We stayed at the Jaz Maraya Resort 5, Marsa Alam. First time in Marsa Alam, previously we were in hotels in Sharma and Hurghada.
1. The holiday differs from Sharm and Hurghada in the isolation of the hotel from the outside world (who expects to buy medicine, mangoes, shrimp - everything is double the price). All this can be bought by going to Port Ghalib, taxi from the hotel costs 30 dollars, the ride is 10 minutes.
2. Who plans to hang out, count only on evening animation, and disco outside the hotel after 23.00 on Tuesday and Thursday for 10 dollars. Evening animation - mini disco, dance groups, fire show, live music, lottery on Fridays, karaoke, etc. . p. Daytime animation - stretching, yoga, belly dancing, aqua aerobics, aquatics polo, table tennis, darts, volleyball.

3. Food - tasty, varied, everything in moderation. There are grilled seafood, in salads and soups. Mango has been there many times. Fruits include melon, banana, pomegranate, citrus, guava, figs, dates, peaches, plums. Meat - grilled every evening, beef, chicken, turkey.
Fish - tuna and something in batter. There are four ala carte restaurants, I liked the sushi restaurant 4. The sea. There is a sandy, gentle entry into the sea, where you can snorkel with children and a pontoon, but this is not on the beach at the hotel, but you need to go to the neighboring Lamai hotel. Pontoon with a descent into the lagoon. To the gorgeous outer reef 300 m one way. Beginners will also have something to see in the lagoon itself. But the fabulous beauty of the reef opens from the outside of the reef, beyond the lagoon. The depth of the lagoon, according to the lifeguard, is 6 m. It is very comfortable to swim from 6 in the morning, when there are no waves. Mostly windy and stormy, calm in the morning. But thanks to the wind, the heat is not felt. There is a current behind the outer reef, professionals swim long distances behind the outer reef. We, as amateurs without fins, were also able to swim a little in the open sea, but there is a current that can be dealt with with some effort.
We have been looking for turtles for the 5th day, everyone saw them except us)) We saw stingrays, lionfish, squid, fish that swim with their mouths open (the name, sorry, I don’t know). This is not counting the fish seen earlier in Sharm.
5. The territory is compact, not large, green. The beach is wide, there is enough space for everyone. The rooms are new, the rooms are large. I recommend the first building with direct sea views. But first, as always, they try to sell numbers with a terrible look, saying that this is a “super” number. Beach towels are changed frequently and upon your request. We were lucky with a guide who helped resolve all issues upon check-in.

6. Previously they wrote that “the hotel is tailored for the Germans. ” I don’t agree with this opinion, because before Covid I vacationed more than once at Reef Oasis Beach, where the concept was indeed “for Italians, ” but this, by the way, did not spoil the hotel, but added more opportunities for Ukrainians. The staff knows certain phrases in Russian, Ukrainian, there are animators from Ukraine.
Mostly German and English are spoken. In general, we were happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel.
