I want to share my impressions of my 34th holiday in Egypt. Stayed in Marsa Alam at Dream Lagoon Aqua Park & Resort 5*, all inclusive system. I moved to this hotel from another hotel for 3 days, and it was absolutely the right thing to do, it saved the rest of the vacation.
I arrived at the hotel by taxi in the afternoon. At the reception, I explained that I had changed hotels, there were no problems, I was greeted very kindly, and checked in immediately. The room is on the second floor, with a view of the courtyard with plants and an artificial river. The room is cozy and comfortable, in European style. A lot of wood, 2 beds, bedside tables, a table, huge wardrobes, mirrors. Water and cosmetics are regularly replenished. Among the minuses - the shower cabin leaked a little. Light insulation and sound insulation are good, it was possible to sleep normally. There is a small balcony, entwined with flowers, on it a table and 2 chairs. Birds are singing in the morning. The cleaning is excellent, they also spun swans out of towels.
The territory of "Dream Lagoon Aqua Park & Resort 5*" is very large and green, there is a place to walk (in general, there are 2 more hotels nearby that make up the Lagoon View Hotels hotel complex). The style of architecture is oriental. There are a lot of plants, they are taken care of, many colorful flowers and cacti plantations, there is an artificial river and many pools. I didn't get to the water park in the nearby hotel, because there was very little time left for rest. The interior of the reception desk is very stylish, oriental and interesting.
Food is a strong point of the hotel. There are several restaurants. The choice of dishes is not very large, but everything is prepared deliciously. Snacks are prepared in the bars: potatoes, hamburgers, pizza and others. Staying hungry is simply impossible. There are no long queues for food. Waiters bring drinks.
There are also several all-inclusive bars: on the beach, outside the reception, near the pools. The selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails of normal quality is large. I was pleased to have good coffee.
Service is not a strong point of the hotel. Unfortunately, there were those employees who spoiled the impression. I will give examples. Once we came for dinner late, closer to the end of the restaurant. In Egypt, this is quite a common phenomenon. In this case, in other hotels, employees served the guest until the declared closing time of the restaurant, then began cleaning, and late guests calmly finished their dinner. At Dream Lagoon Aqua Park & Resort 5*, they literally took away our drinks, poured them into plastic and literally began to demand that we leave the restaurant. This is very unpleasant, and in 34 visits to Egypt I see this for the first time.
The animation in the hotel is active but unobtrusive, which is great. There are daytime sports entertainment and evening shows and competitions. There is a disco.
The beach is very large, 700 m, well equipped. A sufficient number of sunbeds, screens from the wind and umbrellas. There is no need to take sunbeds, there are enough for everyone. There is a bar on the beach, they cook pizza.
Sea.
Near the hotel there is a huge lagoon of incredible turquoise color. The entrance to the lagoon is sandy, the sea is very shallow. There are no corals or fish near the shore. Small children will like this sea. Adults have to go to the depths for a long time.
Snorkeling is the number one priority for me on vacation in Egypt, I am a very experienced swimmer and love to shoot and edit videos of the underwater world of the Red Sea. At a great distance from the shore, behind the buoys, I did find several coral islands. Unfortunately, the color of the coral is gray, not colorful. But sea creatures are present: a very cute green turtle was resting on one coral, 3 turtles at the same time on another. It was very interesting to observe the relationship between the turtles, who could not share the same coral. Met a huge scary barracuda. Very beautiful shoals of platax. Found a couple of huge sea anemone plantations with an incredible number of amphiprions ("nemo") in them.
The underwater world of the hotel is not rich and bright, but if you swim far, there is something to see.
I will highlight the service on the beach separately. There were several lifeguards on the beach, traditionally in Egyptian hotels they are specialists in the flora and fauna of local bays. I turned to them for advice on where to sail to see something interesting. One rescuer didn't speak English at all, another said he could show me everything himself for 10 euros. When we found the turtles on our own, a lifeguard arrived in a motor boat and began to rudely demand that we swim to the shore, because it is dangerous here. Although the depth was up to 3 meters. There were also people near us who also hoped to admire the turtles. The lifeguard began to swim in a circle in the boat among the swimmers, interfering with them and creating a dangerous situation. He started taking pictures of us and threatened that if we don't swim to the shore, we will have big problems at the reception and we will be kicked out of the hotel.
It was very unpleasant. He could, on the contrary, help the tourists, just stay on the boat next to the swimmers and watch them so that nothing happens, and give help if necessary.
Excursions: For my birthday, I bought an excursion to Sataya Wild Dolphin Cove. It takes 1.5 hours to get to the port of Hamata from the hotel, then we went by yacht to the south. There were many dolphins in the bay, we were lucky enough to swim with them for a long time. The dream has come true!
Let me summarize: the vacation was not expensive, so my requirements for the hotel are not very high. The hotel is very green and beautiful, the color of the lagoon is incredible. If it were not for some problems with the service, then for such a price, the holiday could be considered excellent. Managers should do serious work with the staff. I recommend the hotel for families with children, for people who like to swim and relax in pools, who like to eat and drink well.
However, those guests who come to Egypt to admire the unique underwater world of the Red Sea should look for another bay.

The furniture is old, dirty, broken in places. I note that the hotel positions itself as 5 *. Appearance - a maximum of 3 * with great optimism. When purchasing tickets to this hotel, we took a superior room for a couple, however, they settled us in a room for 3 people, that is, with 3 separate beds, while requiring an additional payment if we want to get what we booked. After long scandals that took 2 days, we were still settled in the room that we originally booked.
The territory of the hotel is nice, but in many places without proper care (something is broken off, something is not painted, somewhere the building is being repaired, somewhere construction work is going on, a lot of garbage, including construction).
The rooms are dirty. Since there are a large number of cats on the territory of the hotel, the rooms stink of cat urine. Refrigerators do not work, air conditioners are in disrepair. Drinking water, shampoos, soap in the room is not issued every day. Tourists have to collect water in bottles in the dining room on their own.
The "Restaurant" does not comply with elementary standards of cleanliness. The waiter could drop the cutlery on the floor and then pick it up and put it on the table. Tables are not cleaned after people have eaten. Dishes are dirty and sticky. There are not enough cutlery and napkins for everyone. At the bars, the staff also very often ignores the requests of vacationers.
The food is outwardly diverse, but tasteless. There were a lot of spoiled dishes that had stood for a couple of days.
There is also not enough food for everyone. Soft drinks diluted.
Tourist guides are a separate story, which is worth writing a separate article about. Never buy tours from guides from a diving club - Scubaworld, there are deceivers who promise one excursion and take you to a completely different one. After that, they still don’t want to return the money, they allow themselves to openly swear, insult, until you start threatening them with calling the police.
The hotel staff does not react in any way to the problems of their tourists. Moreover, as mentioned above, employees allow themselves disrespectful, even offensive treatment of vacationers, especially women. When there are problems with their local guides, or individual hotel staff, the staff covers up all the machinations of these deceivers, saying that these are the problems of the holidaymakers themselves. They impose their services, which no one asks for, and then issue invented invoices.
In response to the refusal to pay for their initiative, they threaten the impossibility of leaving the hotel, both verbally and in writing. The hotel managers openly declare their "friendship" with the police, which makes it impossible for vacationers to hope for help and protection.

Of the minuses:
1. The hotel is undergoing renovation, but slowly. We didn’t get the rooms very well, you can see the stains on the walls, and the “shabby” furniture, and the bed linen (especially the towels) are not quite suitable for a 5 * hotel.
2. We got into a period of low tide and high tide and very windy weather.
3. Water park - 3 slides, open 2 times a week for several hours.
4. And most importantly - I never again, I repeat, I never want such gala dinners for the New Year - the queues, everything ended very quickly (I'm talking about food) and the food was not very different from ordinary (except decorations). For 2500 UAH per person - this is complete nonsense !!!
In general, this hotel can be awarded a solid 4+.

Room on the first floor overlooking the pool. Hot water is always available. The soundproofing on the first floor is excellent. No one is heard. The area is very beautiful. Food without frills. They didn’t tell anyone, somehow they themselves found out and brought a cake - it was nice. The only strange thing is that there is no kettle in the room. There is no bus to the city, as in a neighboring hotel for 5 euros, either, only a taxi. So if you rely on pharmacies or mangoes, then either take medicine from home or pay $ 25 round trip for a taxi)) Souvenir shops are not very good. We ordered a taxi from Kyiv (airport - hotel). Vodafone is not sold at Marsa Alam airport, so we asked the driver to stop by Marsa Alam to buy internet cards. But there are more pluses. You look at the beauty and do not see the cons. God willing, we will definitely return. Thank you all for a pleasant stay.

Very green and clean area. Like a botanical garden. Rooms with old furniture and very worn linens. But the room is clean. The food is good, as for Egypt. But the review is not about that. And a man from a nearby hotel, Deep Blue, saw a stone up to his chest in the water. This is a very dangerous fish. Be careful not to walk without shoes. Although the stone and shoes do not save from fish, they say. The Red Sea is beautiful, but you need to be very careful not to touch ANYTHING with your hands.

Very gentle entry into the water, 300-400 meters you need to go to go up to the neck. The reef is big far away, 800 meters, the rescuers don't let it in, there are several small ones nearby. There is not a wide variety of fish. But stingrays and turtles come up! ! Beachboys are handsome, they try very hard. There was practically no animation, but we were not interested in it.
The food is so-so, like a lot of things, but there is nothing to eat. In the canteen (not a restaurant) you need to go to the opening in order to catch something tasty)) sweets are given out in portions. Constant queues and something they run out of: food, dishes, clean appliances. The food is like a quest))) my wife is in line for omelettes, I am for coffee, she is for salads, I am for desserts. Then run and find clean appliances. There is only ONE women's and men's toilet and a washstand in the canteen!! ! Liquid soap is there every other day! We went with our sanitizer. Many guests lay with disorders for 1-2 days. The unsanitary conditions are terrible!!!
Bars: well done bartenders, they try. But they don’t give powdered wine at the bars, only in the dining room during lunch and dinner. The rest of the range of drinks as everywhere in Egypt.

Incredible flowers, beds of giant cacti. The food is good, varied, there is a diet menu, a children's menu, and there were seafood. The audience at the hotel is not noisy, calm Germans, Italians, Czechs, Poles, Ukrainians... which pleased, there were absolutely no Arab vacationers. For people with wheelchairs there are ramps - very convenient. The water in the pool is clean, constantly cleaned.
The sea is beyond praise! Transparent, laser. I love to swim, so I liked everything despite the long entry into the sea. I swam on corals - there are fish, they are not as diverse as Charme, but here you can see turtles in their natural environment! I was lucky and I saw different turtles for three days in a row! Just puppy delight! There is entertainment in the hotel, but I visited aqua aerobics every day, I liked it very much! The spa area is great too. Went for a massage. I had a massage therapist Samar, nice. The massage is very professional, I say this as a winner of the championships. I recommend! Cleopatra complex (scrubing+hammam+sauna+massage) is magnificent! All in all, it was a very good holiday. I recommend.
