Rested from June 14 to June 25.2012 with my 4-year-old son and aunt at the Domina Coral Bay Prestige hotel.
Tour operator Coral Travel - there were some complaints about the fact that accurate data (as it turned out later) about the entire infrastructure of the hotel were not provided.
The flight lasted 5 hours with the Transairo airline, I won’t write about it, everyone already knows that the food is bad, but in general everything is like everyone else. One + is that you can register online in advance and choose normal seats on the plane.
Met by representatives of the company at the airport and brought without problems. Everything is as usual.
At the hotel we were greeted with a welcome cocktail of melon juice with ice - a great drink, we had never tried it before, we liked it very much. They gave us a room exactly in the building that was reserved (with a sea view), on the first floor, and also overlooking the pool. For all 12 days no one appeared in the pool. The room is large enough, it had 2 large beds and a sofa for a child, a coffee table, 2 chairs, 2 stools, a desk and 2 bedside tables. The furniture is quite old, but not falling apart. Canopy beds (beautiful, but not comfortable, legs constantly stumbled over them, because they touched the floor about 20 cm. We did not use the jacuzzi in the bathroom, because we did not trust the washing of this unit, we used it as a shower "Toilet, bidet and sink are clean, everything functions normally. There are a lot of towels, 2 on the floor. Both towels and linen were changed every day. Bathrobes and slippers for the entire rest. As for cleanliness, I would like to say separately, the soles of slippers by the end of the rest were black, as if we were walking the streets in them. Of course, they washed the floors, but most likely only with water, the child, when he ran across it in socks, the socks were just as dirty. Oh, yes, I haven’t written yet that there is a terrace, but we only dried clothes on it, because there is no air conditioning, it is very stuffy. At the entrance to the room, a plate of fruit and a letter addressed to me with the rules and routine of the hotel were waiting for us. By the way, plates and cutlery made from fruit for all 12 days they were not taken out of the room, they stood there - dirty s. But the cups, glasses and glasses were washed daily (most likely the plates were not part of their duties))) There was also a kettle, coffee, tea and sugar in the room. There was a safe and a refrigerator with the contents of the minibar (we asked that we take everything out of it and use it at our discretion)
Our package included only breakfasts - we were very pleased with them: yogurts, cheeses, sausages, ham, vegetables and fruits, pastries, fresh melon and oranges, 4 types of nuts, and a hot menu: omelettes, scrambled eggs, pancakes....Brewed coffee.
On the day of arrival, we bought dinners in a la carte restaurants for 15 euros per person (the child is free), we were also offered to buy lunches for 5 euros, but we did not want this initially when buying a ticket with breakfast. We were in restaurants: Fish (Venice), Italian (La Pizzetta), steak house (Petra), we didn’t like it anywhere, we went to the end of the rest only in Plaisir. Great restaurant, ate the same dish several times - never got bored. Insanely delicious lamb (by the way, I don’t really like it, but this is an exception)! Pasta, veal, ravioli with king prawns - everything is incomparable! Desserts for every taste! The service is beyond praise. The administrator, Magdi, entertained his son while we ate and enjoyed the taste. All staff are courteous. Candles, snacks, music………. In general, the best impressions left from this restaurant! In other restaurants, they waited a very long time until the waiters approached us, they can’t speak Russian (I don’t know English, but I studied German, but they don’t understand anything in German either). We waited a long time for the dirty dishes to be removed, for the drinks bill to be brought. I asked for well-done veal and beef, but none of the restaurants brought me what I asked for. All the meat was with blood, but I don’t eat that! In Plezira, everything is OK!
Regarding the beach, I can say the following: small "prickly" pebbles, not a long pontoon, BUT! Near the beach of our hotel (near the Prestige it is separate from the main one) there is a diving center and, accordingly, a pier for catamarans and sailboats, on which people and diving equipment are loaded. People from other hotels are also brought to this diving center. So, in the evening, when all these ships bring people back (and, accordingly, in the morning, when they are taken away), a queue gathers for the mooring of ships, they are all with running engines, all the smoke, gasoline, stench, everything is in the place where the pontoon is located, it is not possible to swim. And during the day it is not possible to swim because of the solar heat. So we swam in the sea only twice, once in the first half of the day, the second time in the second, and when we found all these ships (5 pieces) there, we didn’t go there anymore. We swam in a salt lake, a visit to this lake is included in the package, and for those who are not in this hotel, you can buy a visit for 10 euros per day per person, but many went to it for free. We were told that the hotel was 30% full, which is why there were few people on the lake and no one paid attention to "strangers". The water in the lake is sea, but dirty, and closer to the middle of the lake there was a smell from the water (as if the water was blooming). But the child loved it! Water is like fresh milk, there is sand on the shore, everything you need for children!
Very poor landscaping. We went on an excursion, stopped by other hotels to pick up people, some had more well-groomed and green areas with an abundance of flowers and decorative pebbles.
They didn’t take the child to the children’s mini-club, they went once, there is no air conditioning and they stick out indoors, rehearsals on the street stage took place at 15 o’clock - it’s very hot, the children are poor (
The pools at the hotel are clean, but we didn’t go, we want sea water. You can swim in the pool and in the city in the fitness center!
And now about the most important thing! The ticket of our hotel included free access to the SPA area with a jacuzzi, a pool with sea water, a sauna and a bathhouse, BUT! Keep in mind that children under 14 are not allowed there. When buying a ticket, no one said this! They were very upset by this
The day before departure, a cockroach was crawling in the jacuzzi! About 4 cm in size. It was horror! I am very afraid of them. They didn’t talk about it so that they wouldn’t poison us in front of us, but they told the administrator when we left. He called us in front of us and asked us to do the processing.
Plaisir restaurant - solid 5, all others - 3. Service and cleanliness in the hotel - 4, overall rating - 4!
Greeted well, settled even early.
Went for lunch, for the first time on trips to the all-inclusive system, tea is not included in lunch and dinner. This is certainly not convenient, and not normal.
At the end of the day, I list sausages, sweet rice porridge, croutons in the breakfast menu, and they make scrambled eggs in front of you. and they also bake delicious pastries for breakfast, and only ate them. Here is the menu for 10 days.
For lunch and dinner, fried chicken, pasta, boiled potatoes, rice, steamed vegetables. Well, sometimes beef is like a dish of the day for distribution. It's all. not very much the same.
Alcoholic beverages can be drunk when you have drunk brought with you.
their taf taf buses run every 10-18 minutes. Planes fly more often. In short, for all the time so until the end of the hotel did not go around too big.
It is better to relax with the company so funnier and their disadvantages are not so noticeable. for children, not very animation works on time from 10-00 to 12-00 from 15-00 to 18-00 from 19-00 to 22-00. it is not comfortable.
advice buy a hookah and smoke it on your balcony is much better and more profitable.
the rooms are cleaned normally for 4.
In general, a normal hotel, but we will not go to such large hotels again.
Very big, I liked it, there is where to walk and it's an understatement. But there are people who are annoyed by this, although on the territory of the hotel there are taf-taf buses around the clock on 5 routes. In general, the territory is well-groomed, everywhere there are flowers, vegetation, clean.
2. Hotel.
It consists of several hotels, in my opinion 5 hotels: Oasis, Aquamarine, Harem, Sultan and Prestige (aka Elisir). I must say right away that even though the hotel positions itself as 5 *, only Elisir corresponds to this. Sultan - solid 4 *, Oasis - 2 * or 3 *, I didn’t know about the rest. In 2008, we arrived at the Oasis, were shocked by the room (everything was somehow shabby, scary, a mini-kitchen in the room, the faces of workers looking into the windows who were still completing something). True, at our insistent request to move us to a room that corresponds to the 5 * that we had ordered, we were moved to the Sultan.
This time we stayed at the Elisir Hotel.
3. Number.
The rooms at Elisir are good, the smell of fresh paint was a little confusing when we entered the room, but it quickly faded. Cleaned every day, sheets and towels changed every day. Very cool bed linen - natural, soft, I liked it so much that I even looked for it in the Arab bazaar, I wanted to buy it home)))))) They gave me water every day - 2 bottles of 0.5 liters each. In addition, there were always fanta, cola, sprite in the refrigerator.
When in 2008 we lived in the Sultan, we were given water only once : ( so now the constant availability of water was a pleasant surprise.
4. Pools.
There is a swimming pool right in front of the building - if you live on the first floor, you can go directly from the balcony to the terrace to the pool, cool. The pool seemed to be only for our building, so there were always sunbeds near it and it was never crowded.
Another Elisir pool was near another building - it was more crowded there, but there were always enough sunbeds too. Interesting design in Buddhist style.
There is also a lake with sea water on the territory, we couldn’t swim in it, but we swam - no one kicked us out and didn’t tell us anything.
5. Beach.
Sand and pebble, in general, you can walk without slippers, unless, of course, it is hot, but it will be hot ; -). The entrance to the sea is through the pantone (this is on the beach for Elisir), but on the main beach of the hotel there is also an entrance cleared of corals, but it is quite narrow and everyone is always swirling there, not very convenient.
6. Sea.
Super! Clean, salty, beautiful, a lot of fish, although I was a little afraid of them and swam further from the corals, there are practically no fish there.
Interesting: it is forbidden to swim after sunset both in the sea and in the pool, this is a little annoying, since our people have an irresistible thirst to swim at night))) We swam in the pool after 22:00, most of the workers leave at this time and no one already following this.
7. Food.
I could always choose something for myself, it cannot be said that there is a big choice, but it all depends on the requests. There were always soups, potatoes, rice, spaghetti, meat, fish, a sweet table and some choice of vegetables and fruits. True, the food is almost the same every day, many get bored, although personally everything suited me. I heard they said that there were poisonings, but it is not clear from food, water, or simply reclimatization. Children of 2-3 years old have almost nothing to eat, but again, who cares. Everything is amateur.
Dry rations were funny, which they give with them on excursions: 2 tiny sandwiches with sausage and cheese, 2 sweet buns + 1 bun with 2 jams, 0.5 l of water and a small juice. I can still get enough of this, but a young healthy man... ))))))) In general, if it weren’t for sausage and sweet crackers brought with me from my homeland, I would definitely starve))))))))
8. Bars.
If you like good alcohol, take it with you - there is a complete trouble with alcohol, even beer looks like soda. But for the unpretentious, everything is super - you can get drunk without leaving the beach)))
9. Excursions.
You can write long and tedious about the peculiarities of Arab culture and the nation as a whole, but this makes no sense, so I will say briefly: everything is somehow underorganized, everything is somehow through one place. It's just that everyone who travels to Egypt needs to understand this and be ready for this, relax and enjoy the "super comfortable" buses and the air conditioner that tumbles into your face, after which "hello herpes! ".
10. Guides.
Almost each of the guides scratched that his wife was Russian / Ukrainian / Kazakh, at the end of the trip everyone was already laughing at this, and one Arab in Naama Bay told us in broken Russian that he was Seryozha from St. Petersburg, we were generally lying around.
If you are taking sea stones with you when leaving home - do not burn, the guide can specifically say that stones, hookah cannot be taken, so that you start asking him and he understands who exactly is carrying. Then the guide comes up to the customs officer and tells him who needs to be cowardly. Both begin to say that you have big problems, etc. , a fine of 1000 dollars, as a result, they agree on 100 dollars. Such a fun way to withdraw money. I personally calmly transported the stones, no one stopped me. I really don't know about corals.
In conclusion, I wish that no unpleasant nuances could spoil your vacation! Relax and try to notice the good and forget the bad! ; )
room on the 2nd floor, the staff did not take into account that we are husband and wife and we got 2 separate beds.
They asked us to move the beds, waited for several hours, no one came, in the end they moved it themselves, and in the morning they went to change the room. for 40 bucks they offered a room with a sea view on the same 2nd floor, but I asked for a higher and cheaper one with a balcony, in general, for $ 5 we were put in a room! A chic room overlooking the pool and a piece of the sea!!! ! from the balcony you could watch how they play football or volleyball.
The food was delicious, varied, I always found something to profit from, only my husband was capricious, I won’t eat it, I don’t like it. Only I went for breakfast with pleasure, there would be such a variety of pastries, toasts with jam, pancakes, and of course fried eggs !!! ! She was cooked by a cool man (unfortunately I forgot her name), who always made me wake up and smile!! ! good mood were provided for the whole day. I would also like to mention a cook from Russia who worked deep-fried for lunch. And you also have a very cool chef, whom the animators affectionately called "WATERMELON".
Special thanks to the ANIMATORS and a deep bow, everything was on top ! ! Since the hotel area is small, we met another married couple there and spent the last days together : )
Safaris are offered on the beach - TAKE IT!! ! TAKE IT!! ! you will not regret!!!! ! my husband and I took 2 times, as well as our new friends. the first time we took an 8 hour program, and the second time for 4 hours (just drive quadrics in the desert). On eviction: according to international rules, they are evicted from the room at 1.00, and we had the plane at 23-40, (+ it was also delayed for 3 hours + the toilet did not work in it) we sunbathed all day, drank at the bar, ate, no one said a word to us that we shied away around the territory without bracelets and eat and drink, it's only BIG + We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
But in the evening you don’t know what to do with yourself if you are without company, because. Italian animation (because of the Italian owner) is shorter specific. You can go shopping in one day, well, two, and then what? The prices are very high. You can ride with a breeze on the taf-taf on different routes (and there are five of them) on the territory of the hotel.
In general, I advise not picky people to go, how many people - so many opinions you can find fault with everything, but you focus on the positive and you will get a rest. My vacation took place - I want to go back to Dominu
By the way, thanks to the manager Lyudmila Tikhonova (Zvezda Tourism Ag-vo). An intelligent girl, she picked up a cool hotel for us, which we both liked, despite the fact that we wanted different things : ), advised us which building to choose so that it would be closer to the restaurant and the beach. All in all, great.
I’ll make a reservation right away - if you need a sea view, then choose another hotel where 100% of the rooms have a sea view, otherwise you will probably be deceived.
We booked and paid for Prestige sea view with a sea view and an individual transfer 2 months before the trip. 3 weeks prior to the S7 trip, the tour stated that there were no sea view seats (sudden 'stop sale') and they were offering a 'more expensive' Elisir or a refund. Since there was no time left to look for something worthwhile, they left it as it is. Upon arrival, it turned out that there were no places in the building overlooking the sea (and there weren’t until the end of the stay), and all Russians were settled in Elisir with a view of each other, that is, it looks like a common fraud put on stream (it’s unlikely of good will who will book Elisir, although the numbers say more).
Individual transport turned out to be a bus from this hotel (S7 tour), which collected people at the airport for an hour, transported them for another hour and also collected people back for an hour from all Domina hotels with a stop in Sierra.
To the sea from prestige about 300m downhill. The beach is a separate small one with a narrow pontoon and a single staircase. At 64 prestige numbers and 100 Elisir, it turns out pretty cramped.
30 meters from the "elite" beach there is a pier with prehistoric pleasure yachts that smoke with worn-out diesel engines from 8 to 10 am and from 4 to 5:30 pm - it is impossible to swim when the wind is in your direction (and this is almost always).
Corals are 70% dead, although there are few fish, they are quite diverse.
Plaisir restaurant with excellent cuisine and service. Fish-Italian restaurant Nautilus is not worse in terms of cuisine, but the service is a bit inferior. Prices are 1.5 times higher than European ones.
The prestige bar on the beach is not bad, they cook vegetables, meat, squid and shrimp on the grill, but the shrimp used to be rotten. Freshly squeezed juices in Plezira and in the bar are actually squeezed out, but it is not known when.
The service at the hotel is good by Egyptian standards, there is no Internet in Elisir, they say that a new hotel (you can’t tell by the look) - you have to go to Plaisir - 100m, but quite expensive - 12 euros per hour, 100 euros per week.
But the SPA is beyond praise - two warm hydromassage pools with different temperatures with a diameter of 6 m, and cold ones with different temperatures. Entrance, towels, bathrobes free of charge every day.
The announced Club car service is good only when leaving Prestige to any point in the vast territory of Domina, but you can wait 30-40 minutes back, no matter how many times you call the reception and no matter how you swear (they call it Service upon availability).
The guide of the host of the S7 tour, whose name is Saleh, would be nice to be transferred to a job that does not require communication with clients.
The S7 and Global charter flight is no worse than regular flights in terms of punctuality, aircraft condition and service.
