We were at the Melia Sharm in April 2013, two pairs of adults from 32 to 55 years old and a child of 5 years old.
Liked:
1. The territory is clean, green, blooming, well-groomed, though very beautiful.
2. Sea - corals, fish, for this it is worth going.
3. Number. Without surcharges and bribes (see below) we got 2 very good rooms side by side. Rooms are large, spacious, with sea views. The bathroom is big. Forging and granite. Everything is very decent. The child was given a cot.
4. Cleaned well and at a convenient time, every day.
Did not like:
1. Service. I don’t know, maybe now this situation is everywhere in Egypt, but I haven’t seen this anywhere else.

We arrived at 10 and checked in at 15. They took us to the rooms and offered to pay extra. We froze and came later. By this time, there were probably no bad numbers left. After checking in, my husband with a "guide by numbers" left for the suitcases, and I put the child to bed and also fell asleep. The "porter guide" ran into my room before my husband and began to pull my legs, and then open my eyes with my hands! From this I already woke up, he babbled about how he should divide the suitcases between us and the friends, who at that moment were in the next room. I drove him away and then I heard how he was arguing with her husband in the corridor, saying that for 2 rooms 5 dollars. few. Then we dealt with this story until the evening, hotel managers and an Anex tour representative. They asked questions, doubted, pondered and the result - they told me to write a formal complaint. I am not a fan of writing reviews and complaints, but I did. This is the end. No one apologized, no one explained. After 2 days, they met this goat, he worked on himself further.
About the staff: there were many unpleasant moments. You can't wait for waiters in the restaurant, sometimes even giving tips. Of course there were good people too. But, it seems to me, this is such a hotel policy in relation to the staff, or an echo of the political situation in the country.
Other guys lost watches with diamonds, there were police. Others were settled in a very bad room, with a view "on the room", smelly, and all night on the roof, something terribly pounded from the wind. Etc.
2. Insects. Waking up the next morning, I found that the child was all over, from head to toe, in red spots. I won't describe how we found it out, but it turned out to be mosquitoes. I just want to say: take medicine for everything with you, you can’t get through to the insurance.
3. Children's room and animation - you can say it is not. The room is small and stuffy. The playground is small. There is no adult animation.
It can be tolerated, but there are problems:
1. Food: in general, as elsewhere in Egypt. Most of them are not very tasty, but you can find something.
2. Pantone is very long.
3. We were unlucky with the weather. A strong wind was blowing, although it should not be there anymore. You can't guess here.
Conclusion. I will not go there for the second time and I do not recommend it to others. We took the hotel as an alternative to Grand Sharm, which was 2 years old, but still Grand Sharm is better, although not ideal.
