10 hotels in the lagoon near the airport
There are 10 hotels in the lagoon area, there is a common promenade with palm trees along the sea and all hotels more than 2 km, a common large water park and a la carte restaurants. This area is located 5 km from the airport, so it saves an hour for the transfer. In my opinion, a good holiday here will not be in January-February, as the temperature is 19 degrees and wind ((but the price is lower. The sea is warm, floated without discomfort, and from the wind is not very pleasant. In windless places you can safely harden ) Surprisingly, last year during this period Brayka Bay resort 5 * was quieter.
The lagoon is huge, there is a wide entrance with sand and grass with a gradual increase in depth, after 20 meters the depth falls sharply into a dark abyss, over which to swim a little scary. In the lagoon lives a large turtle with two large long fish (hanging out next to the turtle). I have seen this trinity four times!
Many stingrays, on the Steigenberger reef side of the reef are dead, deeper live coral areas appear, there are fish, but I would like more (at Brayka Bay resort 5 * bigger and more colorful, more cozy lagoon due to smaller size and location against the wind). From the side of the Town of Jaz Hotel the reef on the shallows is dead, there are few fish, on the sand at a distance of about 10 m from the entrance at a depth of 1.5 m lie round hedgehogs with short needles. With depth and up to the pontoon there is live coral and fish, but this side of the lagoon is poorly lit by the sun, so few flowers.
All tourists can swim freely in the lagoon and on the pontoon!
Divers are serviced with a separate entrance on the pier in the lagoon.
Behind The Three Corners Sea Beach Resort Marsa Alam 4 * after 1.5 km there is another completely sandy empty lagoon without hotels with an old boat on the reef. It was not possible to swim on the reef due to the lack of safe access to the open sea (or not found), terrible winds and huge waves.
Left bank of the lagoon:
Steigenberger Coraya Beach Marsa Alam 5 * - in my opinion, the best combination of location near the most cozy part of the lagoon with sandy entrance to the sea, architecture - little wind in the hotel, comfort, well-groomed garden, but only 16+, few people contingent 50+ Europeans.
Steigenberger Resort Alaya Marsa Alam 5 * - the most pathetic Instagram hotel, incredibly windy, as it faces the open sea, has access to a pontoon with waves, no sandy entrance to the sea, there are rooms with private pool, 20 tourists are hiding in the whole hotel restaurant by the beach behind the glass.
The Three Corners Sea Beach Resort Marsa Alam 4 * - old, windy, well-kept garden, swimming pool warm, repaired, windy, pontoon with waves, no gentle entrance to the sea, bring tourists from the airport last and pick up first. There is another lagoon in the desert at a distance of 1.5 km from the hotel.
Right bank of the lagoon:
1) The town of Jaz hotels - no fences, you can hang out in any of the hotels, because the common infrastructure, only to eat and drink in their own, gentle entrance to the sea only from the lagoon, deep pontoon shared, Sea view rooms very questionable beauty, do not overpay:
Jaz Solaya 5 * - closest to the sand of the lagoon and the road, less wind than in other Jazz, very decent hotel, but do not like the location of buildings, can be accommodated in a room Sea view, but near the road.
Jaz Samaya 5 * - it is not clear why it had to be separated into a separate small hotel, architecture similar to Lamaya - Solaya, windy, well-groomed as in all Jazz,
Jaz Maraya 5 * - modern Scandinavian style architecture, there are two fantastic water areas for children and a trampoline, there is a rooftop bar and rooms with private pools, windy as it is open to the open sea, there are plastic wind dampers near the sunbeds,
Jaz Lamaya 5 * - a hotel where the rest remains in the heart!
The most successful combination of everything! Even standard rooms do not look like a wasteland or an abandoned nook, but flowers, palm trees, flowering trees, a perfect lawn. Closest to a common pontoon. There are no cosmetics in tubes, all in dispensers, but of good quality.
Jaz Dar El Madina 4 * - the second line of the complex of five Jazz, closest to the classy Aquapark, clean, well-groomed, least wind, as the building with a courtyard with a large warm pool, in the other courtyard many restaurants Ala Carte and a stage for evening shows, the hotel includes many shops.
2) combined group of hotels in Jaz Town:
Sol Y Mar Reef Marsa Alam 4 * - small, white in Greek style, well-groomed, but fewer flowers than in the Town of Jaz Hotels, is in the lowlands, so a cozy, less windy beach with a pontoon on the high seas, the pontoon is mostly closed was because the waves are huge, but people from there said that the guard on the pier does not allow to swim far, a maximum of 10 meters from the pontoon along the reef, there is a small frog from the shore to the sea, sand at the bottom, a warm pool below the buildings that protect it from the wind.
Jaz Grand Marsa Alam 5 * - incredibly huge area with many identical buildings, part unfinished, a little old, but under repair, was closed for quarantine crown, so a little dilapidated vegetation, warm pool, surprised that there is much less wind than in the town of Jaz hotels, no own pontoon, use a pontoon in Sol Y Mar, no gentle entrance to the sea, in the evening fantastically well lit the whole hotel and 3 fountains on the main avenue, beautiful rooms with clean bedding, new towels, people say they feed very worthily. They are the first to be brought to this hotel and the last to be picked up.
In my personal rating, the hotels are as follows:
1) Steigenberger Coraya Beach Marsa Alam 5 * - the most expensive and only for adults.
2) Jaz Lamaya 5 * - the average price, you can with children (but from the town of Jaz hotels you can choose any hotel, all very decent).
3) Jaz Grand Marsa Alam 5 * - a little cheaper, but you can relax.
It was surprising that I was allowed into every hotel without any problems, which is not typical for Egypt.
