Rested with my sister in Melia Sharm in May. In general, the rest was very pleasant. This is not the first time in Egypt, we did not have high expectations for an AI hotel of this level, it fully justified its cost. We flew with Anex, $1940 for 14 nights.

The territory of the hotel is beautiful and cozy, the beach is clean, there is great music on the beach all day, the fish are unusual, the service is excellent. The hotel has a very beautiful hall, on the first level of the hall there is a cozy and round-the-clock lobby bar, in which there is live music in the evenings.

Especially unforgettable is the local beach bar overlooking the island of Tiran, the atmosphere of which is simply indescribable. You can understand and feel all this only after you yourself sit there at least once an hour at the end of the day, watching the sunset, chatting about this and that and relaxing before gathering for dinner. The bartenders in the beach bar are great fellows, very colorful and funny guys, they served quickly and unobtrusively.
Even such a trifle was pleasantly remembered as the fact that when our entire group was evicted, the hotel loaders independently loaded the luggage of each tourist onto the bus, which is not practiced everywhere in Egypt.
The restaurant service was also good. The staff is trying, it's nice that from the first days they remember your preferences: for example, while you go to choose food, you are already offered drinks and they bring them right away. And in the mornings, remembering two days later that we don’t drink coffee during breakfast, but after breakfast we prefer to sit for coffee in the lobby bar - the waiters already showed each other with gestures in advance that don’t come to these with a coffee pot, they don’t love.

The food was very tasty, the choice was always good - every day both meat and fish, different hummus and other oriental snacks, two types of soups for lunch and dinner; squid with vegetables, Mexican fajitas, fried fish were cooked very tasty here.
Once during our check-in, we were pampered with delicious grilled crabs.

Special compliment to the pastry chef! Pastries are excellent, even for people as indifferent to sweets as we are, it was simply impossible to pass by a sweet table in this hotel. Most of all, every day we liked miniature eclairs with natural protein cream, chocolate with nuts and coconut cakes.

Local drinks are ok. The wine is an ordinary young table wine. The red was tastier this year than the white. Of the strong ones, this time we liked tequila and whiskey the most. The soda was also very tasty, and served here in small glass bottles, which is also an important detail. After all, service consists of little things.
I also liked the boat trip on a glass bottom boat - I highly recommend it for those who want to admire the beauties of the underwater world, but do not dare to dive with scuba gear. We bought on the territory of Melia Sinai beach, it is cheaper there than in Melia Sharm.

Of the tips that I want to share: if you do not plan to go on vacation to Cairo and Luxor, do not buy a visa. A free "Sinai visa" is enough. Western European tourists have been vacationing in Egypt for many years with a “Sinai visa”, which since the time of the Camp David Agreement has been free for both them and Ukrainian citizens. Their tour operators always warn their customers about this, while ours have not yet reached this level of service, so many, due to simple lack of information, pay for a visa without any reason (by the way, we also paid for it every time until this year) .
To get a "Sinai visa" - without responding to the attempts of the representatives of the host at the airport to help you for a fee with filling out the questionnaire and with the accelerated passage of passport control, fill out the migration card yourself, writing "Sinai only" on the back. Then, without going to the window with paid visas, go straight to the passport control window, say “Salam alaikum” and “Sinai only” with a straight face. Everything! Passport stamp. If the border guard has any questions, answer that you are not planning to go anywhere outside the hotel anyway.
Gifts, jewelry, masks, swimming shoes, sunscreens are best bought not at the hotel, but by walking towards the Baron Resort (along the path along the beach - to the left of Melia Sharm, 10 minutes walk) - at the local Shopping Arcade. Creams in Egypt are the cheapest in pharmacies, there is a pharmacy in the Shopping Arcade on the left.
Enjoy your holiday and only positive impressions!
