotel is that all rooms in it are at least Superior, so you will not be placed in a small standard instead of a paid room of the highest category.

Room cleaning daily. The first day he did not leave a tip, but on the second day Mahmud knocked, introduced himself that he was cleaning the room and asked if everything was fine - he gave him a dollar and he left happily. After that, he regularly left a dollar in the room for cleaning. Although it wasn't necessary.
The room has everything you need from furniture and a safe to toiletries. What is missing in the room is an iron. But somehow we managed. Although, I'm sure, ask and they would bring it to us.

Now about the main thing - about the sea. The sea is just wonderful.

The beach is large sandy. There were enough beds for everyone. Towels are provided on the beach. I forgot to mention - closer to the sea is the Reef Oasis Beach hotel. So, guests of Sentido can use everything that is on the territory of this hotel - restaurants, bars, swimming pools, the beach, etc. Guests of the Reef cannot use the services of the Sentido hotel. There is a separate beach for Sentido guests, but it is further from the pontoon - so we were more often located on the Reef beach. From the shore you can safely enter the sea. First sand, and then there are stones with corrals. The buoys will prevent you from entering or swimming on the coral reef. Most do without special shoes. In the sea, there are just a huge number of all sorts of fish and other living creatures. When you snorkel, you feel like you are in an aquarium. If you walk along the pontoon, you immediately find yourself in deep water of 15 meters next to the coral reef.
I swam for hours along the wall of corals - an incredible variety of all sorts of landscapes of corals and living creatures. What I didn’t like very much - opposite the beach, farther from the pontoons, boats with scuba divers stop all day, although on the other hand this proves numerous opinions about one of the best corals.
A bus runs to the beach every 10-15 minutes. Have only used them a couple of times. Mostly walked - 10 minutes with a calm gait around the hotel.

Nutrition.
Sentido has a main restaurant as well as several bars. We ate mostly in the main restaurant. We went to Italian several times, but we didn’t notice a big difference with the main one, and the service seemed better to us in the latter. As I already mentioned - every evening some other cuisine was presented in the restaurant. Meals are organized in the form of a buffet. The choice of dishes is very large.
Basically, I liked everything - only one evening they ran into the meat of an old cow - it was hard to chew. : ) Drinks are served by the waiters. In the morning you can order fresh juice. In the evening we took wine - we liked the red one very much. It happens that the waiters do not come for a long time - somehow I went to the bar myself and asked for tea. In the last two evenings, he gave a dollar tip to the waiter who served dinner - it seemed that the service had improved, but maybe this is self-hypnosis. Importantly, this hotel provides bottled water. Including on the beach, unlike Reef Oasis.

Entertainment
We didn’t particularly go for entertainment, but we were very, very pleasantly surprised to find that every evening at 7-00 “live” music plays on the terrace opposite the reception. Live in brackets, because the pianist was live and the piano is still electronic. : ) One evening a saxophonist played - generally fly away.
There is a wonderful water park.
And there is a separate one for children with small slides.

There is some animation on the beach, but it is mostly Italian. Although the animators try to speak Russian and English as well, Italian prevails. Although for us it was not so important. One evening we went to a performance near an Indian restaurant prepared by animators. It was funny only because it was not clear when to laugh. Such he, probably, is severe Italian humor. : ) But we didn't care, because that wasn't the purpose of our trip.
Internet was available only on the terrace near the receptions.

City
Directly opposite the hotel is the entertainment complex 1001 nights. To get to the main entrance, you need to go around it on the right. Do not bypass it on the left - there is some kind of incomprehensible street. Near the main entrance begins a market where you can buy souvenirs and gifts. I really liked to bargain - the price could always be thrown off by 1.5 - 2 times.
I would pay attention to cheap cotton. Very high quality T-shirts for 5-6 dollars - we don't have such prices.

In general, the rest was a success and we liked it very much, and if we go to Sharm again, then most likely we will stay at this hotel.
