It is difficult to decide what to write, there is an ambiguous impression, despite the fact that the hotel is more good than not. The ROYAL GRAND SHARM (EX. IBEROTEL GRAND SHARM) hotel claims to be of a very high standard and has its own very strict rules.
Some of them may be related to the global crisis.
My husband and I are in Egypt for the 2nd time. This is not much, but still there is something to compare. Last time we were at the SAVITA RESORT & SPA (LA VITA) hotel. According to the head of the ROYAL GRAND SHARM SPA, the ROYAL hotel is "too much better" than SAVITA. And I liked it there, although now, when comparing, I also already see the disadvantages. : ) The coral reef is undoubtedly the best in SAVITA!
The tour operator was Anex tour. Flying with wizzair. Seats on the plane - "free". You have to be mentally prepared for this, a terribly unpleasant moment. The food on the plane is an inedible ham sandwich and twix. But this is not the most important thing. They flew great! : )
Despite the fact that even on the bus they say that you don’t need to give money at the reception, I highly recommend giving $ 20. They saved us! The room number was corrected on the envelope. The hotel is large and you can walk 1-2 minutes to the beach, or 8 minutes.
We were ready for hot weather. On the day of arrival, the temperature was 30 degrees. and approximately +1 degree every day. In the last 2 days - 38-40 is certainly hot. Sea temperature - 26. When swimming with your head - in flippers, a mask - this is not much at all.
It is very important to note that the hotel has a strict dress code for dinner, women are in elegant clothes, men are strictly in trousers. Many come smartly dressed in evening dresses.
We stayed on an all inclusive basis.
The staff seems to be courteous, but strangely enough, it is important that the staff will like you so that you are treated well. And then they are even too familiar. I would prefer just a polite attitude towards all customers. It is not clear to me how the staff can say that you cannot sit at the table you want to sit at; staff may refuse you not in the most successful form. Or very navyashchevo to invite for their own.
Ordering drinks through waiters, so you have to communicate with them a lot. You have to sign bills all the time. Everything is very serious.
The hotel has very weak animation, which is immediately reported upon check-in. There is a disco, but it is empty.
Of the unconditional advantages:
1. well-groomed green area, reminiscent of a botanical garden, which is very nice to look at!!!;
2. packaged juices! Do not yupi, as they say in some reviews;
3. Nestle water 0.5 l can be taken in bars against signature on the bill. But I still don’t understand, is it really so difficult to put water in the room, 2 bottles of 1.5 liters, as it was in Savita. You have to carry water all the time to your room to brush your teeth; : ))
4. I liked it in the SPA for massages, you definitely need to bargain, all prices are "like in Euros";
5. neat room, good plumbing;
6. good beach bar; the only comfortable bar in the hotel;
7. delicious pizza, omelettes;
8. normal room cleaning. Left on 1 dollar daily;
9. huge selection of food, delicious ice cream at the beach bar;
10. the beach is large, there are a lot of sunbeds.
Of the minuses:
1. food is neutral, as if prepared in advance;
2. few fruits, often not washed bananas, peaches, grapes, and they are green;
3. the coral reef is not amazing, strong current, often cold water and few beautiful colored fish;
4. there is one pontoon on the beach, which is a long way to go;
5. even on the "all inclusive" system, there is nothing to eat during the day, you have to wait for lunch / dinner;
6. there is only one evening bar and for 4 tables, there is nowhere to drink drinks with friends after dinner;
7. You cannot bring the water you bought into the hotel, etc. outside the hotel, despite the fact that we were on an all-inclusive basis, it was a pity to throw it away.
We certainly had a good time! But the sea wants more colorful! And, given the dissatisfaction of vacationers from other hotels, everything was fine with us!
