We got to the hotel by accident (there was a replacement of the hotel from the Anex tour). When I found out that they were changing to this hotel, I was very upset after reading the reviews. Upon arrival, we were generally taken to the left Albatros Palace hotel, which we absolutely did not like and we demanded that Aneks be moved to the previously promised hotel (At the same time, having lost the whole sunny day on this, but I will write a separate review about the work of Aneks and never travel with them again I won't).
As they say, everything is relative. After Albatros Palace, we really liked Albatros Citadel.
Now a little more:

1. Settlement. We were brought to the hotel around 1pm. We settled in 15 minutes, while offering a choice of a room in building 7 with 1 bed or in building 5 with separate beds. We chose building 5 because it had a direct view of the sea. The room is not new but clean and nice. Well, the view from the terrace for a million, just breathtaking. We left cleaning on request only 1 time during the rest, the rest of the time we used the do not disturb sign (we didn’t litter the room so that we had to clean it), they cleaned well.
2. Beach. Since we lived close to the so-called. Royal lagoon, then swam only there. Excellent lagoon, sandy entrance, many fish and safe, as it is surrounded on all sides by stones. The sunbeds on the beach were always free, but near the lagoon itself, of course, our compatriots occupied the sunbeds in the evening. We did not practice this, as we consider it disrespectful to other vacationers and we are not too lazy to walk to the sea. Ibrahim works on the beach, so he helped look for free sunbeds when we arrived, and in general a very nice and pleasant guy, brought flowers to the table by the sunbeds and always smiled.
3. Nutrition. Quite good food. The most delicious were the dinners, which always served fish and sometimes seafood. You could always choose something to your liking. Ice cream was taken only once, not bad, but more for lovers of sherbet.
4. Drinks. Delicious melon juices for breakfast. Delicious coffee on the 1st floor of the main building. Very tasty milk)) Normal bottled beer is everywhere, and in the bar on the 1st floor of the main building there is a delicious canned beer. The rest of the alcohol is impossible to drink, even in cocktails so-so (only Mai Tai was nutritious), but we were ready and took whiskey with us. Water in any bar and restaurant is no problem.

5. Territory. Big, beautiful and with gorgeous views, but there is still nowhere to walk, only 2-3 paths at different levels along the hotel. There is also nowhere to walk near the hotel, and from the hotel to the exit from the territory, it’s probably half an hour to go. And on this long distance, the hotel staff decided to earn money for themselves, which is absolutely not acceptable, as for me. Taxis are not allowed into the territory, forcing you to take a taxi at the hotel at a cost of $ 20 Hotel-Hurghada-Hotel. They tried to swear at the reception when our car was not allowed to go to Hurghada, they say such rules, they ignore them and switch to speaking in Arabic. You can try to call the chief (advised), but we did not have time for this. There is a life hack, you can negotiate with the buses that they take on excursions to bring them to the slagbaum, they constantly stand under the reception and will be happy to give you a dollar (maybe less). Back cars are allowed into the hotel without any problems (when tourists are brought). This was the only moment that really pissed off the hotel.
6. Excursions. Thanks to moving from another hotel, we managed to avoid communication with the intrusive guide Aneksa (upon arrival they said that they were tired, exchanged numbers, later they wrote that the guide at the last hotel told about excursions and if we decide, then let's say, and of course we got frostbite, and our appearance from forgot). The cost of excursions from a guide and sellers on the territory is very high. They took a trip from Neil from home (Luxor with the Valley of the Kings - $ 45 / person, quad bikes individually - $ 26 / person, group 18 were, plus an additional fee for transfer from the hotel $ 5 / person from all excursions). They also ordered a car for $ 15 for two, which took us 3 hours around Hurghada with stops at our request. The tours were ok, but the souvenir sellers and beggars at every stop were very annoying. And of course, there was a residue from the poverty of the country's population ((
To sum up, we were in Egypt for the first time, the hotel is good, the sea is super, but in the near future (5-10 years) you will hardly want to go to Egypt. As a country with such a chic history, we didn't have enough impressions. Still, in developed countries, rest is more impressive (even in Turkey). But for lovers of a purely hotel holiday, we can recommend this hotel.
